    The Gospel!! What is it?

Well said. I would add that the New Covenant is God's laws written on our conscience (heart). And the gospel is the Spirit of Christ abiding in us and we IN Him. That takes care of lawlessness - sins unto death. Jesus taking away all desire to commit adultery, or murder etc. it is written makes...

    The Gospel!! What is it?

Hi Randy, Paul wasn't being rhetorical. The other gospel was Paul's gospel of the Spirit, but the Judaizers added works, circumcision and the Jewish holy days and clean meats to it. So that is why he worded it as he did.

    The Gospel!! What is it?

As you know by reading the whole book of Galatians that Paul reminded them that they had begun in the Spirit, and were now wanting to follow the law? And to the Romans Paul said in Romans 1:16-17 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for...

Being filled vs being baptized with the Spirit

The title of this OP is about us. Who do you think it is about? Jesus sent Him to US! He in us is how we are born again of the SPIRIT. He didn't come to sit in a tree like a Koala Bear.

Being filled vs being baptized with the Spirit

The baptism in the name of Jesus Christ of Acts 2:38 is water baptism. Read the rest of the verse. Then you receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Being filled vs being baptized with the Spirit

We think of fire as a cleansing fire, so this could be when we are born again of the Spirit and freed from sin.

Being filled vs being baptized with the Spirit

In John 20 Jesus blew the Holy Spirit into the mouths of His disciples, but Jesus then told them to wait in Jerusalem for the baptism of the Holy Spirit for power and boldness. The 120 disciples received the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost, but received their second filling in Acts 4:29-31...

JUSTIFICATION: Catholic Vs. Protestant, Part #1

You don't know my testimony which is the opposite of your accusations. I'd like to ask you a question. If you are so in tune with Jesus and resting in Him, why hasn't He matured any of the fruit of the Spirit in you. You've been nothing but provoking this whole time with one false accusation...

JUSTIFICATION: Catholic Vs. Protestant, Part #1

Those questions weren't this hard for you to see one that fit your experience more than the other. If you are resting in Christ but not keeping the commandments of Jesus, then you are NOT resting in Christ as you think. 1 John 3:24 Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him...

If you think that Judas Iscariot will inherit eternal life, then bet on it

P2 - 10 Scripture already says in John 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.

JUSTIFICATION: Catholic Vs. Protestant, Part #1

So how does what you believe work? Do you believe you are righteous as you willfully commit sins you desire to according to your sin nature? Or do you have no desire to commit sins and naturally don't? I'm trying to see how Jesus works in your life.

JUSTIFICATION: Catholic Vs. Protestant, Part #1

I already said this once, but don't you know that without holiness you won't see God?

JUSTIFICATION: Catholic Vs. Protestant, Part #1

Do you still willfully sin? Or has Jesus freed you from committing sin? 1 John 1:8 is not a Christian. Read 1 John 2:4 to see that person is in darkness and a sinner. Christians are not sinners. 1 John 1:6 and 10 are also in darkness. From verse 5 to 10 is written in the Hebrew style of...

JUSTIFICATION: Catholic Vs. Protestant, Part #1

I remember decades ago hearing that justification means "Just as if I had never sinned." And that is what Jesus does in us. He makes us literally sinless by taking the DESIRE to sin out of our nature, thus destroying the works of the devil that were in us. Jesus also puts His Spirit inside us...

When do we receive the Paraclete?

I had gone to church for 30 years without ever receiving the Holy Spirit, nor ever receiving an answer to prayer. I was taught that the gifts of the Spirit had ceased, and they really didn't emphasize the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. All we heard was to not sin, and to keep the Ten...
