You can't be too careful these days. - LOLWhy didn't God give you a husband?
He knows I would have been freaked out!
We need God, centre stage..let him choose our husband for us...watch this space!God hates divorce, but he is loving and merciful to victims of divorce. IMHO
Divorce comes with its own natural consequences. What more is needed?

Definitely don't want to ask your wife that question. Some of answers a husband might not want to hear:I didn't ask that of my wife. Probably not something to ask your spouse. (sounds intimidating)
Just an observation: Of the prominent female voices on CB, only three are happily married. The remainder are divorced, separated, widowed, or never married. This one is for the ladies.
I was just thinking about my wife and a discussion we were having.
For some reason this question popped into my head.
Why did God give you a husband?
You know, I went my own way, when I married, I never knew the Lord then, I even knew in my gut, not to marry them, still I went ahead and suffered the consequences of choosing the wrong men, ( not saying I was perfect, I wasn’t, I had a mouth on me, back in them days)...Just an observation: Of the prominent female voices on CB, only three are happily married. The remainder are divorced, separated, widowed, or never married.

I tell you what...I couldn’t believe the amount of divorces that were in a church that I used to attend. It's an epidemic.
The church is in worse shape than the world.

I don’t believe I’m better than anyone..Sigh. The Church is just a representative sample taken from the population of Human Beings. Why are we still surprised? Have we bought into our own propaganda that we're better than they are?
(Even though we are called to be just that.)
Well why did he give you a wife ?
answer that and you will have the answer to your question xxlol
Thanks for sharing, 40 years - congrats to you and your wife as well. That might be another good topic.
My answer might be, "Because I was lonely asked Him to send me somebody". God answered that prayer in a surprising way. I wasn't expecting an older, divorced woman with two children; I see His fingerprints all over that one. As the Sweet Lady likes to say, "We've been married for over 40 years, and we haven't killed each other yet."
But I wouldn't assume God's reasons for giving her a husband and for giving me a wife are the same, at least not all of them. Our roles ARE different.
A work of the enemy against us, I believe. Bringing disharmony and ruin to relationships.I tell you what...I couldn’t believe the amount of divorces that were in a church that I used to attend.
interestingly I wasn’t a Christian before I got married, so no prayers from me. Yet a chain of events linked to the marriage led to me coming to faith….
They expect better from us. As they should, I suppose.Sigh. The Church is just a representative sample taken from the population of Human Beings. Why are we still surprised? Have we bought into our own propaganda that we're better than they are?

They don't; but they do laugh at our pretensions. As they should, suppose. They expect better from us. As they should, I suppose.

How true is that....he certainly was in both my marriages...that was a good eye opener, thanks for that...see how God teaches us through each other...Praise God!..A work of the enemy against us, I believe. Bringing disharmony and ruin to relationships.

Don’t you think that because we often forget who the real enemy is, that this is what leads to division.A work of the enemy against us, I believe. Bringing disharmony and ruin to relationships.

Let's hear it.I actually had a different reason for pointing out the unexpected demographics of this board.
My wife and I figured out that one of the schemes had to do with altering our "hearing".Don’t you think that because we often forget who the real enemy is, that this is what leads to division.
So although we are aware of his schemes we often forget and fail in our approaches to our enemies, as Jesus advised us to. We often react and respond to who is being used by the schemes - and often as not we respond as the world responds, making us no different.
