Ok, well, I have no idea why my question upset you. If you don’t want to answer it, fine.
In post #333 - YOU asked:
"BoL, I have a question for you. Does the term "true self" have any meaning to you?"

I just don’t understand or appreciate your attack on my integrity.
That's a laugh coming from YOU.
You read my posts explaining Catholic beliefs - and then you pretty much told me that I was a New Ager and a Pantheist.

We WERE having a charitable conversation up until then . . .

Actually, I didn’t call you anything. I was referring to Catholic doctrine. I don’t call people names and when I think they’re wrong, say, “WRONG!” I asked you what you believe. I’ve remained civil, more civil than you in some ways!

I didn't say you "called" me anything.
I said that you inferred it by your statements regarding the Church having Divine and human elements.

In what context?
Did you read it in Scripture - or somewhere else?
Nope, not in the Bible. Before I tell you in what context, I would appreciate a straightforward answer. Have you ever heard of the term? This is a yes or no question. If you don't want to answer, fine.

So, what are you doing, looking it up? LOL
No - I was on the DMV website TRYING to re-register my license - and it's NOT working . . .
As for your question - it's just so random - I can't help but think it's a trap.

What is the point of the question? Why the secrecy?

I know how frustrating the DMV website can be!

Bloviated?
Are you trying to improve my knowledge of English?
Never heard of it!

All I did was answer Breadman's statement in that post.
Are you trying to say all catholics read and abide by the Catechism?
Are you that naive?
Thank you Rolo.

Hope I helped improved your knowledge of English.:)

The question that @BreadOfLife asked, and you failed to answer, is still waiting for you. I for one look forward to your response ;)

Here AGAIN is the question: Can you show me in the Catechism where it says we are saved by our works??

Here is some help finding the answer: Catechism of the Catholic Church

I am not TRYING to say anything. I stated a fact: "Scripture is read at mass every Sunday."

Great! So you and Martin Luther agree it's by faith alone :p:p
I may be misunderstanding you here. If so, can you please clarify. I don't see anywhere that @BreadOfLife said or even suggested "it's by faith alone." He asked a simple question (that still goes unanswered).

Can you show me where @BreadOfLife said salvation is by faith alone??

Sure it can . . .

Acts 9:31 talks about how the Early Church grew throughout the region. The language used here describes the Catholic Church:

“Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria experienced peace and thus was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and in the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, the church increased in numbers.”

According to Strong’s Greek Concordance – the verse is translated as:
“The true Church throughout all Judea . . .”

Here is the phrase in Greek:
η μεν ουν εκκλησια καθ ολης της ιουδαιας

The Catholic Church gets its name from the GREEK for “according to the whole” and “universal” - εκκλησια καθ ολης, which is pronounced “ekklesia katah-holos”.

Εκκλησια (ekklesia) - A gathering of citizens called out from their homes into some public place, an assembly; CHURCH
Καθ (katah) - Through out, according to
Ολης (holos) - All, whole, completely
"Ekklesia Kata-holos" = CATHOLIC CHURCH.
The church is the whole body of NT believers, living and dead. Not the RCC.

- Jesus gave the Church supreme Authority on earth and whatever it ordains on earth is also ordained in heaven (Matt. 16:18-19, 18:15-18, Luke 10:16, John 16:12-15).
The church is built a on Petra (Christ, not Petros (Peter)

- He gave Peter the Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven and Supreme Authority (Matt. 16:18-19, John 21:19-25).
He was talking to all the apostles, not just Peter.

There's not a single reference or deferral to Peter in all the bible.
- He gave the leaders of His Church the power to forgive sins in His name (John 20:21-23).
Not said.

- Jesus instituted the Eucharist and claimed over and over again that it was His actual Body and Blood (John 6:25-69).
Not how the Bible describes it.
Bible Gateway passage: 1 Corinthians 11:17-34 - New International Version

- The Office of Bishop is a SUCCESSIVE office (Acts 1:20).
It is a local church office, not a denominational hierarchy.

Gee, I've only scratched the surface - but it sounds REALLY Catholic to me . . .

Then you need hearing aids.
