Amen, for sure it was showing what our attitude is to be in ministering/serving each other. It illustrates both the servant humility with which we are to minister one to another as well as that, apparently there is going to be some washing of some kind still required even after having had the whole bath.

I believe there is a reason why Jesus taught the washing of feet at the last supper/Passover when He ordained the bread and wine to remember His death. They are both related. We are to examine ourselves before we eat of the Lord's table. In order to bring anything to the cross that needs to be repented of. To cleanse our conscience anew as needed.
I can't ever forget . . . He washed Judas' feet also! Amazing love!

Much love!

Actually , its something else.

You are to examine yourself to make certain your Faith is in Christ.... and has not slipped into "self righteousness". (Self Saving) which is why the verse says.. "many be sick".
They are not sick for taking communion while having a behavior problem... they are "sick" because their faith is wrong, and when your faith is wrong, broken, your prayer are not answered, and you STAY SICK, and. you might die .

So, just like Discipleship and everything else.. If your faith is wrong, ... its broken, and when you have broken faith, the bible locks itself, and there is no : "Christ always gives me the Victory",.... and your prayers hit the ceiling and fall to the ground.

Paul told us to make sure we are in the right Faith,= to check this... JUDE teaches the same.. He said... "Contend for the Real Faith", as there are a lot of not real faiths that people have, who are Christians, and that is why they talk about SELF Effort, instead of "made Righteous", as Their FAITH and Their SALVATION.

Titus 3:
4-5: "But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of WORKS DONE BY US IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, but according to his own mercy, by the WASHING ( this is a continuous act of.....ing) of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit." KJV
Amen...and this agrees with where it says the inward man is being renewed day by day.

Too few allow this concept, rightly dividing the word, to enter if they even study the word of God. It has been said on this site, I don't need to read or study the word of God, I have the Spirit !
Amen. The Spirit and the word agree. We need both the word and the Spirit, hand in hand. We can't understand the word without the Spirit and we need the word to test the spirits.

They were sick because they were consuming the bread and wine unworthily, not discerning the Lord's body....treating the Lord's supper as common breakfast or lunch instead of holy - which requires some preparation before approaching.

If you consume the Communion unworthily, then you are not in the right Faith..
You're in Broken Faith... as right faith, believes that Jesus is our Righteousness, and we are "made righteous" at all times.

So, when we don't know that or understand that, and take The Communion....then we take it as if we are not worthy, and that is to deny that God has made us worthy, through the Cross of Christ.
So, that is wrong faith, .. Its not faith, in Christ,... so, to have broken faith like that, is to take the Communion "unworthily". not understanding that the Lord's Body and Blood shed on the CROSS, is WHY we are always made WORTHY< because we are "the righteousness of God, in Christ"... IF< we are born again.

Taking The Communion unworthily, is to take it = not DISCERNING that Christ's CROSS (The Lord's BODY given as a Sacrifice)..... always makes us worthy to take it.

"elect according to the foreknowledge of God",

="elect" according to the FORE- Knowledge that God who knew you would Trust Christ, of your own free will .

See, its elect according to God knowing it, not causing it.

Notice , The Cross of Christ is always drawing you into the Election, by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Some won't go.
They went to hell today., and tomorrow., but they could have been a part of the Elect, had they chosen to heed that call to "come and be saved"...

Elect, according to "Foreknowledge"..... not Elect according to God Choosing some, and refusing others.

It's like we know that God is sovereign over all that happens in this world and in our lives, but that doesn't mean He causes everything,

Exactly.

Think of it like this...

Let say you are pregnant, and its 2 Twin Boys.

Tristen and Alexander

Now, is God a God of Love if He has "pre-destined" one of them to burn in the Lake of Fire, by not choosing them as one of the "pre-destined". elect?

No.

God does not do that, reader.
That is not our GOD our FATHER the One who sacrificed JESUS for our dirty rotten sins.

God looks in that womb, and KNOWS if both will believe, or if one will believe, or if neither will believe in Jesus.

He's looking at their future and their future FREE WILL.

That is God's "Fore-knowledge"... = Knowledge of everything that will happen before it happens.

His Fore-Knowledge that shows Him if both babies will turn out to be Evangelist's, or President and Vice President, is not God pre-destining that to happen, .. its God's FORE-knowing it will.

He's not electing you, He's KNOWING IT before you do it, that you will become a part of the "Elect".

And there is much evidence to affirm this . . .

Observation from Revelation: No-one who worships the beast or his image or receives his mark numbers among the Elect, but rather they number among the deceived. Having no defence against unrestrained evil and deception, many worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark, thus sealing their fate.

Affirmation from Thessalonians:

2Th 2:9-12
The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, (10) and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. (11) And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, (12) that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Rev 20:4
And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

We were not "Pre-destined" to be elected. We were pre-destined to be CONFORMED, into the image of Christ.

What is "pre-determined" in the Fore-Knowledge of God, is that the born again are pre-determined to be conformed into the Image of Christ.

That's what is "pre-determined" to happen to the elect.

The Born again Spirit that is "in Christ" down here, that is in a body that is going to the grave, is going to be changed into the image of Christ up there, and that is pre-destined" to happen to the Elect.

God's Fore-Knowledge SAW this about every believer, (Elect), before they were born., as its "pre-destined" to happen. We WILL BE CONFORMED into the Image of Christ.

I encourage you and Ritajanice to just read the scripture as written and let it speak to you, rather than letting you trying to insert your doctrine into it, which it isn't saying.

1 Cor 11:20-34

When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper.

For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.

What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.

For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:

And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.

For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.

And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.

I don't know you had time to both read and take in the scrips I posted.....that was fast.

Yes to what you brought, but we have to understand in light of the whole counsel of God. Those are not the only scriptures in the entire bible or New Testament on the matter.

I understand the Living word of God,Sis.....and this is his living word to his Born again children, we are in the righteousness of Christ.....there is NO sin in a Born Again, as the word of God says...

He is speaking to his Born again children....through the Spirit...we have been birthed...the living word of God testifies this truth to our spirit ,as we have been birthed in the Spirit....my belief 100%

It’s the Holy Spirit who testifies the truth of God’s word to us, as his living word says.

  • John 14:16-18
And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
  • John 16:13
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
  • John 14:26
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
  • John 15:26
"But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.

I

And the teacher @Behold is spot on also....he has been anointed ,no question about it...my opinion and belief..100%

Edit to add...God has taught me SO much through this teacher....he opened my eyes and ears to listen to his word through this teacher...my opinion and belief.

It's like the Old " Henry the 8th I am song"
Same old song; 2nd verse same as the first, over & over, & over again, going NOWHERE!

It really gets nauseous after a bit !
