I better not get into tariffs too much, I'm no expert on the subject, lol, just have certain impression/opinions. Thank you for your input on it. I just wonder if Trump is trying to do too much too fast, not that I disagree in principle with what he wants to do for America. Canada is being pushed to cozy up to Europe now as a trading partner and there is even talk about the possibility of joining the European Union, which doesn't sit well with me. This is all pushing us in the wrong direction in more ways than one from what I can see.To your Point on tariffs, all countries have a tariff against USA goods. Canada has tariffs on the US. China has tariffs on the US, France, Italy, Germany, all of them. The trade war is the US raising tariffs, and other countries, who have been doing it, don't like it, but they will have to capitulate, sign some agreements and remove them or keep them. Raising tariffs in other counties on the USA is a knee jerk reaction, until they talk to their gov't and find out they have placed tariffs on other countries too. China is the worst.
About the Jewish diaspora, Jewish people are all over the USA, and Europe. A great many people go all the lives never knowing they have Jewish dna. Jewish Christians assimilated in Europe and came the US in the 1800's and spread out. I've done some family trees and found Jews married gentile Christians and changed their last names. Names like Goldberg,> Goldman,> Oldman,> Olson. When 23andme was hacked, only the Jewish dna was taken. Somebody is looking for the remnant. 7.5 million Jews are in the US alone and another couple million that don't know they are.
Interesting about the Jews...yes I'm sure there are quite a few who don't know they are Jews. But those who do know and who identify as Jewish will be the ones primarily going back to Israel when things get too shaky in the west, I expect. I think they have to prove their ancestry to be able to immigrate to Israel as well
