Thank you.....Don't know what an agnostic is......I believe in a real, resurrected Christ....

Are you refering to the one that is written about in the Bible?.....the very book that I quoted a scripture from that you were casting doubt about? How can that be considering what you said to me earlier? This is what you said to me...."You post what you accept as being written in stone....Have you heard Him say any of these things to you ?" So, I'm turning your question back at you by asking you, have you seen Jesus to know He is real and was resurrected?

People don't want to change and they decide for themselves that they are right and need nothing changed and need nothing else... not even from God.
Yes this is true......I had been convinced that the whole concept of an invisible Creator in the 'sky', was nothing more than superstition, until I was shown otherwise .....I thank Him to this day ( more than 3 decades later) for showing me how wrong I had been, and am so grateful that He is willing always to help us get Truth, as long as we are willing :D

have you seen Jesus to know He is real and was resurrected?
That was how I came to believe....He saved me from death when I was in my early 30's....I had been brought up to believe that talk of God or Jesus ( we were actually not allowed to speak of it ), was a story much like the one about Santa ......But, since He showed Himself to me, as being real , and spoke and replied to questions, there was no way NOT to believe anymore....But more than that, through this I came to believe that there must therefore also be God, and not just any god, but THE God, the God of the Hebrews.
I got hold of a Bible some 6 years later and was so amazed at what was written in it, but also surprised at what some people do with what is written. Nowhere I have attended fellowship, has there been any agreement between them....in some things they agree, in others they just have these 'pride fights' as to who understands the writings the best.
Have had a very hard time finding believers who accept Him as our reality and not some historical figure, who's Father will torture you for eternity if you can't comprehend what's written...... But faith is needed each and every day, for me, for you and all others....I cannot stop believing in Jesus obviously, but there sure are things, a lot of things, I am still learning about and learning to put my faith in.....I just don't want to become a follower of any men, who have their own ways of believing and some even their own agendas.
There is such freedom in Jesus, no need to get all bound up in various written accounts by other people.
I find the Bible fascinating , but I would not try to substitute Him, with a Bible....I'm in my 60's now, and not a single time have I found anything He has said to me, NOT to be Truth ( as it becomes revealed)...
Have a lovely day and I hope I was able to reply to what you asked ?..........Pia :)

From your statment, I take it that you are an atheist or at least an agnostic. Only someone like that would have personal doubts about the Bible. But that's your issue....I can't and have no intention of convincing you otherwise.
Ma nyou dont know where shes being and what shes seeing, that Idol the bible raising its head again.

How do you know that what you believe is the truth? You come accross to me like someone that is in conflict. You don't believe the Bible to be God's word, but yet you claim to believe in Jesus. It seems you are more in love with the idea about Jesus, but you don't really know Him.

Because He is the truth and in Him there is no lies. As for teh bible, this forum is full of people who believe it yet walking in conflict with God, and we have religion all in conflict based on the bible. God is not teh author of confusion, that is teh devils job.

I was addressing pia, whom was questioning the scripture that I had post. The vast majority of the churches are false. They are hooked on keeping pagan celebrations, or believe that keeping a special day will save them, but they are not doing what Jesus commaned His people to do. Ask them all what gospel Jesus preached, and they give an answer that they were told by their church or pastor instead of what the Bible say. I doubt if you would know it either.

ya, defeating determinism is hard i guess
imo it is actually a kind of possession that we all suffer from
in the west

i'm convinced "become like a child" means "unlearn logical thinking"
Oh yes. We have to have the trust of a young child that the child had in people before people started molding him into their own image. Being as a young child is not being logical and it is not having common sense.

If a person has no assurance of their salvation then they are not saved. Why??? Because they don't believe Jesus really died and paid for their sins. They feel the only assurance they can have is to make God owe them salvation by their own personal works.

You will find neither of us goes to church, this bit,

Joh 10:4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
Joh 10:5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

and they are all corrupt, Religion is the Harlot church.

There is only one way, Christ

In a church group/building or out of one, a person can serve God, but joining such a group can be and often is like a rich man trying to gain entrance into the kingdom of heaven while being unwilling to give up all that he has in order to do it:

"Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God." Matt 19:23-24

People are rich in money, or in the doctrines of their own church group, or in their nation, or as @bbyrd009 might say: in nehushtan, are often as a result also in the midst of delusion because they have left their first love for God [if they even had it] in favor of whatever they cannot let go of...

"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field." Matt 13:44

Christ is willing to be made a Snake on a Pole for Israel though, and Edom was destroyed for not giving Israel a pass, right

Quetzalcoatl was the "Feather Serpent" - not a serpent on a pole.

Do you know what the Aztec descendants in Mexico referred to the Blessed Mother in their native Nahuatal tongue when she appeared to Juan Diego? They called her Coatlaxopeuh”, (pronounced “Quatlasupe”) - the "Serpent Crusher."

Gen. 3:15

"And I will put enmity between you and the WOMAN, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”

cool!

not a serpent on a pole.
"on a pole" = "flying," symbolically anyway. The concept is "between you and God" i guess
