Let's think about this some more. What "church" and its leadership? The true church that is in submission to Christ or the false church that is worldly? And which one do we see parked in the White House now? A "church" in bed with the political realm is not the true church. My goodness, that is even the allegory of the Mother of Harlots riding the Beast. And mixing of church and state means both owe each other favours....so now the "church" that is in bed with the highest political office in the land potentially has government backing and help to persecute its detractors. And who are its detractors? It's detractors are the true church following the true gospel and that is trusting in and in submission to God, not trying to play God by taking matters into its own hands through politics. And in turn the political church is also in a position of obligation and compromise because of owing favours to the political party and leadership that has accorded it so much prestige and honour and power and probably some "cha-ching" as well.
Not a good MIXTURE with this mixing of church and state. "Come out of her my people and touch not the unclean thing." The unclean refers to mixture...the mixing of holy and common/profane, which renders what was holy unclean. The church is supposed to be holy (SEPARATED to God) and the political realm is common/profane, being of the world. "Come out from among them and be ye SEPARATE".

My perspective...
Your founding fathers for the most part lived in the late 17th and 18th centuries right? You believe they were writing and advocating a worldview that sought to restrain government from dictating to the church, but approved of the church influencing the state. Now keeping in mind the era in which they lived, and the recent memories of their fathers and grandfathers who had very recently emigrated from Europe, from where do you think they gained the idea that it was a good thing for the church to have influence over the state? Where in their recent history do you find any example of that working for the betterment of society? Can you offer any example of one of your founding fathers, or any philosopher or political essayist who wrote in those years in favour of such an arrangement?
Where is there an example in early American history that a church controlled political establishment brought justice and liberty to the people?

For me the question is, would I prefer to have a Christian in the oval office or an unbeliever? And if we aren't looking at that, would I rather have someone who is "Christian friendly" or antagonistic to Christians? Again I think the answers present themselves.

Professing Christians defending the nasty and evil actions of a president, and trading the true Gospel for a false gospel... that is the issue here. We've had evil men in the WH for a very long time ...basically, from the beginning. But this one is the first one that has deceived the masses to such a degree it is global. No president before Dumpf has been declared the "prince of peace" and crowned the "king of Jerusalem." That is blasphemous! And yet, professes Christians think it's no big deal. This is the level of deception and mesmerization we're dealing with and it is alarming. The great falling away is here.

How are you interpreting this?? This scripture outlines how that Christians are the ones whose heads will roll. They will give their lives for the sake of Christ. Yet, you're speaking of those martyrs as if they're evil?!!
