Yes it is. The text says...

Daniel 8:13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
It would not let me edit my previous post for some reason. I deleted it and was going to repost. I won't bother and will just address this here. Verse 11 is referring back to the little horn described starting in verse 8, so there isn't an entirely new vision introduced in verse 11 as you were saying. Daniel saw one vision that went from verse 2 to verse 14. Verse 13 might be referring to one particular part of the vision, but the vision itself goes from verse 2 to verse 14. The whole vision concerns the daily sacrifice and transgression of desolation. Part of the vision is explaining what leads up to that.

Daniel 9/9 ? Do you mean Daniel 8:9 ?

If you don't want to discuss Daniel 8 with me, then okay. But I will comment on your posts when you make a reference to Daniel 8, that I think is incorrect.

Not all of Daniel 8 is past tense to us today. The parts about the little horn are time of the end and are still unfulfilled. The little horn person will be broke when he attempts to stand up against the Prince of princes - Jesus, in Daniel 8:25.

Daniel 8:25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
Your understanding of the phrase "the time of the end" in Daniel 8:17 is flawed.

Here is the beginning part of the explanation of the vision that went from verse 2 to verse 14.

Daniel 8:16 And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision. 17 So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision. 18 Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright. 19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be. 20 The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia. 21 And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.

The meaning of "the time of the end" can be seen in verse 19. It simply means "at the time appointed the end shall be". It's referring to the time appointed for the vision to be fulfilled and has nothing to do with the future near the end of the age as you believe. Notice in verses 20 and 21 that the ancient Media-Persian and Greek empires are referenced. They are included in "the time of the end", the time appointed, of the vision that Daniel saw as shown in verses 2 through 14.

yes thank you

I do not see any discussion happening, I tried to discuss daniel 8 verse by verse. and did not really get any discussion back. I also offered to go through the rest of Daniel 8, and got no response.
Not all of Daniel 8 is past tense to us today.
This is incorrect. And I have prety much proven this And again will continue if you wish.. But I will not just take your word for it
The parts about the little horn are time of the end and are still unfulfilled.
Yes they are, the end of Antiochus epiphanies reign happened exactly as Daniel 8 said it would. includin gthe cleansing of the temple. which he defiled

Again, this is not true, Antiochus would be used as a type of the future prince, who will do the same things and even be called the little horn. But everything told in Dan 8 was literally fulfilled.

Israel stood up against him (the maccabean revolt) which you can read about in the book of Maccabees, although it is not scripture. it is a good reference and historical account of how Antiochus actions in defiling the temple. caused a revolt. and I am not sure if it is there, or in other texts (I cannot remember) but even the 2300 days were literally fulfilled from the time Antiochus defiled the temple, until it was cleansed by Judas Maccabeus in 164 BC

And also the fact, that he did not die from human hands, ( the jews who revolted did not kill him) But he died insane in persia in 163 BC

Then start a new thread on Daniel 8, and be sure to identify which parts of Daniel 8 are time of the end.
so in other words.

Make sure if you want to discuss Daniel 8 to put Douggg's interpretation of it.. And leave the other interpretations out. shaking my head..

The whole vision concerns the daily sacrifice and transgression of desolation. Part of the vision is explaining what leads up to that.
Please read through this to find out where the activities of the little horn are called a vision.

Daniel 8:1-2 Daniel has a vision

Historic to us....

Daniel 8:3-4 The kings of the Medes and Persians (read verse 20)

Daniel 8:5 The Greeks and Alexander the Great

Daniel 8:6-7 Alexander defeat the Medes and Persians

Daniel 8:8 Alexander dies and his Greek empire kingdom broken up into 4 lesser kingdoms (read verse 22)

Future to us....

Daniel 8:9 The time of the end little horn waxes strong to the south and east toward Israel. (the prince that shall come)

Daniel 8:10 The little horn waxed himself great - even against the Jews. (As the revealed man of sin)

Daniel 8:11 The little horn magnifies himself even to the prince of the host in heaven (Jesus) And takes away the daily sacrifice. (he declares that he has achieved God-hood)

Daniel 8:12 He commits the transgression of desolate.

Daniel 8:13 Daniel hears one of the saints in heaven questioning another saint in heaven -How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?

okay, right there ! The calling of the actions of the little horn as the vision concerning the daily sacrifice stopped and the transgression of desolation - a vision - is by one of the saints (in heaven, presumed).

Daniel 8:13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?

The same saint responded and said to Daniel...

Daniel 8:14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

As usual, you just ignore everything I say and don't address it. Where does it say that a new vision is introduced in verse 11? It doesn't. Again, verse 11 refers to the little horn who started being described in verse 9, so you can't say that verse 11 starts a new vision. You try to say that Daniel 8:11-13 is its own vision but don't allow that Daniel 9:24-27 is its own vision. What a joke. You just make scripture say what you want it to say over and over again.

Agree. But it helps if you actually study also. Some things you can know are in error. But you have to open your mind
Yes, to have an open mind to the mind of Christ within us.
Not many are doing that. They are running on their own mind.
If it is a prophecy it still must be fulfilled literally. Not as a type
The prophecy of Daniels vision of the AoD WAS FULFILLED!!
Antiochus Epiphanese lV, in 165+/- BC. was the person and the event of the AoD that Jesus was pointing to!! You can see it in the Jewish historical account of 1 Maccabees.

But Jonah was not a prophecy, and yes, Jesus used it to represent him.. But you can not use this here
We most definitely can use Jonah here!!!
Jonah was a prophet of the LORD. Jonah 1:1-3.
Regardless of what Jonah did or did not do, Jonah was chosen of the LORD for His purposes, and was spared of his own death in the sea, by the great fish provided to him by the LORD.

Listen to the word Jesus used for that story, pointing to Himself: Mat. 12
[39] But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
....but a greater than Jonah is HERE.

Now listen to what the Jews asked of Jesus, in John 2[18] Then answered the Jews and said unto him What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?
[19] Jesus answered and said unto them, [through the sign of the AoD in Daniel] Destroy [desolate] this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

[20] Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building [by King Herod, due to the event of the AoD by Antiochus Epiphanese], and wilt thou rear it up in three days? [Mat. 21:12]
[21] But he spake of the temple of his body [pointing to Himself].

Q. What sign was Jesus pointing to in Daniel?
A. The literal AoD committed by Antiochus Epiphanese lV in 165 BC.+/-.

Jesus said, When you see the Abomination of desolation. spoken of by Daniel. STANDING in the Holy Place (let the reader understand)

so he was pointing or talking to himself?
Jesus was pointing to Himself, ABOUT HIMSELF!
DO WHAT??
???

Only Because Jonah repented. Just like we all have to repent. If Jona did not repent, we would not even know his name

No, now you are adding to the word. he said literally, tear this down and in three days it will be built back up. Anto his did not destroy the temple. Nebachadnezar did, as did Titus

Again, Open mind

lol..

You completely twisted Jesus words. And added something that is not there.

Again, OPEN MIND

Destroy this temple.

Babylon and Titus did this very thing,, If anything Jesu would be pointing to Babylon, but hw was not. He did not have to because Daniel said, Messiah will be cut off (killed) then (40 years later) the people of the prince who is to come will DESTROY THE VERY TEMPLE JESUS POINTED TO.

The Daniel 11:31 prophecy of the abomination of desolation was fulfilled by Antiochus IV.

But not the time of the end Daniel 12:11 prophecy of the abomination of desolation. That is still unfulfilled.

be careful you are not one of them
You would like to think so, but I learned the hard way of the difference between my mind and the Lord's mind within me. My faith does not stand in the wisdom of men any longer, but rather by the power [authority] of the Holy Spirit of God. You should re-study all of 1 Cor. 2.
No it was not.. Jesus called it a future event, not a past event// This is what I mean about keeping an opened mind.. You should know by Jesus wn words that that was not the AOD jesus spoke of

Jesus said, when you see (future tense)
And those present at His cross, SAW "the abomination of desolation" committed against His mortal body, that the hands of the Jews had done, by shedding the innocent blood of Christ. Prov. 6:16-17.
next

No we can not. Because that was historical. It was not prophetic.
Then you do not understand the historical of WHEN the prophetic is fulfilled at any time!!
Antiochus Epiphanes lV was indeed that "little horn". The AoD Prophecy was fulfilled, which is to emphatically say that there is NO FUTURE little horn to come, ever again!!

The AoD, being ALREADY fulfilled, Jesus used it in typology, revealing that the desolation that was to take place, was the destruction of His TEMPLE of His mortal body!! John 2
Only Because Jonah repented. Just like we all have to repent. If Jona did not repent, we would not even know his name

No, now you are adding to the word. he said literally, tear this down and in three days it will be built back up. Anto his did not destroy the temple. Nebachadnezar did, as did Titus

I have twisted nothing!
Again, you have not accessed the mind of Christ for the correct understanding. Get back to all of 1 Cor. 2, and "by His Spirit", study hard.

The words of Christ, through Paul in Rom. 8:9, ARE NOT "empty" words, but is a severe warning to those who ARE "EMPTY", and have learned the scriptures by "the wisdom of men".

View attachment 49516

So you think the abomination of Desolation of Daniel and Mattew 24 is a statue image of the beast that can talk and cause many people who refuse to worship it to be physically killed?! Do you think that is what God talks about here?

I don't think that you are spiritually following along too well [1 Cor. 2], with what the Holy Spirit is revealing about the "temple of Christ's [mortal] body", in KJV John 2:18-22.

[18] Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?
[19] Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy [desolate] this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

You would like to think so,
I actually was not thinking anything, Was just making a suggestion I would make to anyone, including myself.
but I learned the hard way of the difference between my mind and the Lord's mind within me. My faith does not stand in the wisdom of men any longer, but rather by the power [authority] of the Holy Spirit of God. You should re-study all of 1 Cor. 2.
You still should make sure it is not you talking to yourself. Many people say they listen only to the HS, yet they all have different beliefs, they can not all be listening to the HS..
And those present at His cross, SAW "the abomination of desolation" committed against His mortal body, that the hands of the Jews had done, by shedding the innocent blood of Christ. Prov. 6:16-17.
Um, Actually it was the Romans who nailed him to the cross. Who beat him to an inch of his life. who placed the crown of thorns on his head. Not the Jews.. This is exactly what I meant when I said we need to listen to what we are saying, because we can determine many times real quick that something does not add up.

Also. This is not an "abomination" (An Idle, An Unclean thing, A pagan God, a Monster) which caused desolation of a holy place.. So this is the second clue that what you are saying does not add up.

1. God said it WILL happen again
2. Jesus said it was yet future "When you see the abomination of desolation spoken of By Daniel. RUN.. For then their will be great tribulation. So severe, that for the sake of the elect. And for the fact that all life on earth would die if God did not react. Jesus returns himself and puts an end to it

Once again, If you would just read the words. You would see quite quickly there are huge flaws in your belief system, things do not add up
I have twisted nothing!
Again, you have not accessed the mind of Christ for the correct understanding. Get back to all of 1 Cor. 2, and "by His Spirit", study hard.
I would say you are the one who has failed to do this. Not me, I just take God at his word.

when he says it will happen. It will. If I have not seen it happen yet. I am not going to make up some story and say it really did happen, ina symbolic way..

Because that is not how we every interpret prophecy
The words of Christ, through Paul in Rom. 8:9, ARE NOT "empty" words, but is a severe warning to those who ARE "EMPTY", and have learned the scriptures by "the wisdom of men".
Take heed of these words. search yourself. and take your own advice.

What you are saying and scripture do not line up..

Scripture itself should show you you are listening to yourself and not to God.

Excuse me sir. I believe I follow along wiht what God says quite well.

Now what you say, I can not follow. because what you say does not line up with what scripture says.

I must put scripture above you.
[18] Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?
[19] Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy [desolate] this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
[20] Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?
[21] But he [Jesus] spake of the temple of his [mortal] body.
[22] When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
Yes,

But this is not an abomination that causes desolation.

The temple was destroyed (in this case Jesus died)

and in three days he was risen.

Thats not the same as an abomination (idle or unclean thing) placed in a holy place rendering it desolate (unclean)

I suggest you look up the defenition of an AOD.. Not just in some english language dictionary, But in the hebrew and the greek..

Because your interpretation does not line up with the real interpretion.

and please. stop telling me to listen to the spirit when you refuse to

Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

When the abomination of desolation (a statue image of the beast-king) is set up (Daniel 12:11), it triggers the beginning of the great tribulation.

Revelation 20:4
  • And I saw thrones, and they set upon them, and judgment was given unto them. And I saw the souls of them which were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the Word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither has received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands, and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
First, you need to realize that John does "NOT" say he saw the martyrs, nor does he say that he saw their bodies or the persons, or he saw souls (which could be illustrating people). He is very specific! Be careful. He saw the souls "OF" those who were beheaded for the witness of God. The souls of them, nothing more! Again, this is the Spiritual picture that the Lord is giving us. First the Messenger of the Covenant comes from heaven and binds Satan so that the New Covenant Church can be built, and then John sees the souls of those martyred raised up to reign with Christ on thrones. In other words, they are made kings and Priests unto God after Christ binds Satan. If you look at verse 5 you'll see that this (the souls of these martyrs up on thrones) is called The First Resurrection. It's now a simple matter of Biblical deduction to discover exactly when and what was "The First Resurrection?" Selah!

These Souls were raised up to reign with Christ because of the work at the cross and Christ's resurrection thereafter. Christ is the "First" Resurrection. Those who have part in the first resurrection are all the True Believers who have part in Christ's First Resurrection. They are the First Resurrection (the second being at Christ's return). Those who have died in Christ have gone to be with the Lord, having been raised with Christ to reign. That's the First Resurrection these martyrs have part in, which precludes the second death.

Study scripture carefully leaning upon it's Words alone (Sola Scriptura) and the Holy spirit will guide you into truth. Accept the words of men and of Church traditions and you set yourself up for a great fall by building upon unsound foundation. Souls of those who are beheaded for Christ's sake do not rise up out of the earth to reign literally in Jerusalem. The Saints upon their death immediately go to Heaven to Reign with Christ! The teaching that this chapter says souls are literally reigning on earth in Jerusalem, is untenable. But it's repeated so often that those who do not carefully compare Theologians words with the scriptures, have actually told me that this was explicitly written there. i.e., they heard it so much that they really think that this verse actually says that. In Reality John says (the Word of God says) that he saw souls "of" the martyred, reigning! He saw the souls of those killed (Beheaded). Not Souls (which could be people), and not Martyrs, but the "Souls, of the martyrs!" And since when does souls of the dead Martyrs reign on the earth? Why would a soul apart from his body, be reigning in a literal city in the middle east? These souls reign in the Jerusalem from above, not in an earthly nation, Holy City, or Holy Temple. A Spiritual Holy Nation, the Jerusalem from above (Gal. 4:26).

But isn't it typical that Pretribulation Rapture or Anytime Rapture Theorists are the ones insisting we have to take this verse absolutely literally for what it says. But when it says the Souls of the martyrs who die for Christ's sake, go to reign with Christ, they now curiously don't see that as literal souls of dead people. They amazingly see this as literal earthly people reigning with Christ on earth. Here they curiously don't want to take it literally as souls of the dead, as it literally states. And so they RE-interpret (privately interpret) this to mean literal people reigning on earth with Christ. He who hath eyes to see, let him see that this is obviously not what the verse "literally" says.

So much for the alleged literal interpretation of it. So let us take a careful verse by verse look at what Revelation chapter 20 really says. And discern what it really means by a careful biblical reasoned comparison of scripture with scripture, symbolism with symbolism, Word with Word. Let us in humble submission let God's Word interpret God's Word. It is the only way to really understand what the book of revelation means..

And no, it is not a statue made of stones. The image is a likeness of the beast. Do you know what is the likeness of the beast means? The beast is not "beast-king" made of one man with supernatural power. The beast with two horns like a lamb is the body of false christs and teachers of the unfaithful church that teaches false doctrine. So the people worship it as if they are buying their doctirnes - the buying and selling! Only those who have not yet seal of God will be deceived to have the mark of the beast on their right hand (will) and on the forehead (of same mind) of the beast. This is what the Lord is talking about here! For example, when the false prophet say that the women should be allowed to be pastors of the church, the audience agreed to it so they worship the IMAGE or likness of the false prophets and christs. It is not about physical mark in order to buy food. Selah!
