Born Again or Christian? Is there a difference and what is your biblical support ?

Born Again...that is the word of God that I stand.

Jesus was pretty vague about this γεννηθῇ ἄνωθεν, being "born from above" stuff. He said the πνεῦμα ("spirit" or "wind") blows where it likes, and you hear it, but you don't know where it comes from or where it's going. (John 3:8) We don't know when it comes or how to get it.

So why worry about it?

Jesus explains to Nicodemus how to be Born Again and it’s not like this.

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Man has made this to say what they want it to say...above....

Only those who have been brought to believe by God, will become Born Again like Jesus explains to Nicodemus below.
They were chosen by God and predestined to become Born Again....we are predestined sheep, Born Again.







This is how we are Born of the Spirit....exactly as Jesus explains to Nicodemus....a Born Again completely understands this.

How can you expect your son to become born again if you do not tell him how?

If we do not do what we are told. we may think we are born again, But we are no more born again than a pharisee. before he did what Jesus told him to do

Redeemed, justified, Sanctified, Washed, Atoned for. His child. Adopted. Sealed by his spirit.

I am also his follower. Hence by definition, I am a true christian.

God is the initiator and if it’s his will that my Son is Born Again he will be...there is no choice in the matter....
God does it all.....those who has chosen and predestined to become his sheep...the Born Again.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

Those that don't accept the whole counsel of God... may think the Lord is "vague" concerning being born again.

That's because the enemy continually works to muddy the waters to try to confuse as many as possible.

Those are your words....that is not how Jesus tells us we are Born Again...that you say above is true...once we have become Born of the Spirit and not before I’m afraid.

Can a person trust Jesus, even if they've never had a definitive experience that they can point to and say, "Yes, this is when I became spiritually regenerated. This is when I was "born from above"?

This is one of the issues I've had with the Evangelical culture's fixation on being "born again". You can trust Jesus to save you all you want, but if you haven't been "born again", you're going to hell. Sucks to be you, don't it?

So I can be born again (have the wage of sin removed) and not know the gospel or Christ.

I think @Red Baker was nearly there with his comments but they may have got a bit muddled.

He said, "All true Christians are born again, not all born again are Christian in the true sense of the meaning of Christians."

I think what he may have meant is, All true Christians are born again, but not all who call themselves Christian are born again. So are not Christians in the true sense.

And apologies to red Baker if I misunderstood.

This is all true...but, it must be understood in its proper context Born Again then we are redeemed,justified,Sanctified, washed and atoned..adopted then we are sealed by his Spirit ..not before I’m afraid.

You left the most imperative part out, “ Born Again of imperishable seed “....you have put the cart before the horse.
