There is only one Mediator, but...

This has nothing to do with what I said.

There is only one Mediator, but...

The high Priest thought it better to send others in his place.

There is only one Mediator, but...

The high Priest called others to take his place.

Fine. I am not intested in what you don't get. But even Jesus was circumcised by another man and baptized by another man. There are very few instances where you can point to someone who didn't come to the Lord through another man. And those that you can identify were meant to lead others.

There is only one Mediator, but...

Really? Do tell! And did they read Romans 10?

There is only one Mediator, but...

Yeah, and the writer of Hebrews said in chapter 10 not to forsake the assembling. He said in chapter 13 to obey them that have the rule over you (and yes, he was speaking about a preacher).

There is only one Mediator, but...

Have you read it? Check out 1 Cor 7. It's pretty clear that Paul is giving personal advice and not speaking a commandment from the Lord, unlike Romans 10.

There is only one Mediator, but...

When have you heard me say otherwise? The crux of my statement is that God teaches us, through the man of God. 1 Cor 1:21, Romans 10:12 and 17 disagree with you. Oh really? Matthew 11:5 KJV The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the...

There is only one Mediator, but...

Oh really? Perhaps you have missed some of my replies to others. I fully accept God's work, but seemingly unlike you, I have no problem acknowledging it comes through preaching. It's all about God's work, but God chose the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. That is from 1...

There is only one Mediator, but...

A man of God simply needs to be sent by Him. Denominations not needed. God can work through a denomination, but I doubt he does. When Paul said it was better not to marry, he was speaking with permission. In short, he was giving a personal opinion and not a commandment from God. As far as...

There is only one Mediator, but...

No, not really. Second thing, first: they don't preach peace; they preach the gospel of peace. Now, the first thing: when Paul asks the rhetorical question, "how can you hear without a preacher?" It was his own words. When he said, "how beautiful are the feet of them..." he was quoting...

There is only one Mediator, but...

I absolutely agree! Godsspeaks to us through the ministry.

There is only one Mediator, but...

Hebrews 4:12-13 KJV For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. [13] Neither is there any creature that is not...

Are you sure about that? Because I have listed verses that say we are saved by preaching (not reading) and that faith comes by hearing a preacher (not reading). Did these verses become obsolete, and do you have a scriptural basis for your belief?

There is only one Mediator, but...

There were false prophets and false teachers in Biblical days too, or am I wrong on that? Paul even warned that in his time there were already gracious wolves. I do not deny there are many false prophets and preachers today. I also believe that there are many self- guided people who claim...

There is only one Mediator, but...

That is a very good and important question. Yes, it must be a true Man of God who was sent by God. I fully agree. While it is important, for whatever reason I felt it was out of scope for the point I am trying to make. The Bible does give us information on this in the epistles to Timothy...

There is only one Mediator, but...

While I do believe it is the work of the Holy Spirit, I have provided verses that show it comes through a Man of God. Further proof of this is seen in 1 Cor 2:13, 1 Cor 12:3, Eph 3:5, 2 Peter 1:21 and I am sure I can find many other verses. I am not saying the Holy Spirit doesn't speak to...

There is only one Mediator, but...

This is a topic taken from the Electing a New Pope thread. I figured it will be hotly contested, so I decided to put it in the debate forum. Here is my opening statement: Jesus Christ is the only mediator between man and God, but you STILL need a Man of God to stand with you and bring you to...

    Hebrews 1:8 From the Greek

I really don't understand what the controversy here is.

Beware of Those Who Try Separate Faith in God vs. His Word

We should tell God what WE want HIM to know?!?! A God who knows what we have need of before we ask him? A God who declared the end from the beginning and knows all things? Interesting. In any sense, I read the entire thread and have some thoughts: 1. Prayer is good. I do it often. But it...
