The Lord certainly requires a lot of wives and homemakers.
To serve rather than be served. (Mark 10:43-45)
To look well to the ways of our household and not eat the bread of idleness. (Proverbs 31:27)
However, God's yoke is easy and his burden is light (Matthew 11:30)
We can do this with a long face, constantly stressed out, or we can do this cheerfully as unto the Lord.
Some practical ways I remember to lighten up:
I get dressed around the house in clothes I like and spend a few minutes prettying up for the day.
I chug water with lemon for flavor and sea salt for added hydration.
I take beef organ supplements and vitamins for hormone balance, sleep, and energy.
I listen to great playlists of fun music and Scripture songs on Youtube and add to them all the time.
I exercise and shower about five days a week.
I use the middle of the day to recharge and do the bare minimum ---little ones tend to nap during this time. I have stopped trying to "catch up" with chores at that time and catch up on my chill instead.
I take deep breaths, hold them for a few seconds, and breathe out through my mouth. Box breathing.
I go outside when I can. Sometimes I just bake in the sun a few minutes.
I slow the pace at times when things get chaotic. Remind myself that Im raising children, not time bombs.
