I find this plant disgusting and it tastes really yucky Cilantro (Coriander) is a spice or a herb I will individually pick out from a plate if I taste it. Does anyone else have a problem with it? :goodn:

It's amazing, unless you're in the group of people who for some reason taste it as soap. Then it's not.

I love Cilantro in Mexican food. It gives it a fresh zesty taste.
Cilantro is definitely a staple at our favorite Mexican restaurant.

One of my former coworkers who was of Puerto Rican decent used Cilantro in just about EVERYTHING. That's apparently pretty common around the Carribean islands.

Well it tastes like citrus in a cake of soap to me and apparently "A small percentage of people have a genetic predisposition to taste cilantro as soapy or metallic, which is caused by how their taste receptors interpret certain chemicals in the herb"

And there's a "Genetic factor: The difference in cilantro taste perception is largely attributed to genetics, meaning some people are simply more likely to experience the "soapy" flavor than others."

It's strong and when over used, as it often is, it takes over the flavor of whatever is being eaten. I like it sometimes but in its proper amount so that it compliments the dish rather than ANNIHILATE it.

Yes! I can't stand the taste, tastes like plastic. I looked it up one time and found that we are not alone, many people have an aversion to it.
I guess it's like liver, love it or hate it.
