    It's a funny thing...

Rock, metal, blues, some of the older country artists. Orchestral music as well. The kind that sings to the soul.

    It's a funny thing...

Its nihilism. It's the most logical conclusion if God doesn't exist. Atheists that say "make your own meaning" are fooling themselves. There is no meaning to any of it without there being something more.

    It's a funny thing...

That's true. I have been treated well by Christians as well. I wouldn't rule it out. Honestly, times when I don't even need proof. I just know. Things happen. I notice patterns. It's like someone's removing things from my life and trying to get my attention. Easiest way is through music. It's...

    It's a funny thing...

    I'm no longer interested.

    It's a funny thing...

I dont know. It was at a Christian forum that I was at, one that was good until a bunch of hardliners took over and ruined the place. It used to be place where people could talk freely. We didn't have to agree on everything, but we respected each other.

    It's a funny thing...

Well, thank you. I do appreciate your efforts. But quoting scripture isn't going to change my mind. I cannot discern what a true believer is from one who isn't. I rely on believers to stay true to their word. When they stab me in the back after I call them friend, then there is no redemption...

    It's a funny thing...

No. In fact, I've been spending my time getting drunk. I do appreciate you thinking of me, however. Christians have treated me very poorly and I don't particularly care for it. Not you, but others. It's just made me reconsider my positions on things. I don't want to be treated like yesterday's...

    It's a funny thing...

It goes both ways. I've known Christians that have read the bible and become atheist. Anyways, I'm still feeling under the weather, so I've been watching movies. One of those movies is, The Greatest Story Ever Told. I think it was made in 1965. It's very good so far.

    It's a funny thing...

For the longest time, I've had this feeling of dread. Like the rug was about to get pulled out from beneath my feet. I've never known what it was, so I would always try to ignore it. Well, I've had a few things happen recently that have changed me as a person. I guess you could say I was always...

Critical thinking and education is linked to loss of faith

I went through the public education system until grade 10. Then I went to a private Christian school. Going from one to the other was a very jarring experience.

Less than half of U.S. adults believe in God without a doubt, but majority still pray: study

Don't you have to pray in order to become a Christian?

    Anybody else?

Huh. Fair enough. That's probably for the best. I still plan on doing that as soon as things calm down. It seems like a dragon of chaos has erupted in my life.

    Anybody else?

What are you? No. I'm agnostic because God, if he exists, remains hidden. If all of this is part of a divine plan, then I certainly question why it is the way it is. For example, why did Christ have to be crucified? Why not just forgive humanity and give them eternal life?

Less than half of U.S. adults believe in God without a doubt, but majority still pray: study

Why not? You hedge your bets when you're down and out. Might as well pray. It's free.

    Anybody else?

Well, the Catholics I've spoken to seem to think it's allegory. Whereas the evangelicals I've spoken to seem to think it's literally true. Seems like God had a plan.

    Anybody else?

I'm not sure that the whole story isn't just allegory. But let's says it's true, who else would have put the tree there?
