No matter who puts in tariffs, it's a stupid idea.
There should be no tariffs at all, free trade is the only way to go.
Problem is some countries have employers paying real low wages, and selling products for real low prices.
Other countries are stuck with real high wages ,caused by trade unions, and need their products to sell for higher prices.
As long as there are HIGH and LOW wages in different countries there will be a trade problem.
The answer is FAIR WAGES every where., world wide........
You clearly have no idea what you are talking about regarding Tariffs etc.
The world once was run by Tariffs, why ! to protect their own Nations Buisness intrest and that means protection of people in jobs !
When a People Vote to elect a Party to run the Nation for them, it's in the best intrest of the People in the Nation that they Serve in fact, that's why they creat Tariffs.
So unless your a Nation who has no regards the People, such a one would turn your back on Tariffs in fact !
So that's were Nations who have good business sense will go to work on making good deals for the best long turm deals. and not just play the wounded duck games. and crying for support from idiots who know nothing regarding such things in fact.

In Australia we are around 62c in the USA Dollar and that's the sweet spot for us for Trade. If we were Dollar for Dollar it's not where the Govenment want to be at.
Australia has Tarriffs to creat a Car industry back in 1950's to 1990's because without such their would not of been a car industry in fact and out of that our Nation grew up to make much more things as people got skills from promoting such workings. but then we relied on cheap imports and sold out peoples Jobs. and on the path to become just a back water Nation of Socialist Dingbats ! OK untill the money runs out ? Then we are sitting ducks.
