I understand.
Then use the words of jesus and you wont go wrong.
Sometimes it's not so easy to know the will of God.
We can only do our best...
Jesus understands our humanity and how fragile we are.
imo what he means by "feelings" there is likely "emotions," and these are two different things i think, or at least can be. "Feelings" can also be a synonym for "thoughts" iow, the same as how "my heart tells me ______" really means "my conscience, acting in tandem with my will, tells me ________."

Jesus said we are to ask forgive for our sins.

I sometimes wonder if His words count for anything anymore.

Of course His words count, but they had a time and a place and a season and Jesus isn't walking around, in the sand, in His sandals anymore. Many of us see Him as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords with the sharp sword coming out of His mouth. The redemptive work has been done, it is finished, He isn't going to get back on that Cross to sacrifice Himself again.

so funny you mention that, because if i remember right that passage is given to those who would continue to be blind to their sins. So funny/ironic i guess, not haha/funny
Right.

Hebrews 10:26

"For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins."
NASB

Right.
Hebrews 10:26 "For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins."
NASB

This point cannot be restated enough.

Hebrews 10:27 but a certain terrifying expectation of judgment, and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries. 28 Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know Him who said, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay." And again, "The Lord will judge his people." 31 It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Hebrews 6:4 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age 6 and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.

2 Peter 2:20 If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. 21 It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them.

ya, pass on the flagellation, ty. My spirit is amused, and i did ref the "unintended" part, right? Ya gotta admit the optics are funny there, i mean c'mon--the guy repped by a hard shell referring to cracking nuts, etc? It is a psychologist's field day imo. Not saying that it necessarily means a thing, hope you understand, Armadillo too.

so funny you mention that, because if i remember right that passage is given to those who would continue to be blind to their sins. So funny/ironic i guess, not haha/funny

Blind to the Truth more like. The Truth is the lamb has already died and He doesn't offer sacrifice twice and He died for ALL. Once for ALL. Done deal!

Hebrews 10:10, And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Get it, got it, good!

Only the accuser leads one to believe God is sad when you sin and disappointed with you when you do something wrong. Sin has been dealt with at the Cross. The only sin left is unbelief, that is the only sin that cannot and has not been forgiven by our Covenant-keeping God. God keeps the Covenant He made with Himself.

Let's continue.

Hebrews 10:15-18, The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says:

16 “This is the covenant I will make with them
after that time, says the Lord.
I will put my laws in their hearts,
and I will write them on their minds.”
17 Then he adds:

“Their sins and lawless acts
I will remember no more.”
18 And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary.

We are reconciled. Every single one of us, good or bad, evil or saintly and to believe otherwise is to put Jesus back on that cross.

2 Corinthians 5:20, We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.

God proved His love by the Cross and we share the Good News and at the very second someone believes in His Son they are sealed with the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit does not convict them of their sins, He only speaks of Truth, Jesus.

John 16:13, But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

I can go on and on but I'm not going to write a book in a post and have your brain implode.
