Concerning sin in believers I suggest all in the thread read the 7 letters in Revelation.
Jesus points out sin in believers and the remedy.

Then study the verses on "overcomer"

Very good point. Several of the churches were caught up in the very heresy discussed in this study, and yet in the midst of it the Lord was offering them kingship if they would be overcomers, and resist the temptations of this world. I was thinking about this the other day, and we exist in a day and age when so much is on offer. Good food, entertainment, earthly luxuries and pleasures... and it can lead to a spiritually lethargic life. With greater temptations and distractions comes greater risk, but also greater reward to those who overcome.

I am careful with the word works because it confuses people. I usually only apply works with the adherence to the Mosaic Law.
Works in not Good Deeds.

That's an interesting approach, cuz I agree with you.
But what you describe of yourself is a person that walks with Christ everyday….and that is my best advice.

Blessings! It was what we are called to do, in order to manifest all of Him collectively as a body. :gd

I do not think that Christ was judged.

The Cross is where Christ was judged for the sin of the world.

Christ not good enough for ya?

Paul's doctrine came from Christ.

26 For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth,

Yet you confess sin.

Now this verse is speaking about Christ rejection........as that "willful sin", has no remedy, and that is why the verse says....."there remains no more sacrifice'..........as if you willfully reject the Sacrifice, then there is none left.

And your explaination is sin and evil in Heaven.....you are peaches.

There is no sin found "in Christ", and every born again Christian is "in Christ".

Ya listen to you and sin all you want and still go to Heaven....And the devil does a dance to your beliefs.

No sin found "in Christ' and every Christian, is "in Christ".

Yes, this is the same principle that you find with the young Christinan in Corinthians who was fornicating with his Dad's new wife.

Paul had the church expel this young man for a time, and then Paul had them bring him back.

So, we see that a Christian who is willfully sinning, the sin of fornication, does not lose their Salvation.
Paul is also saying that provoking words are just as bad as the sin of fornication.
Rotten Fruit = is a person who is trying to sell the LIE on This Forum, that Salvation could be lost.

You are a Charismatic, and nearly all Charismatics have been falsely led to believe, that their Salvation can be lost.
This makes you a victim of your denomination.

So, you believed this lie, as most do, who belong to this type of denomination.
Once saved always saved is one of John C's lies.
Notice the verse says....."HIS Goodness".

So, we continue in HIS Goodness, by understanding that Jesus who saved us, keeps us saved..

You have not continued, so that verse is talking to you, and in fact you literally DENY that Jesus keeps His Bride forever.
Those who do not grow in the fruit of the Spirit are blind.

These we add:

2 Peter 1:5-7 EMTV

5) But also for this very reason, making every effort, provide with your faith virtue, and with virtue knowledge,
6) and with knowledge self-control, and with self-control perseverance, and with perseverance godliness,
7) and with godliness brotherly love, and with brotherly love, love.
Matthew 6:33 But seek you first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

what are “these things shall be added unto you”? Could it be those things listed in 2 Peter 1:5-7? Then it is God who adds them unto you..
2 Peter 1:5-7 EMTV

5) But also for this very reason, making every effort, provide with your faith virtue, and with virtue knowledge,

7) and with godliness brotherly love, and with brotherly love, love.

Something else that stands out to me is being fruitful in recognition or knowledge of Christ. Does this knowledge or recognition have to do with the last added unto you; “brotherly love.”? Being able to recognize And have knowledge of Christ in others? I think of Saul when confronted with “Saul, Saul why do you persecute Me?” It was those of the body of Christ that Saul was persecuting, which I take as Saul being blind he did not see (recognize) Christ in Stephen(being full of the Holy Spirit). If Saul had sought the kingdom of God and “all His Righteousness” then would there have been “brotherly love”. How did Paul change after being transformed into having sight to recognize Christ. Consider when Paul sat with a brother too afraid to eat where Paul said if he harmed one whom was weak and without knowledge to see Christ, for whom Christ died…then Paul sinned against Christ. Point is…we want recognition of Christ (as recognizing Him), but to me that may be regarding “brotherly love” that withstands hardened hearts and bears all things, hope all things, believes all things, and endures all things that Christ be formed in them.

Paul is also saying that provoking words are just as bad as the sin of fornication.

Falsely Teaching that God's Eternal Salvation can end, is to provoke God and deny The Cross.

Receiving Salvation = is the same thing as now having Eternal Life.

Etermal Life is not temporary.
Being Joined to God, "in Christ" is as Eternal as God who caused it.

Once saved always saved is one of John C's lies.

Salvation is Eternal, and was created to be so, long before John Calvinism showed up.

See, if God's Salvation does not keep you saved, then that means its only as good as a person's behavior or thought process, on any given day.
God would never create a Salvation, that is based on GRACE, that can be ended by someone's "faith crisis" or carnality.

Some Charismatics like you , can't understand that God's Salvation lasts as long as God Himself.
See, you have not realized that whatever it is that YOU believe that can end YOUR Salvation.........should you do it.......... God knew you would do this later.. on the day He saved you,..... and He saved you anyway.
Why? Because there is nothing you can do, to earn salvation, and there is nothing you can do to lose it.......as God's Salvation is not OF YOU.

Those who do not grow in the fruit of the Spirit are blind.

You have not even understood ETERNAL Salvation yet, which means you dont comprehend "God's Grace".
Your PRIDE and Self Righteousness, is still trying to prove that you have more power to lose your salvaiton, then God "is Faithful to complete it".
So, you have some growing to do.

If we are now in agreement in these things, this is good!

Much love!
agreement in the TRUTH is good .
agreement in confusion is bad and leads only unto greater darkness .
He who seeks for unity but does so by removing core fundamental truth , does SO unto his own destruction .
But he who seeks for unity IN THE TRUTH , IN GOD , IN CHRIST , does so unto his own good .
Something this lovey do church age better fast wake up too . for sucker friendly has sucked many a soul
down unto the pits of great and only greater darkness .

Staying on the path to salvation is done by abiding in Him. You can leave Him if you want to. Abiding in Him also means growing in the fruit of the Spirit. Those without the Spirit and just spout false doctrines were never on the path to begin with.

Staying on the path to salvation is done by abiding in Him.

Salvation is not a "Path".

Jesus is SALVATION.

Salvation is God forgiving all sin, regarding the BELIEVER, and then God births the person's spirit into HIS..........as "ONE with God'.

That is not a "Path"........that is a "new Birth" that creates a "new CREATION" in Christ.

= Christianity 101...

So, you do not know what you are talking about, and just keep repeating the Pentecostal-Charismatic talking point. .. that is simply the idea that you try to keep yourself saved by trying to do something....... and that proves that Trust in Christ is broken.

See the PROOF that a Believer understands and has gained the knowlege of God regarding SALVATION< is that they understand that Jesus who saves them, keeps them saved.

You are trying to keep yourself saved, while you pretend that this is "abiding".......so, that is just self saving, self righteousness, = LEGALISM.

Listen again....., you are trying to keep yourself SAVED by your idea of "abiding" and that is a SELF EFFORT, and that is not Trust in Christ.

Walking in the Light is a continuous action. We do not go in and out of the Light, but we can commit sins that are liken to a dog's vomit. Think about why it would have been better for that person after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. 21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.

Do you know why this is true once they had eternal life? The question is where...

Walking in the Light is a continuous action.

This is not salvation., that you stated.
What you are describing... is the place that is to be maintained, as = right faith.......and right faith is understood as....>>"Jesus who saved me, KEEPS me saved".
He does that.........not you., because "God is faithful to complete our salvation".

Salvation, is Christ on The Cross, paying for your sin so that God can give you the eternal spiritual birth.

You dont "walk in that"...... you RECEIVE This........and that is what is known as being "SAVED".... "born again".

So, all of your argument is........ "yes, Jesus started my salvation, but now let me show you all the theology that i dont understand, that im trying to describe as the Charismatics teach it..... that is my idea of how i stay saved, if i do it RIGHT".

And what is that?
That is NOT Faith in Christ.......that is faith in SELF.

Yes, its worse for the believer who is caught up in carnality, then it is to have never had any freedom from it.
Thats true........but once again, this verse is not teaching that you lose your Salvation.
And again, you are teaching that this person has not kept themselves saved... and in fact.... no person keeps themselves saved.
You can no more keep yourself saved, then you could pay for your own sin and give yourself the new birth.

So, you do not understand "THE GIFT of Salvation" as you keep reducing it, to.....>"Let me show everyone what you must DO, to then stay saved"...
= That is "self saving".......LEGALISM.
And you are filled with it.....and will keep on teaching more of your "I MUST DO".. "I MUST NOT DO">. So that 'I I I I I I...me, me ,me me.. can keep trying to save ME".

That is no faith in Christ.
That is BROKEN Faith....>"Fallen from GRACE"

21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.

So, on any given Sat or Sunday, if im talking to unbelievers, and i give them the "holy Commandment".......and they hear it and turn away from it AGAIN........like they did the last 12 years.......then its better to not have heard it., because given time....the heart hardens against the Gospel message, so that the Heart loses its ability to hear the Call of God.....and noone knows when that heart can no longer HEAR the Spirit's call.
Once that line is crossed, then there is no remedy.
They will be among the millions who died and went to Hell, and are there now.....thinking....>"oh, i new it was true.....>I knew to believe........why did i keep WAITING" !!!

Do you know why this is true once they had eternal life? The question is where...

Your verse is not talking about Eternal Life.
You are falsely putting it in the verse, because you have been taught that Salvation is you working to keep it.
And that is faith in SELF...........not Faith in Christ.
