King Hezekiah the son of Ahaz. Based on the names used for this prophecy which do not fit what we know of Yeshua, there are disagreements by "scholars." Perhaps you would care to read the explanation of those disagreements at Isaiah 9:6 who is the child, Jesus or Hezekiah? .

I guess I could say "back at you." Did you even pay attention to the explanation given or do you simply accept what someone else told you?

    A Question For Christian Men

Letting my imagination run with this.... This woman is a "new Christian." I wouldn't plan to yoke with a Christian who has yet to grow. The question was asked of you way too early. There would be time to get to know the person who was just "born again" and then consider the possibility of...

Isaiah 9:6 is not about Jesus. Can you give a reason why Jews say Isaiah 9:6 does not refer to Jesus?

Unethical treatment of LGBTQ humans / Understanding LGBTQ - 101

Closely is not good enough. Even Satan sways the sheep with mostly-true statements.

For a very long time, the generalization applied to me as well. It is how I was taught to learn "the bible." I put in the effort that was shown to me as the right way to understand. I learned to simply trust the man rather than pray for God to teach me. Eventually I woke up and realized that I...

Unethical treatment of LGBTQ humans / Understanding LGBTQ - 101

Since the changes that took place since the end of the first century A.D. strayed from the teachings of Yeshua and His apostles, I personally find that there is no existing creed that mirrors the teachings of Yeshua and those He sent to deliver His words. I acknowledge that my learning comes...

Unethical treatment of LGBTQ humans / Understanding LGBTQ - 101

For years, I enjoyed scripture studies within a group that was encouraged to share thoughts and understandings - but left belief up to Yahweh. We who follow Christ as our example on Earth do the same as Yeshua did - we listen for Yahweh to give conviction. Everything else is simply a personal...

Do we search the scriptures or simply read our Sunday School booklets?

Yes, but lest we miss it, Paul's letters were translated by those who hold to doctrines and try to "help" us to understand. The source of the words of Paul is God.

So Yahweh's input is limited by man's doctrines. I have witnessed this, and I think it is of the devil.

Rather than see your post as one criticizing those who focus on "the red letters," I agree that the teachings of Paul are very important.

Unethical treatment of LGBTQ humans / Understanding LGBTQ - 101

My opinion here: Yes, it was. However, most churches today have interpreted that requirement to suggest that God never forgave a couple for getting a divorce so the man cannot be an elder or a deacon. (After all, as can be inferred by that man-made restriction, having been divorced in the past...

The Bible does not say Jesus is God. Man does.

I cannot either. Very few want to even think that they have been taught things in error.

Do we search the scriptures or simply read our Sunday School booklets?

Yes, they do. And those teachings become so ingrained into the minds of the congregation that they cannot be dislodged through scripture. That is probably because they did not get correctly taught through scripture. We first have to admit that we "don't know what we don't know."

Unethical treatment of LGBTQ humans / Understanding LGBTQ - 101

Ok, for our bucket of worms opener, there was a change from the Old Testament times to the New. As early as chapter in Genesis, there was polygamy. Throughout the O.T. there was polygamy, and God even blessed the marriage with children through wives and event servants (Gen 29). The change...

Unethical treatment of LGBTQ humans / Understanding LGBTQ - 101

The passages from both chapters of Leviticus are "still in effect," as I have not yet seen any command from Yahweh or His Son that negates them. Polygamy is a different topic, and I can see its roots in how the Patriarchy operated. Remember Moses required a man who divorces his wife to provide...

Is heaven only for Christians? - That's convenient

Yes, our works don't buy our salvation, but the lack of them demonstrate the wrong path that we may be on.

The Truth is Elusive If one would ask a professing Christian about their belief in the Bible, nine times out of ten, we would hear “of course!” Is that the truth, though? Do we really? Our beliefs and our behavior prove otherwise, and our actions speak louder than our words. The common...

I think I have seen your trigger. Being obedient to God's commands is not a requirement in our walk with His Son?
