    Roman Catholicism

How can the dead be waiting for release? That would make them living? Are they not conscious in purgatory? If so, then they are not dead.

    the law of faith?

Praise YHWH for the Scriptures and for the Living Word!

    the law of faith?

I totally agree, but at the time those people were witnessed to they were NOT written. That refutes your point "that there is no believing in Jesus without believing the Scriptures".

    the law of faith?

The enemy does not lead people to Yeshua. The people in the verses I cited were not led to faith through dreams, especially not through false dreams or false prophecies. Nor were they led to faith through hearing the law or the testimony (Ten Commandments). They simply heard about Yeshua's...

    the law of faith?

I agree. I chose the verses I did because they didn't use any Scriptures. I also want you to know that I have faith in Scripture being true. However, people can come to faith without the use of Scripture.

    the law of faith?

This discussion started when I replied to your comment about "faith (in those writings). The accounts I cited took place before the NT was written. Those people believed based on hearing about Yeshua, not what they read in Scripture.

    the law of faith?

I totally disagree. Cornelius and his household believed and so did those in Acts 11:20-21 just through the preaching of the Gospel. So, too, the Philippian jailer in Acts 16 and the men in Acts 17:34. I'm sure I can find more, but they will suffice to prove my point.

    the law of faith?

The two verses you quoted do not say "believe in" Scripture or "have faith in" Scripture. They both say believe in or have faith in Yeshua. I am not coming against Scripture or believing in it. I am just showing you that the verses you cited do not say to believe in or have faith in Scripture...

    the law of faith?

I agree that one way faith comes is through special revelation found in Scripture. However, neither one of those verses say we are to have faith in what is written. It is what is written that leads to faith in Messiah.

    the law of faith?

Not quite. It is not "faith (in those writings)", but faith in Messiah Yeshua that leads us to obedience. The Scriptures teach us about Yeshua, but it is our faith in him that matters and that bears the fruit of obedience to what is written in Scripture or to what YHWH and Yeshua tell us.

    the law of faith?

I don't see the NIV using παρ. I see them using "that comes from" to interpret the Genitive case of πίστεως instead of "of".

    the law of faith?

There is no difference in the Greek that would warrant two different translation of the same word (pisteos); "of faith" and "to faith". They should both be translated "of faith".

Homosexuality: Is it the way a person is born?

Actually, He did place restrictions on it. Leviticus 20:18 'If there is a man who lies with a menstruous woman and uncovers her nakedness, he has laid bare her flow, and she has exposed the flow of her blood; thus both of them shall be cut off from among their people.

    the law of faith?

I agree. We are to rest in his righteousness and walk in the Spirit as we obey all of YHWH's laws out of love for him and not out of a desire to be saved or justified.
  16. gadar perets

    the law of faith?

Yes, Yeshua's righteousness is way above ours, but that does not give us a license to sin by resting on his righteousness.

No supporting verse again I see.

    the law of faith?

A physical Temple is not necessary to keep the Sabbath holy as Exodus 16;23-30 teaches us. This took place before any Temple or Tabernacle was built. It also takes place before the law was supposedly given. Exodus 16:4 teaches us that obedience to the Sabbath command was YHWH's test commandment...
  19. gadar perets

    the law of faith?

Sorry, but resting in Christ is not keeping the Sabbath. The Sabbath is a physical rest from work, not a spiritual rest from the burden of sin or of striving to be justified by works which is what our rest in Messiah is. I'm pretty sure you keep the exact letter of the other nine commandments...

    the law of faith?

I'll pass on the research. Is there some reason why you don't cite verses to support your points? The last time you quoted a verse was way back in post #83 even though I have asked you for references several times.
