Where did Christian Universalism come from? - New or old?

The Bible communicates very clearly that they will be utterly destroyed and not have eternal life. They will have eternal shame, but one does not need to be alive in order to be shamed. In fact, if they were ashamed of themselves, they might find mercy, as that would signify their repentence...

Where did Christian Universalism come from? - New or old?

Yes their punishment is for all eternity; just like an indefinite prison sentence is for all eternity, but the person receiving the sentence may not live for all eternity. Them not receiving eternal life means they receive eternal death. I've already went over this, so you're just talking over...

Where did Christian Universalism come from? - New or old?

You don't understand the concept of Annihilationism. They are not immediately destroyed. Rather, they are sent out of God's presence, and they wither up and die (permanently) as they are no longer given life. Whatever life they have fades and dies. This death is gradual, and painful. This is a...

Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it

That makes sense. So "Happy is the man who is persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" Not that you will be happy because you are persecuted because of righteousness, but because you know you belong to the kingdom of heaven. You don't belong to the kingdom of...

Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it

He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” - Luke 11:28 Not that you will be blessed by obeying the word of God, but because you are obeying the word of God, it shows you have been blessed by Him. If you could be blessed by obeying the word of God, it would...

    Apokatastasis in the Bible

If you actually read Romans 1:20 it answers that for you: "For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse." And no this isn't the gospel message...

    Apokatastasis in the Bible

Romans 1:20 says we're all without excuse. He has given everyone enough knowledge to seek him. They didn't want to seek him, and even if he drew them to him, they would have still rejected him for their sins. "How could people reject Christ?" - well they crucified him, so. I don't even know...

    Apokatastasis in the Bible

It was a rhetorical question meant to show you the absurdity of your question. But I do believe in hell. You don't. We're free to sin here, and in heaven. But if someone chooses to sin when they already have everything that God could give them, then there's nothing he can do to stop them from...

    Apokatastasis in the Bible

No the offer is open to all, but not all will accept it. https://www.gotquestions.org/who-did-Jesus-die-for.html

    Apokatastasis in the Bible

Why couldn't God create a vile, evil place filled with sin, where people could just do whatever they wanted to do to each other separate from his perfection and love?

    Apokatastasis in the Bible

There are no issues with predeterminism. Yes there is no salvation for some, because they would never have accepted him no matter what he did. They are predetermined to hell. Because God is all-knowing. But it's still their choice. However, some who he knows will accept him are given extra...

Reasons why the Jehovah’s Witness religion is false (Despite my love for them as human beings)

Yeah you didn't respond to anything I said. Just started going off about the trinity again. Oh well.

    Apokatastasis in the Bible

    1. Sure 2. Anyone who accepts Christ is born of God. God chose you because he knew you would accept Jesus. This offer is open for all to accept freely. 3. You keep using the word paradise. It's not paradise to everyone. Certainly not to Satan or the angels that rejected God. 4. I listed several...

    Apokatastasis in the Bible

No, he also gave Eve the command through Adam. They rejected his command. If I tell you "don't steal my wallet", then someone else comes along and says "steal his wallet", and you do, then that's not my fault. It's yours.

    Apokatastasis in the Bible

Well, they quite literally were reborn into him, lol. But what does the universalist idea teach on this? Do babies go to heaven automatically? Or do they go to hell temporarily and suffer for a little while before they're allowed in? If they all automatically go to heaven, why not kill all babies?

    Apokatastasis in the Bible

Because it would mean God coerced them into sinning. Remember, God does not tempt anyone, nor can he be tempted. He gave them a command. They disobeyed the command. It's really quite simple.

    Apokatastasis in the Bible

    Lusts*

    Apokatastasis in the Bible

Not really. I'm reasoning through the possibilities because I don't know, and neither do you. But yes we're born with a sin nature. One that Jesus takes away from us when we're reborn into him, which means the babies who die would have that sin nature cleansed.

    Apokatastasis in the Bible

Well if you think it's God's fault, then you think God is imperfect. Personally, I hold to the biblical teaching that they rejected the paradise they were given in favour of their own lusts.

    Apokatastasis in the Bible

It's also possible that all infants do go to heaven and never sin because they don't get taught how to sin by the world. This raises the question: Why not kill all babies? Well those points I listed earlier still stand. We're here to learn how to love God and each other more deeply as a result...
