What Are Visions?
Visions are direct revelations from the Lord; they are usually information, guidance, instructions, or sometimes warnings about current or future situations. They can be on a personal, national, or global level. Sometimes they may have an element of the past, but visions are mostly connected to present or future events. An open vision is when you are awake and you are seeing pictures beginning to form in your mind. These pictures are not conjured up by your mind, nor are they fantasies or daydreams. Visions are usually accompanied by the voice (and sometimes presence) of the lord or a heavenly narrator. They are similar to watching a movie without a remote; to control what you're seeing. Visions are viewed through prophetic sight.
Visions don’t generally need interpreters like dreams do because they are straightforward and to the point. The person having the vision understands the deeper details of that vision, so it may need to be clarified to others when posting it publicly.
A closed vision is similar to an open vision except your eyes are closed but you are conscious and awake. Visions fall into the category of prophecy. Countless people in the Old and New Testament had visions, and I have listed a few:
Joseph Genesis 37, Jacob:Genesis 28:10-17, Daniel; Daniel 7-12, Peter Acts10:9-16, Paul: Acts 16:9-10
I will link more information relating to visions when I get some time.
