More Christian tattoo artists a positive development?

There is room for that, but the Bible has very little to say on the subject. Those who are for or against are both just "winging it." When that is the case, I believe that there is Grace (toward Born-Again Christians) for errors of uncertainty.

There is also the law that Farouk mentioned about beard cutting. I believe it is about understanding the culture then, and why these things were forbidden- they would have made sense to the Israelites. ..To me it's cultural - obviously I do sit on the other side because I have a tattoo , but I did look through scripture and reflect on it before I got one- and it was also something I had to deal with as my sons reached 18 and got tattoos.
This is only my opinion on the matter, thank goodness for grace.

PS: @Sabertooth A lot of Godly believers seem to be able to go confidently to their local parlors to receive their inkings, anyway.

I guess another way of putting this would be the perception among Godly believers that "It's appropriate" is more objective than merely to say subjectively that "It feels good"...

I am not inclined to believe that popular vote can make a pursuit into a Godly one. Conversely, such cannot make it into an un-Godly pursuit, either.

@Sabertooth Interesting comment! Clearly there are those who post on here who think that it's quite appropriate to go to the parlor for inking, anyway.

...where is the end...which would be the only reason I have for not urging her into being a tattoo artist; realizing she may be coming home with a new one everyday. But yeah, I would still support her ...

@VictoryinJesus I guess we must face it also that sometimes women are indeed urged - to use your word - to get tattooed.

FYI:

My wife has talked about this possibility, but she has said she'd have a hard time deciding what to put permanently on her body. She has been urged by other military spouses to get one.

I guess that sometimes there is such a sense of belonging to a group with a lot of mutual solidarity - such as military wives (often inked in patriotic, faith or family themes) - that if someone in the group hasn't had it done yet the other want her also to experience the sense of solidarity that it seems to offer. On the one hand there is a lot of individualism involved; on the other, there is such a lot of peer identity involved also; that when someone in the group hasn't had it done yet, the others in the group feel compelled to urge the remaining one to do it also in order both to deepen their own self-affirmation and also sincerely to want the remaining one to share the experience with permanent effects.

Again, to use your term, it's maybe about supporting each other.

@CharismaticLady Thanks; and I guess the question was also very hypothetical, and could have been stated in other ways. I guess it could instead have been asked in terms of, Would you now want to receive something of the now available good stuff, if you were at a different stage of life? (although this is somewhat convoluted, I know, and maybe equally hypothetical, maybe no answer is even possible.)

Yep. They flat out refuse to grow old and stop living life until they have to. This is how people advertise who they are so they do as well.
