And that is what I am doing.
I am glad about that Debp. However, there are others who do not understand that Jeremiah 50-51 speaks of the present situation in the USA and Australia where, as part of the Coalition of the Willing in 2003, Iraq was invaded to "heal" the land of Iraq/Babylon instead of going into the land of Babylon to destroy it; by acting God like in our respective endeavours. Because of the primary sin of the members of the Coalition of the Willing, God decreed this: -
Jeremaih 51:12-16: -
12 Set up the standard on the walls of Babylon;
Make the guard strong,
Set up the watchmen,
Prepare the ambushes.
For the Lord has both devised and done
What He spoke against the inhabitants of Babylon.
13 O you who dwell by many waters,
Abundant in treasures,
Your end has come,
The measure of your covetousness. [1]
14 The Lord of hosts has sworn by Himself:
"Surely, I will fill you with men, as with locusts/who devour much,
And they shall lift up a shout against you."
15 He has made the earth by His power;
He has established the world by His wisdom,
And stretched out the heaven by His understanding.
16 When He utters His voice —
There is a multitude of waters in the heavens:
"He causes the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth;
He makes lightnings for the rain;
He brings the wind out of His treasuries.[2]"
The consequences of turning against God and acting God like in our endeavours can take 10 to 20 years to be felt. Because of the time delay in the consequences of our sin of turning away from God and acting God like, we do not remember that we sinned and as such, must face the consequences of our sins. In 2003 the respective churches in our lands gave silent approval to the invasion of Iraq to heal the land instead of destroying it. The respective churches in countries need to humble themselves and repent of their primary sin against God.
Shalom
[1] It is my opinion that God is speaking of the member nations of the Coalition of the willing, lead by the USA President.
[2] It is my view that Jeremaih is speaking of the issues associated with climate change.
