It's time YOU stop disobeying Christ, who told the leaders of the Church:

Matt. 18:15-18
Amen, I say to you, WHATEVER YOU BIND on earth shall be bound in heaven, and WHATEVER YOU LOOSE on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Luke 10:16
Whoever listens to YOU listens to ME. Whoever rejects YOU rejects ME. And whoever rejects ME rejects the ONE who sent ME."
DB, "binding and loosing" refers to heaven putting it's stamp of approval upon the actions of church leaders WHO ACT IN ACCORDANCE WITH WHAT HAS ALREADY BEEN ESTABLISHED AS BIBLICAL ACTION.

IOW, if the church votes to disfellowship (what you guys call "exommunicate") an exposed child pedophile and the voting is based on the plainly defined terms laid out in Scripture by God, then God approves of such action taken by the church.

"Binding and loosing" does not refer to men acting presumptuously apart from God, expecting God to go along with their "wisdom" of action.

There is no greater corrupted translation in English than KJV!

The idea that Jesus turned water into grape juice at a wedding is absurd. What an insult it is to God, supposing he does not know the difference between grape juice and wine, which is an alcoholic beverage, by definition.
To the contrary, the Textus Receptus is the BEST NT and the Masoretic does it justice, as well.

Nobody in their right mind thinks the Western Family MSS or the Alexandrian Family MSS (which is pretty juch identical to it) is worth anything but consignment to the trash can where they found that filthy Codex Sinaticus before the monks could use up all of it for kindling the fireplace.

How do you KNOW if it's booze just by looking at it? Is THAT your whole 'philosophy' of LIFE? That if something 'looks' a certain way, it MUST be the way *you* perceive it?

Forget about Faith Alone. You really DO HATE...

...based on 'LOOKS' Alone...:(
Solomon says when it's "red" and "turned" and "moving" - it's booze. Booze is dark red and bubbles and "moves" as it's fermenting.

If we're honest with ourselves, it's easy to see what Solomon is talking about.

He's talking about "red eyes" and unfortunate things that happen to people who are drunk....BY DRINKING BOOZE! ;)

You are off topic and desperate, a common derailer tactic used when anti-Catholics get their lies exposed, but I will address your off topic abuse of Scripture anyway. ..

Jesus doesn't condemn repetition, He condemns VANITY. Abusing Scripture to attack authentic practices is as vain as one can get, but you don't get it, as you, Pate, and amigo are poisoned by the venom of Alexander Hislop, a proven liar even by Protestant basic precepts.

1 Thess. 5:17 – Paul commands us to pray constantly. Good repetition is different than vain repetition.

Rev. 4:8 – the angels pray day and night without cessation the same words “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty.” This is repetitious prayer that is pleasing to God.

Psalm 136 – in this Psalm, the phrase “For His steadfast love endures forever” is more repetitious than any Catholic prayer, and it is God’s divine Word.

Dan. 3:35-66 – the phrase “Bless the Lord” is similarly offered repeatedly, and mirrors Catholic litanies.

Fashioning weapons from Scripture at attack authentic practices is a form of witchcraft, IMO. You scourge my Lord's body with Scripture. You and your ilk will do it again because you guys are too vain to be corrected.
Hello @Illuminator,
May the Truth of God thru the LORD Jesus Christ fill your heart with Truth and Understanding that you may grow in Faith and Love towards the LORD Jesus Christ.

Hail Mary.........
Hail Mary.........

Hail Mary.........

Catholic Congregant says: Father forgive me for I have sinned, my last confession was......................
Priest says: pray 10 'Hail Marys' and 10 'Our Father' = repetitious prayer for forgiveness of sins = Heathen practices

But are you walking in "obedience of faith" in Christ?

JESUS says: "And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do.
For they think that they will be heard for their many words."
Matthew 6:7

The Greek word "βαττολογέω" used in Matthew 6:7 has several meanings (From Strong's): "945 battologéō – properly, to blubber nonsensical repetitions; to chatter (be "long-winded"), using empty (vain) words (Souter)."

Matthew 26:39-44: "
39Going a little farther, He fell facedown and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me. Yet not as I will, but as You will.”

40Then Jesus returned to the disciples and found them sleeping. “Were you not able to keep watch with Me for one hour?” He asked Peter. 41“Watch and pray so that you will not enter into temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”

42A second time He went away and prayed, “My Father, if this cup cannot pass unless I drink it, may Your will be done.” 43And again Jesus returned and found them sleeping—for their eyes were heavy.

44So He left them and went away once more and prayed a third time, saying the same thing.

Jesus prayed the same prayer THREE times. Was he "blubbering" because he repeated his prayer? Were HIS three prayers "vain repetition"? Nonsensical repetition? Long-winded? Empty?

You say that you're a former member of the RCC. So, when you said the Rosary, or prayers you were given in Confession, were you merely saying them by rote...QUICKLY...just to get them over with so you could go about your day? If that's the case, then no wonder you're a former member.

I am not answering for David in NJ but I am answering for all the times I sat through a Mass and heard ad nauseum repeated over and over again.....

Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.

Were they merely saying them by rote....QUICKLY...just to get them over with.

Yes. YES. Because it was a responsive saying and it had a zero pause between womb and Jesus.

I guess this was to honor and bless Jesus?

But it always sounds... even today... like they are saying blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. AS IF JESUS HAD A WOMB.

This is not a confessional Hail Mary repetition... this is a responsive Hail Mary repetition that makes one wonder if those praying are thinking about where they are and for what reason or more about getting home to the game, or making dinner, or going out for brunch.

And not just the parishioner but are led this way.

BTW> I am not Catholic but because of family have had the necessity to attend Mass in a number of different RCC and they all are the same.

So YOU absolutely have the perfect description ..."The Greek word "βαττολογέω" used in Matthew 6:7 has several meanings (From Strong's): "945 battologéō – properly, to blubber nonsensical repetitions; to chatter (be "long-winded"), using empty (vain) words (Souter)." ... cause

Hail, Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

I am so grateful to our heavenly Father and to His Son, Christ Jesus to whom I can go and directly pray.
And what I ask, in Jesus name, Jesus does to glorify the Father. This is so very true.

Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.

Catholicism is a work of the law. The law requires that you do a lot of religious things. Paul said, "Christ is the end of the law for righteousness for those that believe" Romans 10:4. You apparently believe.

Interesting...since The Hail Mary isn't part of the Catholic Mass. Occasionally, a priest might insert a Hail Mary in a Mass, such as during Mother's Day (for example). But if you heard a priest saying the Hail Mary as a regular part of Mass, he wasn't exactly following the order of the Mass. Plus, it would depend on where in the order of the Mass he was inserting the prayer, and/or, whether he was actually replacing other prayers with the Hail Mary.

Also, many churches will allow for public prayer time prior to or after Mass. My own church has a large Hispanic presence, and many Hispanic people are very devoted to Mary. Hence, The Rosary is usually said (out loud) right before the Mass. It is not something that we are required to participate in.

LOL! Yet, you KNOW that there's a pause (a comma) between 'womb' and Jesus.

I agree that some priests will do this. We used to have a priest who a friend and I dubbed as "Speedy Gonzalez." We gave him that name because he 'sped' through the Mass each day. One day I timed him...only took him 22 minutes to get through the entire Mass! Then again, after saying the same prayers day after year, decade after decade, I guess the prayers can become so familiar...kind of like, learnng a song that you really like. You may like the song, learn the words, and take it to heart what the song means to you. After a while, you don't even think about the meaning anymore. But even if you don't always think about the meaning, doesn't necessarily mean, the meaning isn't there.
BTW> I am not Catholic but because of family have had the necessity to attend Mass in a number of different RCC and they all are the same.
Really? Ever been to a Hispanic Mass? Filipino Mass? How about a Maronite Mass or a Latin Mass?

The thing about Catholicism is that it encompasses other churches besides the Latin Church. What you posted is the version of the Hail Mary that's said within Latin Churches. The Eastern Catholic Church has a similar prayer: "Mother of God and Virgin, rejoice, Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, for thou hast given birth to the Savior of our souls."

Good Morning @Mink57,

First, notice that JESUS did not pray three times at once but that it was three prayers at three separate times.

Secondly, praying repetitiously can never absolve a person of their sins = God rejects this vain attempt to please Him.

Thirdly, it is the prayer of faith that God hears and moves upon = never by robotic repetitions such as the rosary beads.

David in NJ fully participated in Roman Catholic education, instruction and practice since conception, as both my parents were also full Roman Catholic practitioners.

Why do you have a problem with people repeating Scripture?

No, not the priest... the congregation as part of a response... Priest makes a statement and this is the response.

I heard that more then once in in St Patricks RCC church, I heard that in St Benedict the Abbot RCC church a multiple number of times.

Maybe it is a PA thing?

Thanks for your opinion, David.

I can't find anything in Scripture that backs up your opinions, but I did find Scripture that backs up what @Mink57 said. Mink57 taught you well....You should listen to him AND Scripture:

In Isaiah 6:3 the seraphim repeatedly chant the prayer “holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts”.

Psalm 136 repeats the phrase “for his steadfast love endures forever” twenty-six times in twenty-six verses.

Three with one voice they praised and glorified and blessed God while in the furnace and prayed 31 times “Bless the Lord . . . sing praise to him and highly exalt him forever” (Daniel 3:35-68).

In Revelation 4:8 the angels chant “day and night.”

Also, your theory is not supported by Scripture that Jesus prayed O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt ONCE, got up off his knees, walked over to the Apostles to chastise them, went back and prayed ONCE the same prayer, got up off his knees, went back to the Apostles and chastised them again and then went back to pray the same prayer ONCE!! You have twisted Scripture to fit what your Protestant men have taught you. Your theory (opinion) isn't even logical.

Keeping it real with logic and Scripture instead of opinions......Mary

Sigh....

St. Patricks RCC church , Saint Oscar Romero Parish ~ Pike Street in Canonsburg PA 15317 BTW... Hometown of Bobby Vinton and Perry Como if you are old enough to know of them

St Benedict the Abbot RCC church ,St. John XXIII Parish ~ McMurray Pa also 15317

Now in full disclosure... trying to remember back to the last time... it is possible that the ones in Canonsburg
were funeral services because family for the most part is RC and they for the most part got buried from there
after a funeral mass.

As to St Bens... There too cause I remember mentioning to mom that someone needs to slow them down and put the emphasis on Jesus and not Mary. But I dont know anyone who was buried from there. I was there for
regular services, and 10 first Holy Communions... ( Close friend is very obedient)and 2 baptisms which did not have anything like a mass.

The other Baptism was for my mom's godson at The Spiritan Center, south of the city of Pittsburgh in Bethel Park, and is a ministry of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit.

It is also a retirement center for retired priests.

And again... the service was sa joyously festive one as should be..... And definitely Roman Catholic.

It was leaving there, one day when we went to have a mass said for a family member who was dieing and
I am reasonable certain we met an angel or a messenger of God.

It is an interesting story and someday Ill share.

OH... before I forget... please give us Protestants the scripture reference for "That entire sentence you quoted is from Scripture!!" I'm not saying it is not there... but it needs to be said mpore slowly and deliberately.

I have no problem repeating scripture... You read me... I do it all the time.... including what Jesus has told us
in Mathew 6...
9 “Pray, then, in this way:

‘Our Father, who is in heaven,
[d]Hallowed be Your name.

And

John 14

13 And whatever you ask in My name, this I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.

Hey David,

Previously you said that God called you out of The Church and Saved you! Why did you leave The Catholic Church? What did God tell you that the Catholic Church was teaching wrong? What Church did you end up going too?

You previously stated that Catholicism is evil and you've said some very vile things about The Church. Have you ever wondered why your parents raised you up into a vile and evil church? Do you believe your parents were brainwashed?

Curious Mary

BEST LAUGH of the DAY = @Marymog says: "I can't find anything in Scripture that backs up your opinions,"

#1 - Scripture does not support Catholic opinions or anyone's opinions!

#2 - There is no Daniel 3:35-68 = only more catholic opinions

#3 - Unfortunately, you do not understand why the angels say Holy Holy Holy.

regular services, and 10 first Holy Communions...

Thanks Rella,

I think that you were not in a Mass when you heard the Rosary.....That's my best guess!! You were in a Catholic church, but not during Mass.

Also, why do you have a problem with people repeating words from Scripture (the Hail Mary)?

I edited my reply to explain. The edit obviously did not take.

I asked you where in scripture are those words.

And I said Jesus told us to pray to the Father. John 14: 13 And whatever you ask in My name, this I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.

And how to pray in Mathew 6: 9 “Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name......

No, not the priest... the congregation as part of a response... Priest makes a statement and this is the response.

I heard that more then once in in St Patricks RCC church, I heard that in St Benedict the Abbot RCC church a multiple number of times.

Maybe it is a PA thing?

No, not a PA thing. I live in Las Vegas, and ONE priest at my church used to say the Hail Mary at Mass regularly. My mom absoLUTELY hated it! And as I looked around the church, I could see a LOT of parishioners who simply kept their mouths closed during those 15 seconds.

A few years ago, I read some article online (have looked for it since, but haven't found it) that the Vatican issued some document that discouraged priests from saying the Hail Mary during Mass.
