Here's a novel approach to making a choice for the upcoming election. Why not pray to the Lord and ask Him specifically who to vote for? I'm not saying that the Lord will take sides in the election, but the purpose of prayer is largely to conform us to His will. If you pray each day, read the scriptures to spend time "listening" to God, I believe that He will let you know whom you should vote for so that your conscience isn't violated. God is far more concerned with the purity of our hearts than with the person we choose to cast a vote for, and in the end, God's choice will still end up in office whether it is for the good of our nation or for the judgment of it

  1. [sup] [/sup]For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12

Nothing in that passage has anything to do with politics and suggest that it realy doesn't matter who we vote for...but for the sake of arguement lets consider our choices....Obama vs Romney.... i rest my case and realize that we have reached the end of our political rope and the beginning of the end is here

Shalom, Strat.

Remember:

Proverbs 21:1
1 The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.
KJV

God can do anything He chooses to do with this nation, regardless who is elected to office.

If He can take a man like Koresh (Cyrus II the Great) of Persia and turn him to fulfill Scripture, He can take whomever we elect and use him for His purposes, whether for good or for evil.

Isaiah 46:9-11
9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
11 Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.
KJV

Trust in ADONAI; trust in YHWH.

"Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."
Why be a slave to what you know is perishing?
21 Were you called while a slave? Do not be concerned about it; but if you can be made free, rather use it.

God can do anything He chooses to do with this nation, regardless who is elected to office.

One of the things God did for me is that He allowed me to be born in a country were I am allowed some say in how I am governed. Before the United States, that was unheard of it the history of the world. He also gave me a mind, and He has given me His Word. Those three things are gifts from Him. Now, I am free to choose not to participate in trying to understand the issues and the candidates. I can ignore these gifts. Or, I can be thankful for them and do my best to understand and then exercise my one vote. Each can choose.

As far as praying for God's will, He has already expressed that to us. It is in the Bible. Salvation is His first desire for us. Without that, nothing else matters. After that, He has told us the right values and convictions by which we ought to live. Those things can inform our choices as well, and the mind He has given us should be used to discern. Or, we can throw our hands up and let others make our political choices for us. We can opt out of making a choice ourselves. Or we can embrace the opportunity God has given us and do our best to exercise our right to choose as best we can. Everyone has a choice.
