I've done my own research about Trump and that's another factor of why I don't like him. However, the point I was attempting to convey in my previous post is that I'm turned off by the negativity I've experienced on this site, which has reflected very poorly upon the Christian witness here on this site. Christians can either be a blessing to their brothers and sisters in Christ and also draw non-Christians closer to God OR Christians can be a stumbling block to their brothers and sisters in Christ and also push non-Christians further away from God. I know people who have rejected the message of the Gospel because of the unchristlike behavior and attitude of Christians. The words of Christians can be a blessing or a curse.
Christians are commanded to tame their tongue and not let any unwholesome talk come out of their mouth. Christians are commanded to love their neighbor as themselves and to love and pray for their enemies. Christians are commanded to turn the other cheek and be an Ambassador for Christ. Christians are commanded to never repay evil for evil, but overcome evil with good. The Bible teaches that Christians are to let their light so shine before men that they may see their good works and glorify our Father in Heaven. The Bible also teaches that vengeance belongs to the Lord and He will repay. What the Bible DOES NOT teach is to call the people they don't like DEMONRATS and resort to other malicious name-calling. The Bible teaches that any Christian who hates his brother or sister is a LIAR and Christian who hates another person is a MURDERER at heart. The Bible teaches that the works of the flesh include hatred, discord, dissensions, and fits of rage. Christians can either be a blessing or they can be a stumbling block. The truth is, Christians are called to be a light in the world and be an Ambassador for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Yes, Jesus taught us how we should be a light to the world. And as you referenced many times..."Christians" should walk and talk and live as Jesus lived.
And it says if we say we love God but hate our brother then we are liars.
1 John 4 (KJV)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
²⁰ If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
²¹ And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
Jesus gave us 2 commandments.
Matthew 22 (KJV)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
³⁷ Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
…
³⁹ And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
⁴⁰ On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
So which of those verses justifies hatred towards Trump or any person serving in office?
