It’s true, but we cannot make choices without knowing what the choices are. We need knowledge to defend our faith….as Peter said….The futility of this position is that we have to live BEFORE 'examining all the evidence.' Few learn to master ancient Sanscite to better understand the Hindu text or learn Chinese to study Taoism of Buddhism. Then there are the doctrines of 30,000+ Christian denominations.
Implied is the IDOLATRY of knowledge and evidence, hardly the substance of faith.
1 Peter 3:14-17….
”But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God's will, than for doing evil.“ (ESV)
Defense must be based on knowledge….otherwise what we believe cannot offer any defense….a belief offered with no defense is just a belief…..but how much is too much? Good question….
