One of the craziest teachings by false prophets today is that God's law no longer has any application among Christ's Body since our Lord Jesus died on the cross.
Matt 5:17-20
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
(KJV)
Christ gave a very specific time frame there when all the law and prophets will be fulfilled. It certainly was not at His first coming, but will be after His second coming when the heavens and earth of this world pass away. Don't get me wrong, I'm not preaching against The New Covenant with this, even as the brainwashed victims of false prophets probably would like to think.
Apostle Paul taught what part of God's law our Lord Jesus nailed to His cross, that of the hand writing of 'ordinances' in the law (Col.2; Eph.2). The rest of God's laws are still in effect and still very important as an identifier of God's people. This is why Apostle Paul said in 1 Timothy 1:9 that the law was not made for the righteous, but for the lawless and disobedient. IT IS PART OF OUR PROTECTION FROM THE WICKED WHO ARE LAWLESS.
This is why Christ's enemies have pushed the propaganda lie that God's law no longer exists, when Christ never taught any such idea. Paul was specific in Galatians that if we walk by The Spirit, then we will not be under the law's consequences, for we won't be doing anything against the law. But walking by the flesh to do those things he showed are against God's laws is the opposite condition he taught there, and is STILL very much applicable today for anyone walking by their flesh.
In Matthew 5 our Lord Jesus was teaching the spirit of God's law, explaining its conditions per the heart instead of the letter. Nowhere did He say it was dead. This is why Apostle Paul would teach the following, which is New Testament Christian Doctrine...
Gal 5:18-21
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
(KJV)
People who continue in those sins Paul mentioned there walk according to their flesh, and those are still most definitely under the law, and as he also said those who continue in such will NOT inherit the kingdom of God.
So the melely-mouthed garbage the false prophets are teaching today that as Christians we can go out and live any way we want and not be under God's law is nothing but rubbish, a lie planted by Christ's enemies for the purpose to destroy Christ's Body and make it lawless.
It is Christ's enemies that plant the seeds of rebellion among our young people, through the TV and various media outlets to try and make them have disregard and disrespect for authority, and disrespect for our nation's laws which many come directly from God's laws in The Bible. Christ's enemies seek to remove the stamp of God's law among His people, because God's laws especially prevent Christ's enemies from destroying us, if we apply those laws in our society.
This also means it's up to God's people to make sure His laws are applied in our society today. Historical guides for the Supreme Court building in Washington, D.C. are now denying the symbols upon its walls of Moses holding the tablets of The Ten Commandments, which symbols were placed there to show the operation of God's laws among His people in America.
