I won't expect my children to be respectful and cooperate with a good attitude if I'm not living out those virtues in front of them. They ought to see me enact this with their father. How else would I expect them to learn?

Modern society is no longer supportive of people who simply enjoy living peaceful simple lives in their homes. There may not be any laws against it, but my husband and I are definitely seen as the oddballs for all the things we're not doing and not participating in:

--- public school and tons of outside activities for our kids
--- two incomes
--- endless church activities
--- making as much money as we can as top priority
--- buying new stuff all the time
--- vacations and travel
--- holiday obligations and stresses

My mindset has changed a lot on all these things. If I had my way completely and didn't mind God's will, I'd simply live on some land and essentially be a homestead hermit. I'd use the remoteness of our location to not be bothered doing favors for people and say no to all kinds of things because I'd just rather be on the property, and work the gardens or homestead outside most of the time and get to ignore how terrible society has become to deal with. This is probably a little anti-social but I don't mind being social. It's just not always worth the aggravation.

If I'm going to be seen as a strange person anyway, I would love to reap the full benefit and be left to relax and build at home without their aggravation and criticism.

I saved this on Pinterest recently lol

Okay. I don't know why this works but I'll tell you something. Years ago, every time I started getting really exhausted and I literally felt like I could not move, partly due to stress and other was probably physical, there were a few times where I looked over to the fruit bowl and felt God being like "See that? Eat that."

Apples are not my first choice. Ever. I just think they are difficult to eat on their own and I'm not going to take the time to slice them.

I ate it anyway and then I tell you my energy would go way up and I felt so much better.

The night before yesterday, having had exhaustion again, I remembered the apple experience and ate before bed hoping I would feel better.

Girl I was all over work the next day and STILL feel better.

What's in it that helps with the energy? IDK, but if you end up feeling worn down, try an apple.
