Any future sin will indicate that you were never born again to begin with.

And I must add;

If it was a willful sin, that could be another issue altogether where the true conversion can be permanently damaged to the point of being unsaveable in the end where repentance is impossible (Hebrews 6:4).

So that would indicate that if you sin in the future you are not a Christian.

So then, as an unbeliever, can you not be forgiven of your past sins? Even though you thought you were a Christian and the sins that you committed were future to what you thought was a conversion?

Keeping in mind that the sins that you commit five minutes from now will be in the past 5 minutes and 1 second from now; and that this is basically a true statement.

In 1 John 3:9, he is not referring to random sins or even willful sins committed by man.

He is referring to "practicing sin."

It actually reads, "Whosoever is born of God does not "practice sin," for his seed remains in him, and he cannot "practice sin", because he is born of God."

We are fallen man even though we are saved, we will sin from time to time. But we have no excuse to practice the same sin over and over again. The repugnancy of sin in the believers heart will not allow it.

If the heart is right with God, habitual sin will come to an end, but this also takes time and varies in each believer.

In the end we have this treasure in earthen vessels and we should be walking in the fear of the Lord. Because many false doctrines fill our flesh’s desire to “know it all” and become proud and fearless.

See, to deny that God keeps you saved, is to teach that you can lose your salvation.
So, this need to defy the Cross and contradict God's Grace is how you recognize a Heretic.
What a person thinks about whether or not the true believer can stop believing is not a salvation issue.

The scriptures are clear that a lost person can be forgiven of all their sins that are in the past. Then they must endure to the end in obeying the Lords commandments. Any willful disobedience will disqualify them.

That’s all.
THEN.... EVERYONE is going to HELL.... GAME over.... Good grief!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Bottom line.
It is NOT about "Appearences", of what men can see on the "outside Works of the Flesh".
According to the passage these people whom God never knew are signified by the fact that they are evildoers and do not put Jesus' words into practice. That's how you recognize the lost person. They are not changed. No transformation is present. No outward evidence of knowing Christ is present.

Your issue is with the word of God, not me.

Hebrews 10:26-27
For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Colossians 1:21-23
And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: IF YE CONTINUE in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel

Romans 11:22-23
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, IF THOU CONTINUE in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.

Matthew 10:22
...he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

2 Timothy 2:12
...if we deny him,
he also will deny us

Malachi 2:9
Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law.

Purposely sinning in willful defiance is choosing not to trust and believe in Christ's work on the cross. If that person does not repent of that unbelief in the time God gives them to repent they will not be saved when Jesus comes back. This has nothing to do with the struggling Christian who falls and gets right back up into the fight. This is about the person who doesn't care about Christ's Sacrifice and shows it by choosing to purposely and willingly sin.

I am so very sorry I made the MISTAKE of posting on this thread.

I do not have the time or patience to argue about such matters.

It’s not all gloom and doom my dear friend. Here’s the way to be secure in the faith:

2 Peter 1:5-8 KJVS
[5] And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; [6] And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; [7] And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. [8] For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Be strengthened by the scriptures!

Avoiding “problem” verses just keep you in false security.

Have Eternal Security the Bible way, not man’s way!

Eternally Grateful

We have far to many modern day pharisees here still, they did not learn from the mistakes of the past, they still think their righteousness is pleasing, even though God calls them filthy rags, the law said perfection was required, but they somehow think they do not have to meet that requirement as long as they just believe in Christ they can sin their petty sins all they want, as long as they do not do these particular sins and always beg gods forgiveness.

it’s sad.

Like I said... I am sorry for posting here... I have no problem understanding my Salvation or my GOD.... Bless you.

Blessings to you as well.

But I can’t help but see your action in the verse below:

Jeremiah 7:27-28
[27] Therefore thou shalt speak all these words unto them; but they will not hearken to thee: thou shalt also call unto them; but they will not answer thee. [28] But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the Lord their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.
