“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lays down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). And “if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another” (1 John 4:11). In other words, true love is always sacrificial, self-giving, merciful, compassionate, sympathetic, kind, generous, and patient.
1 Samuel 16:7. But the Lord said to Samuel, 'Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for the Lord does not see as mortals see; they look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.
He guides us through His voice to the spirit man from within our hearts. The Holy Spirit knows our spirit man, and He can speak directly to our born again spirit man.
The spiritual man is a child of God. Being born again, the Holy Spirit lives inside of him. He is able to discern God's truths because the Holy Spirit reveals these truths to him. When Jesus spoke, He did so with authority and wisdom, and in a manner that was understandable to all.
2 Peter 3 tells us to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” This is not referring to physical growth like you might see from a plant. Rather, this passage is referring to spiritual growth and growing closer to God.
Romans 8:29reads that God has predestined His people to be conformed to the image of His Son: that is, to become like Jesus.
