1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Peter is an apostle to Israel. Peter was commanded by God to preach to the people (Acts 10:42). Peter is preaching the cross; by the cross the promise of the new covenant will be fulfilled.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Jesus is the one who bore the iniquity of Israel, who was wounded for their transgressions. Of note is that Peter in verse 24 above is applying Isiah 53:5 saying "and with his stripes we are healed" to the recipients of his letter; it would stand to reason that the recipients of Peter's letter is true Israel.

Isaiah 53:11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

Jesus would bear the iniquities of Israel and would justify the believing remnant of Israel.

John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

Jesus is the good Shepherd who went to the cross and died to bear the sin of Israel the sheep.

1 Peter 2:25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

The believing remnant of Israel believed on the Lord Jesus Christ and returned unto their Shepherd.

Isaiah 40:11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

Jesus shows great love and tenderness toward the sheep. Those of us who trust him can know that he has the same love for us.

Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Israel could not keep the old covenant. Israel as sheep went astray and were lost. The iniquity of all Israel was laid upon Jesus on the cross.

Acts 5:30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.
5:31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

Peter and the other apostles spoke of the resurrection of Jesus. Israel was to repent and receive the forgiveness he provided.

Acts 2:29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
2:30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

Peter preached to Israel that it was prophesied by David that Jesus would be resurrected to sit on his throne.

1 Peter 5:4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

Jesus, the chief Shepherd of Israel the sheep, was coming again.

Hebews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Jesus came the first time to bear the sins of Israel. The believing remnant of Israel would be looking for his second coming for salvation.

Jeremiah 30:9 But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.

Ezekiel 37:24 And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.

Jesus Christ will return to establish his kingdom on earth (Daniel 2:44). David will be raised to be king to Israel in the kingdom. Saved Israel will be caused to walk in all the judgments of God.

Jeremiah 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

God will make a new covenant with Israel and Judah only.

Jeremiah 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Ezekiel 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

The new testament (Matthew 26:28) could not be in force until the death of the one who made the testament, Jesus, the testator (Hebrews 9:16). Jesus died on the cross to establish the new covenant; Christ's death put in effect his will that his blood would provide the remission of sins for Many (Israel). Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins (Hebrews 9:22); without the shed blood God could not be just to forgive the iniquity of Israel.

Israel could now be given the promised new covenant. This covenant will forgive the iniquity of Israel; God by the new covenant will forgive Israel for the sins committed under the old covenant (Hebrews 9:15). God will put his Spirit in them and cause Israel to keep all his commandments.

Hebrews 13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
13:21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

The old covenant is ready to vanish away because Israel could not keep it (Hebrews 8:7-13); the new covenant will be an everlasting covenant. Israel will, according to 1 Peter 2:24, be able to do what they could not do by themselves, by the Holy Spirit of God in them, live unto righteousness.

Peter did indeed preach the cross, but the new testament shed blood was for the many, not for all. Israel received the forgiveness of sins by the cross. Peter was saying the cross was for Israel; Peter said the cross was for "our sins", which was only Israel's sins.

[1Timothy 2:6 KJV] 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Paul was given the revelation from Christ that Jesus paid for our sins, for all, Jew and Gentile (1 Corinthians 15:3 Galatians 1:4).

Yet Paul wrote:

“But it is not that the word of God has taken no effect. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, "In Isaac your seed shall be called." That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed.” (Ro 9:6-8 NKJV)

So it was not just the believing remnant of Israel (as in natural descendants of Abraham) that Jesus came to save.

Sorry I wasn't clear. I got the impression from your earlier post that you were saying that Israelites, in the sense of those able to trace their ancestry to Abraham, are saved differently to the way Gentiles are saved. I was saying that there is no difference. A better passage than the one I actually quoted would perhaps be:

“But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,” (Ro 3:21-24 NKJV)

Maybe you can help me with this question.

What does being the seed of Abraham mean?

Has it got to do with having the same faith as him?

That God gifted us...

"Seed of Abraham" in Paul's sentence, " For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham" means those who were natural descendants of Abraham. Writing to the Galatians, Paul explains who the true sons of Abraham are - not those who can merely trace their ancestry to Abraham, but those who believe God as Abraham dkid:

“Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham. And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, "In you all the nations shall be blessed." So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.” (Ga 3:7-9 NKJV)

There is no difference in this dispensation......both Jew and Gentile are to believe Paul's gospel to be justified unto eternal life...........in the past Israel was given covenants and promises that Gentiles were not given........both Jew and Gentile were always saved by faith by believing God,,,,,,,,Gentiles had to go thru Israel and obey their covenants to for example eat the passover and be blessed

This is absurd, the Gospel of Jesus about Repentance and the Kingdom of Heaven and all that Jesus was teaching and did for us MUST be observed for eternal life and Nothing else. Jesus Gospel message is for everyone jews and gentiles.

[Mat 4:23 KJV] 23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

If this is the gospel you say we must believe you are preaching the Davidic earthly kingdom on earth which is the kingdom of heaven....the kingdom is not being offered today

I do not understand what you mean by this.
Jesus in his earthly ministry was offering the kingdom of heaven to Israel.

[Dan 2:44 KJV] 44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, [but] it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

Daniel foretold the kingdom on earth....this is the kingdom of heaven Christ preached and offered to Israel

[Mar 13:13 KJV] 13 And ye shall be hated of all [men] for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Israel will have to go thru the tribulation and if found righteous by obeying the law and faithful and endure to the end will enter the kingdom (Matthew 5:20 24:13)

[Psa 67:4 KJV] 4 O let the nations be glad and sing for JOY for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.

Christ will govern the nations that will enter the kingdom..

[Mat 25:32-34 KJV] 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth [his] sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

the Gentile nations will enter based on how they treated Israel in the tribulation

[Luk 22:29-30 KJV] 29 And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me; 30 That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

The twelve apostles will judge the tribes in the kingdom

[Rev 1:6 KJV] 6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him [be] glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
[Rev 5:10 KJV] 10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

The believing remnant will reign with Christ as kings and priests in the kingdom

The kingdom was postponed until the future......it is not being offered today
This was interrupted by the dispensation of grace revealed to Paul......Jews today are to believe Paul's gospel not the gospel of the kingdom (Mark 16:16-18),,,the gospel of the kingdom will be preached again in the tribulation ....the nations in the kingdom will be taught (Matthew 28:19-20)
