Actually I think there is lots of room to debate the validity of a rapture. For example: Jesus said "I pray not that you take them out of this world but that you protect them from the evil one". That alone should cast doubt on the rapture theory.

If the scriptures seem to conflict then you obviously haven't got clear understanding. When all the pieces fit together perfectly, then you know you've got the correct interpretation.
