For they have been cast out, abiding in outer darkness, forever separated from God and their part in life. These know nothing at all, returning to that from which they were formed. Beloved, THIS is the eternal state of My punishment, for those who have chosen death; for they have rejected The Gift, wherein is life everlasting. So then those under condemnation are dead; in no way are they part of the living, nor are they living in torment...Their inheritance is lost, they have been blotted out, broken vessels of dishonor received by the earth once again.




Therefore, stop blaspheming your God!

Maybe to many uses of the name of Jesus in the signature to be JW

But, a bit of searching did find people that believe this is a cult. Apparently by their research it is headed by "Timothy" [-aka Speed "Timothy" Rathbun]
With that in mind If you look at this letter you will see Timothy is called to be a God unto the People, about the middle blue I didn't want to infringe on the copy right so I C/P the whole letter LOL

I was pointing out that this quote seemed more of a JW belief. They also believe that people do not get thrown into hell but rather are not revived from the grave type thing...

Fearing God & Loving him are united in His character....You can't have one without the other.

Jesus compels us to fear Him for this very reason.

I wouldn't call that a Jehovah's Witness belief. It's something that supporters support by substantial appeals to scripture. It's unfair to tarnish those believers with a JW reference. Many from the mainline denominations and even some of the more conservative groups have come along in recent years to adopt the annihilationist perspective.

I wonder why you missed this part though because this is a teaching that I think is fairly well isolated to the JW church:

Luther taught soul sleep. I don't know if that's the same thing though. JWs teach annihilationism and it's not distinctive to JWs so I'm just pointing out that there are some who would feel that statement unfairly applies to them. Many Anglicans and Episcopalians were apart of this movement from the eternal conscious torment of Calvin to an annihilationist perspective during the last 50+ years. I'm sure that there are some in even otherwise fundamentalist scenes who currently reflect the sentiment.

I'm not trying to be a PC fascist either, I'm just saying that to lump them all into the fold of JWs is something they wouldn't like. And my last point was the statement of his I quoted is more distinctively JW than the one you quoted so more properly that is the quote that you should have used instead of one that there is nothing distinctively JW about.

The Most High speaks to his people all throughout time with dreams and visions even as in Acts 2, at the commencement of the Kingdom of Heaven upon the earth, ("Behold, I come as a thief" says Messiah). Likewise, with various other Scripture passages understood in conjunction with what Peter spoke in Acts 2 at Shavout, the only time when it really counts that one "calls upon the name of the Lord" is when he says it counts; not when we decide for ourselves, such as an altar call or sinners prayer. We do not get to decide the date and time of our salvation such as has been taught more recently by taking that passage out of its context and using it along with "creepy organ music" to bring sinners to the altar, (which is in fact the pinnacle of the preacher himself because one puts himself or herself at his feet and therefore his doctrines). That time of initial conversion is merely an entrance into a walk towards that great day when one will become a son, a joint inheritor of the promise, receiving the promise for which we were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise when we first believed.

To the mockers here: If none of these things above have occurred to you, or similar things in your own dreams and-or visions, then perhaps you still have not "called upon the name of the Lord" in the all important time when it really counts, (your soul will be required). Perhaps also in that day you will indeed learn to fear. :)
