"The U.S. Department of State will partner with the India Semiconductor Mission, Ministry of Electronics and IT, Government of India to explore opportunities to grow and diversify the global semiconductor ecosystem under the International Technology Security and Innovation (ITSI) Fund, created by the CHIPS Act of 2022" Technical Difficulties
"In the one year since CHIPS was signed into law, companies have announced over $166 billion in manufacturing in semiconductors and electronics, and at least 50 community colleges in 19 states have announced new or expanded programming to help American workers access good-paying jobs in the semiconductor industry." FACT SHEET: One Year after the CHIPS and Science Act, Biden-Harris Administration Marks Historic Progress in Bringing Semiconductor Supply Chains Home, Supporting Innovation, and Protecting National Security | The White House
Now as a Christian conservative I do like the idea of India become and allowing a Christian acceptance where their citizen's desire.
I also saw a problem in ethics and morality regarding this act. As I'm not sure it is following the separation of church and state Federal Laws. I will explain:
Rise in Attacks on Christians in India
From the article:
New Delhi: On Thursday, September 7, the United Christian Forum (UCF) – a civil society organisation focused on Christian issues, based in Delhi – released a stunning statistic: there have been 525 attacks against Christians in India just in the first eight months of 2023.
...
The numbers for this year are likely to be particularly high, given the violence in Manipur – where hundreds of churches have been destroyed in the last four months. A petition in the Supreme Court puts the figure of places of worship destroyed at 642. The Archbishop of Imphal in June said 249 churches were destroyed in just 36 hours. The UCF data does not include incidents from Manipur.
“All these incidents of violence are by mob violence led by so called vigilante groups of particular faith who are allegedly receiving support from people in power,” the UCF said in a press release.
According to the 2011 Census, Christians make up about 2.3% of India’s population.
-------------------------------------------------------
Now I'm not an expert in United States Laws regarding church and state separation, but one might logically and ethically deduce that supporting any country that commits atrocious crimes against Christians is some form of enabling or supporting those crimes by not demanding those crimes be stopped if business is going to continue. There are various methods governments use to that affect of punishing countries that do not comply with those directives.
-----------------------------------------------------
I did see a general direction for the Conservative Republicans to, I think, disengage with Chinese microchip manufacture and also begin using USA based operations to promote USA prosperity and general country economic value for international trade and also create a strong employment system.
I then wondered what, if any, crimes against Christians that China was committing, so I looked it up:
The Plight of Christians in China
"In its 2022 Annual Report, USCIRF recommended the U.S. Department of State redesignate China as a “Country of Particular Concern” (CPC) for engaging in systematic, ongoing, and egregious violations of religious freedom. While the U.S. government designated the Chinese government’s ongoing atrocities against Uyghurs as genocide, China continues to severely persecute many different religious groups throughout the country, including Catholic and Protestant Christians."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I know there has been some concern in the various "two party" political system regarding oversees and foreign relations and moneys. Including "China" and "Russia". Which anyone can look up on the internet regarding the continual accusation between the democrats and the republicans.
So "what about India"?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The religions of India and China are both not looking that great about false god worship, in the sense of "not making God jealous" as he actually is the Only God and also their creator and redeemer.
I think we should not only pray for China and India but also our government. Let's hope under the current nuclear war threat climate, things de-escalate.
Cheers for now, your fellow Christian.
