No Christian who continues to adhere to the doctrine of Amillenniaism will be able to accept the fact that on close inspection there is not one New Testament verse that applies to the human spirit any of the words associated with quickening and resurrection to life, and that this fact is no less the case in Revelation 20:4 & 6:

"And they were alive in their bodies [ záō ] and reigned with Christ a thousand years. This is the first resurrection of the body [ anástasis ]. Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. The second death has no authority over these, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and will reign with Him a thousand years." (Revelation 20:4b & 6).
In order to ensure that scripture complies with Amillennial theology, Amillennialism must of necessity apply words in the New Testament to things or people that the words do not apply to. In the process they have programmed not only their own minds to believe that the words do indeed apply to things or people that they do not apply to - but the minds of many Premillennialists (who have blindly accepted what Amillennialist theology applies the words to) have also been programmed with the same Amillennial misapplication of these words.

But hardly anyone will look at each and every verse using the above words associated with quickening and resurrection to life, and living/being alive [zao] to see what or to whom the words actually apply to.

Amillennialists don't dare to look at each verse in the New Testament using the words that they apply to things or people that the words do not apply to

- so in the links I have provided quotes of each and every verse in the New Testament using the words associated with quickening and resurrection to life, as well as with living/being alive [zao], as well as with (eternal) life [zoe], for those who might actually be open-minded enough to want to look.
Not only is the fact that on close inspection there is not one New Testament verse that applies to the human spirit any of the words associated with quickening and resurrection to life a crushing dilemma for Amillennialism, but without Amillennialists even realizing it, Amillennialism actually passively trains the minds of its adherents to see only half of biblical scripture half the time, for example:

Amillennialists don't see the words "of this present time" [nyn] in the verses below:

"But of this present time [nyn] we do not yet see all things placed under Christ's feet, but (what we do see) is Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man." (Hebrews 2:8); and

"Of this present time [nyn] is my Kingdom not of this world [o kosmos]" (John 18:36).

Because Amillennialism trains the minds of its adherents to only see half of scripture half the time, they fail to see the half that is telling us that though all things have already been placed under Christ's feet, we do not yet see it.

So they also fail to see why Revelation 11:15 is telling us that Christ's reign over the kingdoms of this world [o kosmos] will commence at the sounding of the seventh trumpet, and will continue from then on to the Ages of the Ages [the aeons of the aeons],

and until then, His Kingdom is IN this world because He reigns of this present time [nyn] IN the hearts and minds of those who believe in Him, but His Kingdom is not of this present time [nyn] OF this world.
It's also Amillennialists who are normally the loudest voice out of all those who will continue to falsely assert that the New Testament talks about a "quickening" of the human spirit, or a "resurrection" of the human spirit. They must maintain this position, because without misapplying to the human spirit the words in the New Testament associated with quickening and resurrection to life, the false doctrine of Amillennialism cannot be upheld.

Are you an of this present earth some kind of kingdom millenialist then?
Who is alive during this earthly millennial reign? only believers, also unbelievers?
What kind of bodies do they have?

Scripture is very clear, Jesus returns in fire dissolving the heavens and earth by this fire, at this time the resurrection and final judgement of all takes place, the wicked are judged to the Lake Of Fire and the eternal new heaven, earth, Jerusalem, is revealed to the righteous saved for eternity, this all takes place in the twinkling of and eye at the Lord's return

Both, see Rev 19.

Rev 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

What kind of bodies do they have?

No, the bible never says that. The OHOE are burned after the GWTJ, and it is then in Rev 21 we see the NHNE. None of that happens at the second coming. ZERO fire is used to kill at the Coming.

Your Claim Is "False"

Jesus is going to destroy the wicked by "Literal Fire" at his revealing, just as Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed by "Literal Fire" as seen below

Luke 17:29-30KJV
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed
.

Genesis 19:24-25KJV
24 Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven;
25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.

The resurrection of "All" takes place at the time of "Final Judgement" , the righteous to the resurrection of eternal life and immortality, the wicked to eternal damnation in the lake of fire

John 5:28-29KJV
28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
29 And shall come forth;
they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Jesus Christ Returns In Fire And Final Judgement, Dissolving This Existing Earth By Fire, Immediately After The Tribulation

This Existing Heaven And Earth Will Be (Replaced) By The New Heaven, Earth, Jerusalem, A New Creation, At The Return Of Jesus Christ

(Behold, I Make All Things New)

2 Peter 3:10-13KJV
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Revelation 21:1-5KJV
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

Matthew 24:29-30KJV
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

1 Corinthians 3:13KJV
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

Luke 17:29-30KJV
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

2 Thessalonians 1:7-9KJV
7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
8 In flaming fire taking vengeance
on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

Malachi 3:2KJV
2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:

Psalm 46:6KJV
6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

Psalm 50:3KJV
3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.

Psalm 97:5KJV
5 The hills melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

Isaiah 66:15KJV
15 For, behold, the Lord will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.

Zechariah 14:12KJV
12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

Nahum 1:5-6KJV
5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.
6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.

Revelation 20:9KJV
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

No, it's true. NONE of the verses you posted show fire used to kill at the second coming and you've been told and shown this by myself and others, Ok, so you will stick to this false belief no matter what. It's an example of how not to use eisegesis to "prove" one's beliefs.

No, Jesus is not going to burn Sodom again at the second coming. You intentionally left out the part about Noah and the flood because it contradicts your belief of a second coming fire. You missed what Christ was teaching in that passage.

Mat 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Mat 24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Mat 24:38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
Mat 24:39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

It's not about the fire or water but the world not knowing when Christ returns suddenly. Only the faithful will know his return will be coming, but the world will not. There will be killing but not by water nor fire, but a symbolic sword! The story of Lot also tells us that the killing was local, not global yet you misuse it as if God killed all the wicked in that fire.

Both, see Rev 19.

Rev 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

The saved are immortal, the unsaved are mortal.
The way I see Rev 19:15. IF He rules then with a rod of Iron, is is a mortal punishment, as in a judgment of them and they are not worthy of eternal life.

Luke 20
34 Jesus answered and said to them, “The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage. 35 But those who are counted worthy to attain that age, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage; 36 nor can they die anymore, for they are equal to the angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.

And the resurrection is on the Last DAY for People, Christ was the first fruits of them fallen asleep, so He is the first resurrection from the dead, and we are resurrected at His returning, where dead in Christ rise first, then we who remain are caught up to be with Christ in the air.
Since that is the Day of the Lord, all the rest not with Him are under His eternal judgment and wrath.

That winepress is full of blood of the slain,

there are 2 reaping events in Rev 14, one of the Saints where Christ reaps them, the other an angel where they are crushed in the winepress.
Those reaped by Christ live with Him, but the angel's reaping is destruction of those not Christ's, obviously they are killed.

There is no one who is not reaped, it is either life or death.

Reaping the Earth’s Harvest

14 Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. 15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come [j]for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.” 16 So He who sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.

Reaping the Grapes of Wrath

17 Then another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.

18 And another angel came out from the altar, who had power over fire, and he cried with a loud cry to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, “Thrust in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, for her grapes are fully ripe.” 19 So the angel thrust his sickle into the earth and gathered the vine of the earth, and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. 20 And the winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress, up to the horses’ bridles, for one thousand six hundred [k]furlongs.

The way I see Rev 19:15. IF He rules then with a rod of Iron, is is a mortal punishment, as in a judgment of them and they are not worthy of eternal life.
The Greek word used in the above verse actually says that He will shepherd the nations with a rod of iron following His return.

"And out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, so that with it He should strike the nations. And He will shepherd [poimaino] them with a rod of iron. And He treads the winepress of the wine of the anger and of the wrath of Almighty God." (Revelation 11:15).

Note: I never wrote Revelation. John did.

[Strongs Greek 04165]
ποιμαίνω
poimaivnw poimaino {poy-mah'-ee-no}
from 4166; to tend as a shepherd of (figuratively, superviser):--feed (cattle), rule.
see GREEK for 4166

No one will understand Revelation 20 if the individual does not believe what the Bible says in every respect.

There is only one God. Life | eternal life [zoe] is in Him and always existed in Him alone, before the creation of mankind.

Christ has once for all redeemed us in His own blood from sin and death, but the eternal life of all created human beings is IN CHRIST, who alone has eternal life in Himself (1 John 5:11-12) and alone possesses (His own) immortality (1 Timothy 6:15-16).

There was NO DEATH before Adam's death. If created immortals are incapable of dying then Adam would not have died.

THE SERPENT:

"You shall not surely die." (Genesis 3:4)

The Theology of main-stream Christian churches: It is impossible for those who are in Christ, who have been given eternal life in Christ, to die a second death following the resurrection of the body, because following the resurrection of the body, all will be immortal, "and it is impossible for immortals to die".

The Bible:

(1) "He (Christ) alone possesses (His own) immortality and lives in unapproachable light, whom no human has ever seen or is able to see. To him be honor and eternal power! Amen." (1 Timothy 6:15-16); and

(2) "God has given to us eternal life [zōḗ], and this life [zōḗ] is in His Son. He that has the Son has (eternal) life; and he that has not the Son of God has not (eternal) life [zōḗ]." (1 John 5:11-12).

JESUS:

"The one who overcomes, that one will be clothed in white clothing. And I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." (Revelation 3:5-6).

--- "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt by the second death." --- (Revelation 2:11).

* Only God has life in Himself.
* Christ alone among humans beings has life in Himself.
* the life given to created human beings is IN CHRIST, who alone has eternal life in Himself and who alone possesses (His own) immortality.

It follows that:

"If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned." (John 15:6).

Jesus' promises those who overcome that they will not experience the second death.

Note: John wrote down what Jesus said (not what the church/es say).

So bear in mind that

1. The commencement of Messiah / Christ's reign over the kingdoms of this world - to the Ages of the ages - will coincide with the return of Christ, according to Revelation 11:15.

2. Adam's death came to all men because all sinned.

3. Christ is the resurrection from that first death. (Romans 5:12; 1 Corinthians 15:21-22; John 11:25).

4. The Resurrection of the body (of humans who died) will occur when Christ returns (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; 1 Corinthians 15:20-23).

5. RESURRECTION, IMMORTALITY, AND "NO MORE DEATH"

The resurrection of the body; and immortality; and "no more death" go together like a hand in a glove:

"When this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory." (1 Corinthians 15:54)

Paul was writing to the Corinthians about the resurrection of the body from the dead in the above passage.

"God will wipe away all tears from their eyes. And there will be no more death, nor mourning, nor crying out, nor will there be any more pain; for the first things passed away." (Revelation 21:4).

6. THE FIRST THREE AND THE LAST THREE CHAPTERS OF THE BIBLE TALK ABOUT THE SAME CONDITIONS AND EVENTS:

Beginning of time: God's creation (Genesis 1:1-31) - Christ makes all things new (Revelation 21:5).

Perfectly good (Genesis 1:31) - Only righteousness dwells in it (Revelation 21:27)

Tree of life (Genesis 2:9, 16-17) - Tree of life (Revelation 21:6; Revelation 22:1-2, 14, 17).

Adam given dominion (Genesis 1:26-28) - The dominion of the last Adam (Revelation 3:21; 20:4)

NO DEATH until Adam sinned - THE RESURRECTION: NO MORE DEATH until the second death.

--- 1,000 years ---

Satan's deception of Adam & Eve (Genesis 3:1-7, 11-19) - Satan's deception of the Gog & Magog nations of the human race (Revelation 20:7-10).

Adam's death. Expulsion from Eden (Genesis 3:22-24) - Second death. Lake of fire (Revelation 20:11-15; Revelation 21:8).
Only the faithful remain.

THE SERPENT:

"You shall not surely die." (Genesis 3:4)

In-between Adam's death and the second death came the Resurrection of the dead:

"I am the Resurrection [anastasis] and the (eternal) life [zoe]!" (John 11:25)

* The Resurrection of the body (of humans who died) will occur when Christ returns (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; 1 Corinthians 15:20-23).

* There will be no second sacrifice for sins made, and there will be no second resurrection from the second death.

There was NO DEATH before Adam's death. If created immortals are incapable of dying then Adam would not have died. Jesus promises those who overcome that He will not blot out their names from the book of life and the second death will have no authority over them.

ONLY GOD has eternal life in Himself. ONLY CHRIST possesses His own immortality. Our eternal life is IN CHRIST. The churches have propagated the first lie for way too long:

THE SERPENT:

"You shall not surely die."
(Genesis 3:4).

The thousand years follows the return of Christ, and when Christ returns, His reign over the kingdoms of this world to the Ages of the ages will commence.

And this is also when He will make "all things new". The division of the Bible into chapters only took place circa 1227 AD. Before this there was no division - the first three and the last three chapters of the Bible are talking about the same conditions and events

There will only be immortals in the thousand years, and the commencement of the thousand years is when Christ makes all things new (not a new creation but makes all things new).

The second death does not come before the time when Christ makes all things new - it comes a thousand years later. The bride of Christ is clothed and ready for her husband in Revelation 19 and in Revelation 21.

The Gog-Magog nations are IMMORTALS who rose from the dead when Christ returned.

"You will not surely die was the first lie, and it remains a lie. Only God has eternal life in Himself, and our eternal life is given to us in Christ, who alone has eternal life in Himself, and who alone possesses His own immortality.

If CREATED human beings who are immortal cannot die then Adam would not have died.

Though scripture tells us this over and over, only a remnant of saints will know and believe that created human beings will never have eternal life in ourselves.

PS: I do not agree with the Premillennialist assertion that Christ will make all things new 1,000 years after His return. I believe that He will make all things new when He returns and this will also be the commencement of the first thousand years of Christ reigning over the nations to the Ages of the ages - and this is how I understand the Ages of the ages:

"I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth [zao], and was dead; and, behold, I am alive [zao] to the Ages [aeons] of the ages [aeons], Amen; and have the keys of hades and of death." (Revelation 1:18)

Jesus began to be alive [zao] to the Ages of the ages in His resurrected body when He rose again from the dead.

The Ages of the ages: An indeterminate number of aeons/ages (or never-ending cycles of time).

THE COMMENCEMENT OF CHRIST'S REIGN

"And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this "the world" [o kosmos] are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign to the Ages [aeons] of the ages [aeons]." (Revelation 11:15)

I believe He will make all things new at the same time. I do not believe that created human beings will ever possess either eternal life in ourselves, or our own immortality, any more than Adam did (Adam's death is proof of this). So will the second death be proof of this.

1 Corinthians 3:13KJV
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
Yep. Man's works [ergon].

"Every man’s work [ergon] shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is." (1 Corinthians 3:13).

ergon refers to the works of every man. In an extremely long list of verses (extremely long), érgon refers to the works of men. At times it's referring to the works of Satan, and often it's referring to the works of God.

If érgon refers to God's works of creation in 2 Peter 3:10 (i.e the "works in the earth" that are to be burned up), then 2 Peter 3:10 is the only verse in the entire long list of New Testament verses using the same word where that's what the word refers to.

Peter had said,

"But the present heavens (ouranós) and the earth [gē] being kept in store by the same word, are being kept for fire until the day of judgment and DESTRUCTION OF UNGODLY MEN" (2 Peter 3:7).

The destruction of ungodly men and their works is the context of the passage. Not the destruction of the earth.

2 Peter 3:10:
"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away [parérchomai] with a great noise, and the elements [stoicheîon] shall be dissolved [lýō] with fervent heat, the earth also and the works [érgon] that are therein shall be burned up."

THE SENSE IN WHICH THE ABOVE GREEK WORDS ARE USED WHEREVER ELSE THEY APPEAR IN THE NEW TESTAMENT

1. stoicheîon: The word is referring either to the rudiments or principles of this world, or to the principles of the oracles of God in each of the other five verses where the same word is used.

2. lýō (or luo): Always refers to something that was bound or restrained, being loosed (i.e loosed from having been bound).

3. parérchomai: Used variously:-

Used for "passing by", "passing closeby", "coming near"; OR "seizing upon or to come upon" (at times suddenly); OR in reference to a time that has passed.

In the context of the Day of the LORD coming as a thief in the night, the student of the scriptures can pick in what sense the word parérchomai is being used by Peter. If meaning "pass away" or "flee away" or as you interpret it, then 2 Peter 3:10 is the only place where the word carries an entirely different meaning than in any other verse where the same word is used.

Revelation 21:5: poieo ("make")

"And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make [poieo] all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful."

The word poieo does not mean "create".

Anyway, I already know that what the same Greek word used in 2 Peter 3:10 means in every other verse in scripture where the same word is found, makes no difference to how you have chosen to interpret 2 Peter 3:10.

Are you an of this present earth some kind of kingdom millenialist then?
Who is alive during this earthly millennial reign? only believers, also unbelievers?
What kind of bodies do they have?
Hello Scott. Just so you know I replied to the above questions in my reply to you in my Post #13

THE SERPENT:

"You shall not surely die." (Genesis 3:4)

Adam's death. Expulsion from Eden (Genesis 3:22-24) - Second death. Lake of fire (Revelation 20:11-15; Revelation 21:8).

Only the faithful remain.

Had to snip your post as all of it came to over 10000 words.

I am glad you are saying there will only be the resurrected saints with Christ after He judges the world in righteousness, as only God's children have the righteousness of Christ and have been given age enduring eternal life

Some have been saying Christ will strive with sinners even after His return in a millennial rule over unsaved nations.

Read 2 Peter 3 the entire chapter. It tells us of the coming Day of the Lord is His returning. Note the reference to the scoffers who keep saying where is the promise of Christ's coming for ever since the fathers fell asleep all things have continued as they were from the beginning of creation, i.e. the current sinful state of all mankind. Peter related the coming of the Lord Jesus with the end of this old creation and the beginning of a new creation wherein dwells righteousness. Peter says those wicked will be destroyed at His return, they are going to perdition (hell fire)
******************************************
2 Peter 3

5 For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, 6 by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. 7 But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and [b]perdition of ungodly men.
*******************************************

He deliberately compares the end at Noah's day, the sudden destruction of them, with the coming of Christ and the sudden destruction of our evil world. Basically Jesus says the same thing. That when He returns those found worthy of eternal life will shine like the sun in the kingdom of the Father forever.

They resurrection of life, vs the resurrection of condemnation happens when all who are in their graves will hear His voice and come forth.

John 5
28 Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice 29 and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. 30 I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.

Refer to the Tares and the wheat explained and the end of the world. It will be the age of the resurrection on the Last Day of this world when Christ returns to Judge the world in righteousness on that appointed Day as also Paul tells us in Acts 17

30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent,

31 because
He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”

32 And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked, while others said, “We will hear you again on this matter.” 33 So Paul departed from among them. 34 However, some men joined him and believed, among them Dionysius the Areopagite, a woman named Damaris, and others with them.

********************************************************************************************************************

So we can understand that only those who have the resurrection of life will reign with Him on the new earth. There will not be any of the wicked, those who do not know God, and those who do not obey the Gospel with Christ and us believers when this occurs. Those resurrected to condemnation will be excluded from the Prescence of God, and that means hell and the lake of fire for them.

The Parable of the Tares Explained

36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field.”

37 He answered and said unto them, He that sows the good seed is the Son of man;

38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.

40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

2 Peter 3 discusses the coming judgment and the need for believers to remain steadfast in their faith. It warns that in the last days, scoffers will question the promise of Christ's return, but emphasizes that God's timing is different from human understanding. The chapter encourages holiness and reminds readers that the present world will be dissolved, urging them to live in anticipation of a new heaven and earth.

2 Peter 3
is the final chapter of the Apostle Peter's second letter, and it focuses on three main themes:

1. Reminder of God's Promises (Verses 1-7)

Peter reminds believers to stay grounded in the teachings of the prophets and apostles. He warns that scoffers will come in the last days, questioning the promise of Christ’s return. These people mockingly ask, “Where is the promise of His coming?” (v. 4), believing that things have remained the same since creation. Peter counters this by reminding them that God has judged the world before (e.g., through the flood) and that His judgment will come again by fire.

2. God's Patience and the Day of the Lord (Verses 8-13)

Peter explains that God does not operate on human timelines—“With the Lord, one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day” (v. 8). He emphasizes that God's delay in judgment is due to His patience, giving people time to repent (v. 9). However, the Day of the Lord will come suddenly, like a thief, and the heavens and earth will be destroyed by fire (v. 10). This should lead believers to live holy and godly lives in anticipation of a new heavens and a new earth where righteousness dwells (v. 13).

3. A Call to Holy Living (Verses 14-18)

In light of these coming events, Peter urges believers to be diligent, at peace, and blameless before God (v. 14). He references Paul’s writings, acknowledging that some of Paul's teachings are difficult to understand and are sometimes misused by the ignorant (v. 16). Finally, he warns believers to stay firm in their faith and not be led astray by false teachers. The letter ends with a call to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ (v. 18).

Key Takeaways:

  • God is patient, delaying judgment to allow time for repentance.
  • Christ will return, and the world will be judged.
  • Believers should live holy lives, anticipating the new heavens and new earth.

Let me know if you’d like a deeper breakdown of any specific verse!

2 Peter 3:5-7 is not talking about the burning up of the earth [ge] and the heavens [ouranós] .

2 Peter 3:5-7
For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens [ouranós] were of old, and the earth [gē] standing out of the water and in the water:

Whereby the world (o kósmos) that then was, being overflowed with water, perished."

Peter used different words for "the earth" and "the world" when he mentioned the fact that the world perished. It was not the heavens [οὐρανός ouranós] and the earth [γῆ gē] that perished in the flood. It was the world [O kósmos] and all flesh in it that perished.

I refer you to my Post #14 regarding 2 Peter 3:10.

"As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this age. [o aion].

Honestly brother, there's been too much changing of the meaning of scripture by either changing OR ignoring the meaning of the words used in scripture going on in the above post of yours. Be careful not to change the meaning of scripture by either changing OR ignoring the meaning of the words used in the text. It's what false teachers do. They are not nearly careful enough with the text and the meaning of the original words used in the text regarding many of the subjects they cover.

It's not wise to change the meaning of scripture by changing the meaning of words. Those who do so are false teachers.

Jesus was not speaking about the end of "the world" as your post falsely claims. He was talking about the end of the age. It's JESUS speaking. Not you or I. be careful not to change the meaning of what He said or falsely claim He was speaking about the end of the world when He wasn't.

After the end of the age He who rose from the dead and is alive [zao] in His resurrected body to the Ages of the ages [the aions of the aions] will commencing reigning over the nations to the Ages of the ages. John wrote the Revelation. Not you or me, and not the churches (nor those who offer in-depth analyses that have changed the meaning of scripture by changing the meaning of the words used).

In Revelation 21:5 Jesus does not say He will "create" a new "creation". He says He will MAKE all (already created) things new.

"For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist." (Colossians 1:16-17).

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life [zoe]; and the life [zoe] was the light of men." (John 1:3-4)

"And He sitting on the throne said, Behold, I make [poieo] all things new".

It's not a new creation. It's the same creation regenerated - the same creation after Jesus has made all things new. Let Jesus speak for Himself, brother.

39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the age [aion]; and the reapers are the angels.

40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of the age [aion].

41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

That's right. It is what Jesus said. But what He said was the end of the age - not the end of the world. So let Jesus speak for Himself and don't change the meaning of what He said by changing the meaning of words, ignoring the meaning, or replacing the word with another word which means a completely different thing, brother. Be careful for that, because only false teachers do such things.

The words,

"I will not blot out his name out of the book of life" imply that there will be those whose names were written in the Lamb's book of life that will be blotted out.

"The one who overcomes, that one will be clothed in white clothing. And I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." (Revelation 3:5-6).

It's JESUS speaking. Not you or I or the churches or anyone else. So we ought not to change the meaning of what He said.

--- "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt by the second death." --- (Revelation 2:11).

It's JESUS speaking when He says,

John 5:26
For as the Father hath life [zōḗ] in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life [zōḗ] in himself.

It's His apostle John speaking, who says,

John 1:2 & 4
The Word was in the beginning with God. In Him was life [zōḗ], and the life [zōḗ] was the light of men.

And,

1 John 5:11-12
God has given to us eternal life [zōḗ], and this life [zōḗ] is IN HIS SON. He that has the Son has (eternal) life; and he that has not the Son of God has not (eternal) life [zōḗ].

Eternal life is only found only in the Son of God who alone has eternal life in Himself.

It's our teacher Paul speaking who says,

(1) "He (Christ) alone possesses immortality and lives in unapproachable light, whom no human has ever seen or is able to see. To him be honor and eternal power! Amen." (1 Timothy 6:15-16).

If you need deeper insight you can visit the place where I quote each and every scripture relating to all these subjects with the words scripture uses - so as not to change the meaning of scripture by changing or ignoring the meaning of the words used in scripture (because that's what all false teachers do - they change the meaning of scripture by changing or ignoring the meaning of the words used in scripture, or replacing the word used with another word which means an entirely different thing).

41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

Sorry but I do not agree with what you are positing, assume as a fact; put forward as a basis of argument:

I quoted scripture. Scripture and the words used in the text is fact. You put forward what you assumed as fact as a basis of argument even while you were misquoting scripture after changing the words used (example replacing "the end of the age" with "the end of the world").

It's the end of the age in the Greek text, the original text. I was pointing that out to you, but if you don't believe what the text of scripture says, well then you won't agree.
