actually there is a lot of news coming out if jerusalem now. They think they found the actual Temple Mount. They could start building any day.

It would seem to me that any expectation should be based upon Scripture, not subjective speculation. So maybe he THINKS he knows, -- but he has no clue.

But either way, from my understanding of the Prophetic Psalms timeline, we're some 29 months into the Tribulation ( -- and there's NO tribulation-ear "rapture" --), with some 13 months to go until Jesus returns.

Well there seems to be a number of people here who think we might be in the Tribulation or they think they even know the year of Christ's return and when judgement day will happen.

There has been many failed predictions though of dates when Jesus Christ will return.

So does anyone really know but God?

My favorite theologian, Sir Isaac Newton, back centuries ago had the same problem of people predicting the end times and thus discrediting the bible by misunderstood prophecies. His answer to that was:

So then the time times & half a time are 42 months or 1260 days or three years & an half, recconing twelve months to a yeare & 30 days to a month as was done in the Calendar of the primitive year. And the days of short lived Beasts being put for the years of lived [sic] kingdoms, the period of 1260 days, if dated from the complete conquest of the three kings A.C. 800, will end A.C. 2060. It may end later, but I see no reason for its ending sooner.

And he stated this to:

“put a stop the rash conjectures of fancifull men who are frequently predicting the time of the end.”

I personally see the events coming together and at a more frequent pace, even more so than as recently as 5 years ago. However, with prophecy for (us) dummies we just mainly have to watch Israel, namely Jerusalem and the temple. When that gets built (and they've been ready for quite some time now), things will move fast. I don't see yet how a temple will be built amidst the political climate, but this UAE peace deal brought about more possibilities than I initially expected. In other signs, I think there will be one last awakening/revival for the church and serious preaching, and of course you will see the immorality increase, political tensions, and natural disasters increase, etc. Since Sir Isaac Newton's date of 2060 is the end as we know it, I presume that's the start of the reign of Christ, thus the tribulation period will be in the 2050's. I'll probably be dead by then, but close enough that the mounting tensions will wreck my retirement. LOL Meanwhile, just keep witnessing for the Lord.

It more likely will wreck your current employment, comfort, and possibly existence, -- either as someone who is marytred and comes back to rule and reign for the thousand years; or someone who accepts the Mark of the Beast so that they can retain their employment, comfort, and possibly existence -- only to find that they WILL NOT enter the Millennial Kingdom.

Just a quick story. When my mom was a little girl, she went to Sunday School and never missed. In 1948 her teacher told her about the Jews being returned to their homeland. The teacher's interpretation was that this generation would not pass away before Jesus came again. Since then over 70 year have passed and the word 'generation' has been sliced, diced, poked, prodded beyond any reasonable expectation.

We should be careful how we evaluate world events while we wait with great expectation for our Lord's return.

I could give you a "Biblical" definition of how long is a generation 5 different ways. Though with Jesus having just prophesied that He would return to rescue His chosen nation before they were totally destroyed, I think that is the obvious meaning there, that this generation - the Jews - will not pass away before all these things are fulfilled.

And genea is used that way, as well as the others, it's a prefectly valid translation, a nation or people group.

You have to remember that the word itself doesn't mean at it's heart a period of time, it means "a becoming", to generate. So all who were generated from Jacob are a single generation. And this generation won't pass until all be fulfilled.

To me that's the meaning that fits the context, and actually tells us something we can understand.

At least that's how I see it.

Yes, I'm the first one to say usually, put down the newspaper and know better what the Bible says, and when it happens you will know it.

It's confusing to me seeing a verse which is ABUSED to the point of "VIOLENCE" (Ref. Newton) by Pastors and Christians. If GOD wanted to convey that we can't know ANYTHING about the timing of Jesus' return, then WHY did HE limit our KNOWLEDGE to the DAY or HOUR?!? Was this a "prank" where GOD then says: GOTCHA, and laughs?!?

And how about other Scriptures where we're told WE'RE NOT IN THE DARK so that we won't be SURPRISED?!? Isn't THAT A CLUE?


So what about individuals who have -- guessed/surmised/concluded/discerned -- incorrectly? Do their failures negate a SUCCESS? Even a TOASTER has gone through a MYRIAD of changes to get where IT IS TODAY. And if we see through a "glass darkly" then shouldn't we EXPECT some to see TREES that are actually MEN, and MEN that are actually TREES?

I'm reminded of the OLD Clairol hair color commercial which said: The closer she gets, the better she looks. So can't Scripture ALSO become more CLEAR and COMPLETE the closer we get to Jesus' Return?!?


Or, maybe so many Sermons from so many Pastors have asserted what Scripture SHOULD HAVE SAID, -- that we no longer believe WHAT IT LITERALLY SAYS.


In any case, I would propose that Scripture (the Prophetic Psalms) DOES provide a premise for knowing the YEAR, -- and I'm taking that information into account as I prepare for when we won't be able to Buy or Sell, which I anticipate is some 7 to 9 months from now. Well there seems to be a number of people here who think we might be in the Tribulation or they think they even know the year of Christ's return and when judgement day will happen.

I believe the possibility is high, for those who are watching, that we will know the year if we are alive when the beast ascends out of the bottomless pit, makes war against the saints and overcomes them, makes war against the two witnesses, overcomes them and kills them, hates the harlot city and "renders her desolate and naked, eats her flesh and burns her with fire", and finally gathers its armies to make war against the Lamb - Armageddon.

So if we are alive when the beast ascends out of the bottomless pit, we will know that there are 3 1/2 years of this age left before Christ returns - so we will know the year.

We may not know the day or the hour - but from what I've heard (but don't know if it's true) "the day or the hour that no one knows" was connected by the Jews to a 48-hour period surrounding the feast of trumpets (because the feast of trumpets could only begin when the first slither of the new moon was sighted, and that could have been any time in within a 48-hour period).

I do believe that the possibility is high that just as Passover, the day of first-fruits and feast of unleavened bread, and Shavuot (Pentecost) were prophetic "appointed times" by God, so the fall feasts - Day of Trumpets, followed by the 10 "days of awe" culminating in the Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Tabernacles (which incidentally began on this past Friday night this year), are all prophetic "appointed times" by God - so I do believe in the possibility that "the day or the hour that no man knows" points to a 48-hour period starting from the 1st day of the seventh month in the Biblical calendar, and that "the hour" begins when the first slither of the new moon appears in the sky.

I don't and have not formed "faith" in what we have not been told explicitly in the Bible, but I do bear in mind the possibility that these things are implied in the appointed times of God.

To answer your question: No one knows but God.

This appears to be ABSOLUTELY CORRECT! Given a TWO DAY FEAST, we have NO CLUE as to WHICH DAY and WHICH HOUR Jesus will return.

But this is only HALF THE ANSWER, the half which WE DON"T KNOW. And the Second HALF of the ANSWER is what we CAN KNOW, as provided by the Prophetic Psalms (Ref. J.R. Church, "Hidden Prophecies In The Psalms") which nobody is INTERESTED in DISCOVERING.

Jesus IS the Word. Therefore if we understand Scripture, then we KNOW ACCORDING TO JESUS HIMSELF!

But apparently SOME are AFRAID OF THE WORD, otherwise they might read and discover the YEAR.

Did John the Baptist know the year of the First coming? He claimed he did not even know his own cousin. He was told in the womb it would happen. How many years did John baptize in the Jordan thinking this could be the year? He did not go by the religious beliefs of his day, in fact the temple leaders wanted him dead. But he was looking for the Messiah, not any other sign to happen.

The Second Coming is this year. Not 2020, as a Calandar Date. But the year that starts with each new day. If it has not happened by next October, it would mean the Trumpets and Thunders witnessed by John are very very short. What will surprise most is John himself pointing out what the Thunders said this time, because this time the Thunders will be witnessed in real time. At least to those who are waiting until Armageddon for the rapture. The 4th 5th and 6th seal is what the church is supposed to be looking for. Not Satan or his FP and AC. The 4th seal is the tribulation of those days. Not years, or spread out over centuries. The Seals only cover the 3.5 years of the Lamb's Second Coming. The first seal was opened about a year ago. There are only 2.5 years left before Satan sets up his abomination in Jerusalem. That is if it is necessary. The church should still be praying for revival and turning from their wickedness, so God can heal their respective nations. Not wringing their hands in fear of destruction from the enemy, Satan. Satan already won, if that is all we can think about.
