Wrong, the parallelism between the identical themes of Luke 14:26 KJV (we must hate father or mother to be His disciple) and Matthew 10:37 KJV (we must not love father or mother more than Jesus to be His disciple) absolutely proves "hate" can mean "love less" and not necessarily "absence of love".

Show me a person trapped by false ideas like Calvinism and I'll show you a man bound by unbreakable cords of unwarranted hermeneutical rigidity fashioned by his own theologically unskilled hands.

I just showed you from the above Biblical example how "hate" can absolutely mean "love less" - and those who refuse to accept the truth are trapped in the same satanic "Religion of Exclusivity" as are occultists who love to pridefully bask in the belief they are "specially chosen" by Lucifer as worthy to be "illuminated" with the truth while the rest of us are left out in the cold, worthy only of rejection, exploitation, condemnation.
To blend unrelated verses such as, Luke 14:26 & Matt 10:37 and force them to agree with your Arminian religion, is to abuse Gods Word. Your Arminian theology prevents you from receiving Gods Word as it was given by Him, so you need to twist it to make it fit your prideful man centered Arminian gospel.

You showed me nothing but your opinion, which was formed by sitting under Arminian teaching. We're obviously not going to agree on anything while you hold to a gospel which was invented by a fallen man.

Nobody has ever found a single error with Reformed theology, it is the only biblically correct theology, because we don't add our private opinion over Gods Word, as you Arminians do.

Perfectly encapsulates your twisted mindset which paints God as the most unjust being to ever exist:

View attachment 50577

God doesn't "hate" aka "have no love for" anyone.

The story of David and Absalom isn't there merely for interest or amusement - it's written "for our learning" and a blind man can see it's a glimpse into what happened between God and Lucifer in heaven...and after hearing about the fate of Absalom, poor David was devastated and heartbroken and wept out loud in fierce anguish, wishing to God that he could have died in place of the one who tried to kill him and take the throne.

But, God "hates" us, right?
It's pure blasphemy to reject what God said, and invent a god who opposes the true God. You obviously don't know how o rightly divide the Word of God, so you impose your opinion over what God has said.
So you have effectively created a god in your own mind and you idolize him.

Your god loves everyone, and I hate the god who loves everyone because he is a demon god. Demons are evil, so they love their own, but the true God is perfectly righteous, so He hates evil doers so much that He casts them into the lake of fire and He torments them for all eternity.

This is the issue with some Calvinists—they can come across as overly proud, looking down in a condescending way on those who don't share their Calvinist beliefs.

“In Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ; having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions” (Col. 2:11-13).

Here Paul seems to relate circumcision to being made alive. Deut. 10:16 says, “Circumcise your hearts, therefore, and do not be stiff-necked any longer,” which strongly seems to indicate it is man’s responsibility to humbly repent, as seen repeated in Jer. 4:4:

“Circumcise yourselves to the LORD and remove the foreskins of your heart, Men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, Or else My wrath will go forth like fire And burn with none to quench it, Because of the evil of your deeds.’”

This parallels Paul’s teaching in Ephesians 1 and 2, which likewise references the saints as having once been dead but being made alive by God. Both Calvinists and non-Calvinists affirm that we were all once dead in our sins and have been made alive together with Him. The point of contention is over whether the dead sinner has any responsibility in his being raised up. Is the concept of “deadness” meant to suggest that mankind has no responsibility (ability to respond) to God’s appeal to “repent and live” (Num. 21:8-9; Ezk. 18:32; 33:11; John 6:40; John 20:31).

The text indicates that we are “made alive together with Him,” and it is mankind’s responsibility to be included “in Him,” through faith:

“And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory” (Eph. 1:13-14).

When were you “mark in Him?”

“When you believed,” according to the text.

Clearly, one must believe in order to be marked “in Him” and receive the Holy Spirit, not the other way around. It is “in Him” that we are “made alive” or “raised,” according to the texts quoted above.

No where in the Bible is the concept of being “dead” connoted to mean that mankind has no responsibility to humble themselves and repent in faith so as to be “made alive together with Him.” As Paul teaches in Romans 8:10, “If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.”

The theme of being “raised up,” “made alive,” “exalted,” or “lifted up” is carried throughout the scriptures, and it is not difficult to see the expectation God has for those who He will graciously raise up:

1 Peter 5:5-6: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

James 4:10: “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.”

Matthew 23:12: For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

Psalm 18:27: You save the humble but bring low those whose eyes are haughty.

Psalm 147:6: The Lord sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground.

Matthew 18:4: Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Luke 18:14: “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

Not once in scripture does it teach that God is the one responsible for humbling us so that we would be “lifted up,” “raised up,” “exalted” or “make alive together with Him.”

In James 1:14-15, it states, “But each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.”

Likewise, Paul says in Romans 7:9-10, “I was once alive apart from the Law; but when the commandment came, sin became alive and I died; and this commandment, which was to result in life, proved to result in death for me. Yet, Calvinists teach that we are born dead already. So, which is it? Clearly, the analogy of “death” can carry with it different connotations, none of which can be shown by the text to mean “total inability” from birth.

Finally, if spiritual deadness is taken in a woodenly literal way by the Calvinist when it comes to mankind’s moral inability to respond willingly, then why can the “corpse-like dead man” respond unwillingly? A corpse could not “grab the life preserver when it is offered,” as the Calvinist likes to point out, but a corpse also could not actively swim away from it either, as is the rebellious response of many to the gospel. In fact, there are all different kinds of responses to the life preserver. Some swim around it for a while and seem genuinely interested. Others mock it angrily. In fact, no two “dead” people respond in the exact same way to the life preserver, which obviously would not be true if they literally responded like a corpse.

Once again, the Calvinistic presumption is just that, a presumption they read into the text that is simply never substantiated by any explicit biblical teaching.

I should have mentioned that the bible does use the word "hate" in different context. So it has man different applications.

Matt 6:24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

As we see in the above verse, Jesus didn't use the word hate in the same context as He did in Luke 14:26

The world (unbelievers) hates us because we don't agree with anything they believe or do, just as they have everything we believe and do. There are only two types of people in the world, Gods Children and the Devils Children and these are opposed to each other, in every way we can't have any fellowship with them.

Just to clarify fellowship doesn't mean we don't preach the gospel to them or speak with them, it just means we don't agree with them. They have it in their heart to murder us, and they would if they could get away with it. As you say the governments of the world hate us as well, because we don't agree with them.
and if we take note of what JESUS said and later the apostels said and did
What do we do to those who reject the testimony God gave Of HIS son .
we shake the dust off and move on .
and as paul also wrote if after the first or second warning one still wont hear , REJECT them they are condmened of thier own selves .
Take note that NONE of them ever once said
HEY if one dont believe and rejects , OH JUST FIND COMMON GROUND with them . No sir .
I want to show you an example of SORRY evangelism verses true evangelism .
When the jews rejected Christ and had not repented to believe on HIM
what did he tell them . HE said WOE unto you , it will be far worse for you than ever it was for sodom on the day of judgement .
What did paul tell those who rejected , who failed to BELIEVE on JESUS the CHRIST .
Your blood be upon your own heads and he too would shake the dust off his feet .
Now what do most say today if one dont believe in JESUS THE CHRIST , OH ITS OKAY HE BELIEVES IN YOU . what a mess .
And worse others even say and imply there is no need to believe on HIM as they embrace the lie that all religoins serve
the same GOD we do . Todays evanglism really stinks and it has led to a great delusoin too .

Demons are evil, so they love their own, but the true God is perfectly righteous, so He hates evil doers so much that He casts them into the lake of fire and He torments them for all eternity.
examine what the god so many now love and embrace has taught them and led them too .
As they holler god loves all , and tolerance and diversity
and churches are filled with unrepentant sinners and the sin is not exposed and even embraced in some places .
You will find a ton of tolerance for unbelief , for sin and whatever one does DONT dare correct or expose it .
BUT , and this is key.
WILL YOU FIND tolerance and love for the biblical truth , for that GOD , FOR THAT CHRIST . NO SIR
to them that one is a hater , one who judges and does not love .
IN other words what they think is love and is loving has actaully led them into hatred for TRUTH , for the words of GOD
for scriptures and for those brethren who speak such things and do correct error . IT HAS LED THEM
INTO UPMOST REBELLION AGAINST GOD HIMSELF /

it is blashpmey indeed to reject what GOD said and invent another god who feeds their flesh and DOES OPPOSE THE TRUE GOD .
you said a very good reminder my friend . AND THIS IS what many have done within even christendom .
They heed a jesus with a rainbow
they love and embrace a jesus that pleases their flesh .
BUT by golly they hate the GOD , the CHRIST , THE WORDS of truth that exposes the deeds of the flesh that they so love .
Another iamge of GOD has indeed been long preached to this generation and sadly many sure seem to embrace that diverse
and ever changing to fit in with society god . only THAT ONE AINT GOD at all .

The main problem with your Arminian theology, is you are required to deny half of the bible.

You're still trying to convince yourself that a dead person is not dead at all, but he's just pretending to be dead and he can actually manufactory faith within himself in his carnal/natural spiritually dead state.

But God is against you, because He said the natural man ones not receive spiritual things and indeed cannot receive spiritual things as they are foolishness to him. Bu you're trying to convince me that God was telling lies.

All of those verses you quoted where the dead are responding with faith, is not because they conjured up faith within themselves while the others around them rejected the gospel because they haven't been able to manufacture the necessary faith to do so.

According to your Arminian theology, salvation is a joint effort between man and God, so Jesus didn't complete the atonement and He needs you to finish what He failed to complete. But the Word of God is against you because Jesus said "it is finished", but you say nonsense it's not finished until I finish it for you.

Your Arminian religion hasn't told you the truth, that the only reason some respond to the gospel message with faith, is because God gave them the gift of faith, and He is drawing them to Himself. They are not seeking Him or wanting to give Him their lives, because the natural man hates god and he loves sin and he is e3nslaved by Satan.

Ephesians 2:8-10
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

You can see that the verse says "it is the gift of God, so that none may boast. And this is the problem for you Arminians, you demand to have something to boast about and you reject God because He left you nothing to boast about.

Well said, thank you for shedding the light of scripture on this discussion, and thank you for exposing the main problem with the modern Church. Most Ministers are not willing to preach the whole counsel of God, for fear that it may offend those who are seeking to have their lives of sin affirmed, so they can enjoy their sin.

Correct my friend . For quite some time the main theme in many churches has been
to avoid the severity of GOD . Now as they did this a incomplete and false verison of what they THINK is the goodness
of GOD was changed into something that is not good at all .
You have well written what you just wrote my friend . You see we need the WHOLE counsel of GOD
not just one side . We need to have been taught both the serverity and goodness of GOD .
For example look at the version of goodness now embraced .
Does it lead one to repentance of sins or rather into acceptance of sins .

I heard a Pastor of Mega Church, say that the God of the old testament has calmed down and He is no longer angry.

The Pastor was trying to say that God has changed or evolved, and He now accepts things that He didn't accept under the old law. He said we now enjoy Gods grace, and love because Christ restored the broken relationship we had with God in the old testament.

I get angry, when I hear these people selling their false gospel like a consumer product. They say things like God wants to bless you with all then good things, He just needs you to cooperate with Him and you can show Him you trust Him by supporting this ministry with your generous gift.

I used to support some of them myself, and I wish I could sue them to get my money back. I consider them to be no better than those scammers who steal your identity and empty your bank account.

very dark times and days have fallen upon a lot of christendom my friend .
The prophets prophesy falsey and many love to have it so .
and the wicked repent not of their wickedness for these wolves promise them life .
They can cliam to speak the words of GOD but heed them not .
For had they actually preached HIS words then the peoples had repented of their wicked ways
AND NOT RATHER HAVE EMBRACED THEM . a lie has been born of darkness and cloaked as though its light
and many walk in and by its light but have no idea that the light that is them be darkness .
marvel not , for satan is of darkness but he can appear as an angel of light and his minsitirs can appear as men of righteousness .
WE are in the last hours battle my friend . And its time to make the call to one and to all
GET IN them bibles and learn of GOD .

what i say to one i say to all
these who fleece their flocks and have set themselves up on HIGH , shall FALL in an instant and in an hour
they do not know . marvel not that the wicked seems to prosper in this world
GO ye and see within the tabernacle of GOD and their end is destruction .
rather let us pray they repent before that day comes upon them unawares and the DOOR SHUTS
and their wailing be heard in the streets .

In truth they are worse than those scammers who steal your idenitity and empty your bank account .
For these who sit high over the church folks
STEAL and do so IN THE NAME OF CHRIST JESUS . cold , LUKEWARM , hot .
WHAT DOES GOD HATE more than anything . THEY WHO DO THEIR EVIL , FOLLOW their false gods
BUT USE HIS NAME . these wolves are in far more deadly danger and have reaped
and heaped up riches in the last days , but have no idea they are miserable poor blind and naked
and have HEAPED UP MUCH WRATH upon themselves in the time to COME .
Folks i have two reminders concering such men . DO NOT HEED FOLLOW OR TRUST IN THEM
and FLEE their churches fast and take any and all that you can with you as you bolt out the door .

very dark times and days have fallen upon a lot of christendom my friend .
I used to think that the greatest enemies of Gods people, were Rock Stars, Hollywood Actors and those who practice Witchcraft and false religions like Islam. But I have since come to realize that the worst enemies of Gods people, are those in pulpits, who preach a false gospel.

As you already pointed out, they appear as righteous ministers. They preach the gospel of love, which is all inclusive and non judgmental. So it's acceptable to everyone, regardless of how you live. It doesn't require you to repent and turn away from your sinful lifestyle.

I agree, we are living in very dark times. Jesus said;

1 Tim 4 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron,

Paul described this rebellious generation in;

Romans 1:24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

Verse 24 is saying "God also gave them up to uncleanness", this suggests that God gave some up while He kept others from being overcome and ruled by their lust. I would venture to say that the reason we see so many living sinful lives, which they admit they can't change is because God gave them what they wanted and left them in their sin.
His Holy Spirit is not working in these people to transform them and conform them into the Image of His Son, as He does for those He chose to save.

I've heard people from the LGBT community, admit that they would like to be normal but they just can't change themselves. This confirms that God is the only One who can set a sinner free from slavery to sin and Satan.
Many Christians claim that an unbeliever has the ability within themselves to, repent and change who they are. But the people described in those verses prove that it's not possible for a leopard to change it's spots.

Thank you for proving my position is true by:

>failing to dissect/disprove my Luke 14:26/Matt 10:27 comparison that shows "hate" means "love less"
>resorting to ad hominem which the prideful default to when confronted by an unanswerable argument

Thank you for providing opportunity for others who might be seduced by Calvinism to learn the truth.

I've already taught you that comparing Luke 14:26 and 10:37 (in accordance with the Isaiah 28 hermeneutics principle) that "hate" can absolutely mean "love less".

You've provide nothing to disprove this and resort only to ad hominem.

The Watchman has well sounded the alarm in the hearing of your ears, so my hands are clean of your blood.

If you go back a few posts, you would see that I do believe that the word "hate" is used in many different contexts. Our dispute is over the context, in which the words "hate" and "love less" are used.
Why would Jesus use the words "love more" in Matthew, then use the word "hate", to say the same thing in Luke. He's not saying love less, that's just you're interpretation.

Sorry, but you haven't taught me anything. All you have done is share your opinion about what those scriptures are saying. I don't agree with your view, because you had to impose too much of your opinion to them.

I don't think those verses require so much to be added to them, they don't need much interpretation at all. I get the sense that they bother you, because they don't line up with your theology.

Look, just address my points, can you?

>The fact that in both Luke 14 and Matthew 10, Jesus presents IDENTICAL themes dealing with our need to prioritize Jesus over that which often receives our highest priority - family - and these two verses teach we're to both "love Jesus more than family" and "hate" family. If we interpret "hate" as "absence of love" how is there room to "love" family less than Jesus? Interpreting "hate" as "love less" perfectly harmonizes the two texts.

>The fact that we are commanded to "love thy neighbor" which includes those who are not part of the "brethren" like the Samaritan. Are we to "love" pagan Samaritans who aren't members of "the brethren" but "hate" with total absence of love for our own flesh and blood parents who don't know the Lord but are just as humanitarian as this Samaritan?
