During the Protestant Reformation of the 16th - 18th centuries, Protestant Reformers accused the Papal system in Rome of being the fulfillment of the predicted Antichrist of prophecy based on their interpretation of the Scriptures in light of the events of history. Known as "Historicism", this teaching devastated the Catholic church's power and influence and led to so many Christians abandoning her and joining the Reformation that it compelled the Papacy to huddle up in a "Counter-Reformation" and come up with a strategy to undermine and overthrow Protestantism. While Jesuit priest Luiz Alcazar authored what came to be known as Jesuit Preterism, the idea that all prophecy was fulfilled in the past, another Jesuit priest, Francisco Ribera, was busy with another idea: Jesuit Futurism.
Jesuit Futurism teaches that the Antichrist was not the Papacy, nor a Roman Emperor, but actually one man who will come at the end of time during the last 7 years of tribulation, sit in a rebuilt temple in Jerusalem, and establish a peace treaty between Israel and the Arabs, by which the breaking of it will usher in Armageddon. Protestants everywhere rejected and ridiculed these ideas as un-Biblical and for 300 years, Historicism was the reigning champ among Protestant eschatological thought. As the 19th century ushered in an era of peaceful respite from Papal persecution, Protestants began to forget the past and embrace the innovative thought of Jesuit Futurism. Slowly, it gained in popularity, but it was not until 1948 that Jesuit Futurism finally got its "irrefutable evidence" that it had lacked for so long: Israel was reborn in the land. Protestants were all but done with Historicism. Well, most anyway.
But, according to the Bible, God could not have been responsible for that rebirth due to an obstacle that stood in His way- -repentance!
According to 2 Chronicles 6 and 7, the Bible specifically states that the condition upon which rebellious Israel is to be gathered back into the land after being scattered to their enemies is repentance. To this day, Israel has failed to meet that condition. All through the Biblical record of Israel can be seen the cycle of "rebellion and scattering/repentance and gathering" and as far as I know, there is not one single instance in Scripture where God ever gathered Israel back to their land without Israel first turning to the Lord with "their whole heart and whole soul" in repentance.
Some might argue that individual Jews here and there over the years have turned to Jesus, but the Divine requirement is that the whole nation corporately repent as one, yet to this day Jesus is still considered to be "the Great Imposter" by an overwhelming majority of the people in Israel.
Others might argue that the reason they've not repented is that they've been blinded by God, to which I say that is the greatest evidence confirming that God has had no hand in their return, for they have been rendered unable to meet His required condition of repentance.
If it was not the power of God that led Israel back to the land, then by the power of what or who? Much evidence can be presented which points to Jesuit intrigue behind the scenes at the United Nations, which seems to have accomplished what the Papacy set out to do so long ago: overthrow Protestant Historicism. Today, Billy Graham, Joel Osteen, James and Betty Robison, Kenneth Copeland, Tony Palmer, and countless other Protestants, who have appeared to have ceased from their protest, have and are demonstrating a willingness to forget the once grave issues of the past in order to join hands with the Papacy, which Protestantism once saw as the most clear and present danger to the Gospel of Jesus.
