Concerning sin in believers I suggest all in the thread read the 7 letters in Revelation.
Jesus points out sin in believers and the remedy.

Then study the verses on "overcomer"

Very good point. Several of the churches were caught up in the very heresy discussed in this study, and yet in the midst of it the Lord was offering them kingship if they would be overcomers, and resist the temptations of this world. I was thinking about this the other day, and we exist in a day and age when so much is on offer. Good food, entertainment, earthly luxuries and pleasures... and it can lead to a spiritually lethargic life. With greater temptations and distractions comes greater risk, but also greater reward to those who overcome.

I am careful with the word works because it confuses people. I usually only apply works with the adherence to the Mosaic Law.
Works in not Good Deeds.

That's an interesting approach, cuz I agree with you.
But what you describe of yourself is a person that walks with Christ everyday….and that is my best advice.

Blessings! It was what we are called to do, in order to manifest all of Him collectively as a body. :gd

I do not think that Christ was judged.

The Cross is where Christ was judged for the sin of the world.

Christ not good enough for ya?

Paul's doctrine came from Christ.

26 For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth,

Yet you confess sin.

Now this verse is speaking about Christ rejection........as that "willful sin", has no remedy, and that is why the verse says....."there remains no more sacrifice'..........as if you willfully reject the Sacrifice, then there is none left.

And your explaination is sin and evil in Heaven.....you are peaches.

There is no sin found "in Christ", and every born again Christian is "in Christ".

Ya listen to you and sin all you want and still go to Heaven....And the devil does a dance to your beliefs.

No sin found "in Christ' and every Christian, is "in Christ".

Yes, this is the same principle that you find with the young Christinan in Corinthians who was fornicating with his Dad's new wife.

Paul had the church expel this young man for a time, and then Paul had them bring him back.

So, we see that a Christian who is willfully sinning, the sin of fornication, does not lose their Salvation.
Paul is also saying that provoking words are just as bad as the sin of fornication.
Rotten Fruit = is a person who is trying to sell the LIE on This Forum, that Salvation could be lost.

You are a Charismatic, and nearly all Charismatics have been falsely led to believe, that their Salvation can be lost.
This makes you a victim of your denomination.

So, you believed this lie, as most do, who belong to this type of denomination.
Once saved always saved is one of John C's lies.
Notice the verse says....."HIS Goodness".

So, we continue in HIS Goodness, by understanding that Jesus who saved us, keeps us saved..

You have not continued, so that verse is talking to you, and in fact you literally DENY that Jesus keeps His Bride forever.
Those who do not grow in the fruit of the Spirit are blind.

These we add:

2 Peter 1:5-7 EMTV

5) But also for this very reason, making every effort, provide with your faith virtue, and with virtue knowledge,
6) and with knowledge self-control, and with self-control perseverance, and with perseverance godliness,
7) and with godliness brotherly love, and with brotherly love, love.
Matthew 6:33 But seek you first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

what are “these things shall be added unto you”? Could it be those things listed in 2 Peter 1:5-7? Then it is God who adds them unto you..
2 Peter 1:5-7 EMTV

Something else that stands out to me is being fruitful in recognition or knowledge of Christ. Does this knowledge or recognition have to do with the last added unto you; “brotherly love.”? Being able to recognize And have knowledge of Christ in others? I think of Saul when confronted with “Saul, Saul why do you persecute Me?” It was those of the body of Christ that Saul was persecuting, which I take as Saul being blind he did not see (recognize) Christ in Stephen(being full of the Holy Spirit). If Saul had sought the kingdom of God and “all His Righteousness” then would there have been “brotherly love”. How did Paul change after being transformed into having sight to recognize Christ. Consider when Paul sat with a brother too afraid to eat where Paul said if he harmed one whom was weak and without knowledge to see Christ, for whom Christ died…then Paul sinned against Christ. Point is…we want recognition of Christ (as recognizing Him), but to me that may be regarding “brotherly love” that withstands hardened hearts and bears all things, hope all things, believes all things, and endures all things that Christ be formed in them.
