VP J D Vance has unabashedly put a discussion of Love Thy Neighbor in the spotlight.

The theme: “ordo amoris.”

Comments?

Blessings.

In my biased option if a poster wants reader to follow a link they need to say more than, " this is interesting, follow the link! "

Public theology depends on having a public educated in basic theology.
How ignorant most non Christians are about theology can be tested easily. Ask them what happens to people who die? A very common answer is if they are ' goog ' they go to heaven.

Thank you for replying.

A new criticism! If one posts a link about a current event, take a stance! (In the past, no matter what my comment was, either 6 members told me I needed to study my Bible more, or there were zero comments.)

So: Until VP Vance brought it up, I had never heard of “ordo amoris.” (But then, I know little of Catholic Doctrine.)

Although what he says makes sense, and he is right that leftists often invert the meaning of Love Thy Neighbor, does scripture support this doctrine, or is it another Catholic add-on?

By the way: it is good to see theology re-introduced into the public square; thank you, VP Vance. Make the Bible great again! (MBGA—Swahili slogan).

That you were the only one to comment does not surprise: members of this forum do not seem interested in a thorough understanding of Love Thy Neighbor. (It does not consist solely of Matthew 25: 35,36.)

Peace.
