But for you to suggest that Jesus is incapable of coming up with His own choice as a sampling and report of the early churches, as if the other unnamed churches were perfect, and that it is wrong to consider His assessment accurate for all churches...is shameful. These things you yourself do not understand, but here you are daily preaching that the one is right and the other is wrong.

These aren't just "differences" - and they certainly are NOT about non-essentials. These are polar opposite doctrines about ESSENTIAL matters. When you have polar opposite beliefs - somebody is right and somebody is wrong.

Jesus never explained this nor did He sanction it. He prayed fervently (John 17:20-23), as did his Apostle Paul (Phil. 2:2) that His Church remain ONE in thought, belief and practice.

So, yes - if you're going to claim that Jesus is okay with this - then YOU have to show me where He said it . . .

If the unity of Christians was meant to convince the world that Jesus was sent by God, what does the ever-increasing fragmentation of Protestantism in general say to the world?

Since each “bible-only” Christian must admit that his or her interpretation is fallible, how can they in good conscience call anything heresy or bind another Christian to a particular belief? You can't. Making excuses and inventing the "Invisible Church" theory isn't working.
The only thing you guys can agree on is how wrong we are.
We have a whole commission dedicated to promoting Christian unity. Where is yours?

That is correct, that is what we are talking about. Christians, by definition, follow Jesus - not Peter.
