To get to the answer of this question we need to go to the only true source the bible and see when and why did God judge the world before. The only time this happened was back in Genesis chapters 4, 5 and 6. There is much to learn about the end times in these three chapters more than most people think. The main part of the text is found in Genesis chapter 6:1-8

Genesis 6:1-8
when human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. 3 Then the Lord said, “My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.”

4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.

5 The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. 6 The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. 7 So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.” 8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.

Many people believe that the sons of God were fallen angels who fornicated and had children with female human beings thus making the world so evil that God decided to destroy civilization. Could this be? Could spiritual beings actually fornicate with human beings and have offspring even though Paul shows us in 1 Corinthians 15 that the heavenly bodies have a different splendor than human bodies? Would God really allow this to happen?

I believe that the sons of God were the faithful sons from the line of Seth and that the daughters of men were the unfaithful daughters from the unfaithful line of Cain.

In these three chapters of Genesis we see that the descendants of Seth were faithful to God while the descendants of Cain were unfaithful. What we read about the descendants of Cain is the great accomplishments they made which is not bad in its self but it is if it’s their highest priority. When we read about Seth's descendants we see that they were great men of God who had many children and lived long lives but this was not attributed to Cain’s descendants.

God warns the faithful people many times to not mix with the unfaithful in the Old Testament and the reason for this is to keep the faithful from being corrupted. We read that one of the reasons that the sons of God were attracted to the daughters of men was because of their beauty not because of love so the reason that they fornicated with them was for lust not love.

But there must be more to the reason that the sons of God were attracted to the daughters of men because there would also have been many beautiful women from the line of Seth.

Lamech gives us the reason for this in Genesis chapter 5

Genesis 5:28-29
28 When Lamech had lived 182 years, he had a son. 29 He named him Noah[c] and said, “He will comfort us in the labor and painful toil of our hands caused by the ground the LORD has cursed.”

The faithful people of God began to lose faith and complain about the pain and burden of working a cursed soil. Lamech named his son Noah which means rest as he thought that Noah would bring his people comfort and rest.

What the daughters of men offered the sons of God was Autonomy

Autonomy

1. The right or condition of self-government.

A self-governing country or region.

• Freedom from external control or influence; independence.

Self-government · independence · self-rule · home rule · sovereignty ·

The daughters of men offered the sons of God the autonomy they desired. The sons of God saw the great accomplishments and advances of the sons of men. The sons of men lived a self-governed and independent life aside from God. This enticed the sons of God so they intermarried with the daughters of men and put aside the ways of the Lord and lived their own self determined lives.

We see the first example of autonomy in the Garden of Eden with Eve. Eve decided that she wanted more than the life God had determined for her she also wanted to be just like God. Satan knew this and tempted Eve and told her that she could have this if she ate the forbidden fruit.

How much different are we the church today? While the world is full of people living their own independent autonomous lives away from God, God’s predetermined choices for them have become negatives like race, gender, sexual orientation, child bearing and child raising. What God determined for them becomes non spiritual and non-important but is the church much different today?

We the church need to remember that our children and our families are watching us. We need to be good stewards with what God has given us including our children and make the right life choices. We only have a few short impactful years with our children and the lack of good Godly examples as well as being influenced by worldly views are reasons that the church youth today are leaving the church in high numbers when they graduate from school. The autonomy of the world is becoming very attractive to them and the conforming is so slow and so subtle that we conform before we realize it and it is a struggle and sometimes too late to turn back.

The seed of the serpent is independence from God which is attractive to the world and the seed of God in constant dependence on him. One way God keeps us dependent on Him is through our bodies as our bodies need clothes, food and shelter to survive this keeps us dependent on God which keeps us spiritually close to Him thus our bodies and our souls work together.

Back in Genesis over time while dwelling with the unfaithful the faithful conformed to the ways of man until the faithful came down to just one man Noah. The ways of the Lord was lost as the people lived for themselves and not for the Lord thus the whole world except Noah became wicked and filled with violence. The reason that God decided to destroy the human race with the flood was not because the world was so evil it always has been evil and still is today the reason was due to the conforming ways to the self-determined Lives of the faithful and it came down to just one man Noah.

The world today looks very much like it did back before the flood and the boat has left the shore and it’s not turning back just like it didn’t in Noah’s day. God will still reach people as He still extends His grace and mercy just like He did with Noah’s family.

God protected the line of the faithful throughout the bible and still continues to do so today and Jesus promised that the gates of hell will not overcome the church. God will step in and save the church before it’s overcome. I believe that Genesis chapters 4, 5 and 6 serves as warning for the church and the church today needs to depend more on God and stop conforming and live the life that God has determined for us. This very same reason for the flood will be the very same reason that God will destroy the world in the future by fire.

The faithful are once again slowly conforming to the ways of the world and I believe when the church stops growing we hold back the advancement of Holy Spirit and we release satan to influence ours and others lives. When this happens we the church, the camp of God’s people, the city God loves find ourselves out numbered and surrounded by the autonomous people of the world and then God will act.

Revelation 20:7-9
7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—and to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. 9 They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them.

Romans 12:1-2
1Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

When and why will God destroy the world?

When - AFTER the Millennium. Revelation 21:1-7

Why - Because everything physical will have vanished and the Spiritual dimension will be the only one; for Eternity.

The Prophetic Word does mention several clean ups first and now; we await the Sixth Seal worldwide disaster Rev 6:12-17, Zephaniah 3:8, +

That's the old tradition, but it excludes the event of Lucifer's original rebellion prior to God's creation of this present world, which He placed in 'bondage of corruption' (Rom.8:18-25).

The "world that then was" which Apostle Peter described in 2 Peter 3 is not about the time of the flood of Noah's day. It instead is linked back to the "beginning" when God originally created an earth that was not... in bondage of corruption. That was the time when Lucifer served God as a cherub that covereth, as God said He created him perfect in his ways (Ezekiel 28).

It is obvious that by the time of Adam and Even in God's Garden, that the serpent (Satan, i.e., Lucifer) had already rebelled and fallen, and was in his role as adversary against God and Christ. That moves the time of Genesis 1:1 when God created the heavens and the earth in the beginning, back long... before Noah's day.

Yes of course Genessis 1:1 was long before Noah's day

One thing we need to remember is that Lucifer was in the garden not outside of it.

I believe that satan was cast out of heaven after Christ assention as shown below

Revelation 12
A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. 2 She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. 3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads. 4 Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born. 5 She gave birth to a son, a male child, who “will rule all the nations with an iron scepter.”[a] And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne. 6 The woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.

7 Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. 8 But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. 9 The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:

“Now have come the salvation and the power
and the kingdom of our God,
and the authority of his Messiah.
For the accuser of our brothers and sisters,
who accuses them before our God day and night,
has been hurled down.
11 They triumphed over him
by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony;
they did not love their lives so much
as to shrink from death.
12 Therefore rejoice, you heavens
and you who dwell in them!
But woe to the earth and the sea,
because the devil has gone down to you!
He is filled with fury,
because he knows that his time is short.”
13 When the dragon saw that he had been hurled to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child.

We also need to remember that lucifer had access to the throne room during the time of Job

Job 1
On another day the angels[a] came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them to present himself before him. 2 And the Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”

Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.”

When and why will God destroy the world?

Why put the onus on God for destruction? What has brought about this assumption?
Isn't it the thief who comes to steal, kill and destroy? John 10:10....and if it is the thief who does these things and we know it is, wouldn't we expect that he would also hide his activity and blame the innocent for what he brings about?

So, what is God's objective? 'I have come that they may have life and have it to the full'....Jesus. John 10:10
Doesn't he desire that ....'who desires that all men be saved and come unto the knowledge of the truth' 1 Timothy 2:4

Man will destroy the World at the behest of evil principalities and powers......that's what will occur, and they will destroy themselves in the process.
Are they not already destroying themselves with chemicals and wars and murders and suicides and disease?
When a perfect man walked among them, what did they do? was it not to conspire to destroy him.....till they achieved their objective.

I will ask again, what has brought about the assumption it is God who destroys? Ahhh, you say, we have the accounts of the flood and Sodom and Gomorrah as well as other accounts which tell us God destroys. I would ask, could it be that the idea that God destroys/ punishes is so ingrained it has become a given, even for those who recorded the events we read about today?

Could it be that Jesus came for the very purpose of setting the record straight about the character of God?

Chewing on these things has definitely not brought about a dry mouth but rather a uniform consistency of God's character as opposed to a Deity who dishes out punishments arbitrarily to selective individuals and circumstances.

2 Peter 3
3 Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” 5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6 By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.

8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.[a]

11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming.[b] That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. 13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.

Revelation 20
7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—and to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore.9 They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

The Judgment of the Dead

11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.

We read an assumption into these texts. They tell us what will occur and we assume it is God who is doing all this destruction.
Finding something in these texts you've quoted which disagree with my statement is welcome......and we can talk about it?

I believe that the sons of God were the faithful sons from the line of Seth and that the daughters of men were the unfaithful daughters from the unfaithful line of Cain.

The problem with this interpretation is this. The daughters of men do not just mean women, it means both men and women. It simply means those from Seth's line, both men and women, started intermingly with those of Cain's line which also consists of both men and women. Your interpretation implies that only men of Seth's line, and not women as well, intermingled with Cain's line. But not also with men of Cain's line, but only with women of Cain's line.

It might look like this.

The men, but not any of the women as well, from Seth's line intermingled with the women of Cain's line but not with any of the men of Cain's line as well. The reason why you interpret it in this manner is because you are obviously taking these marriages in the literal sense and that literal marriages typically involve a man and a woman. What about the women per Seth's line? And what about the men per Cain's line? Why did God destroy them as well if the real problem was because men from Seth's line were intermingling with women from Cain's line?

And BTW, since when would a son of God when referring to humans not mean both male and female humans? If women are not also sons of God what are they then? What phrase describes what they are if sons of God doesn't? The point being, if sons of God can mean both male and female I'm pretty sure the daughters of men can mean both male and female as well.

We are not that far a part here, actually. I just don't think you are thinking all the way through some of this the fact God destroyed both men and women from both lines rather than only men from Seth's line and only women from Cain's line.

You're assuming it is God who is doing the destroying, Marty. Have you considered other factors?
Luke 19
41 As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it 42 and said, “If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes. 43 The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side. 44 They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God’s coming to you.”

Revelation 17
15 Then the angel said to me, “The waters you saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations and languages.16 The beast and the ten horns you saw will hate the prostitute. They will bring her to ruin and leave her naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire. 17 For God has put it into their hearts to accomplish his purpose by agreeing to hand over to the beast their royal authority, until God’s words are fulfilled. 18 The woman you saw is the great city that rules over the kings of the earth.”

God wants all to be saved but He is also a just God

Are the seals bowls and trumpets from God?

Yes of course Genessis 1:1 was long before Noah's day

One thing we need to remember is that Lucifer was in the garden not outside of it.
We need to remember that there was a world earth age BEFORE Lucifer rebelled and fell, and that was NOT during the time with Adam and Eve. It was BEFORE Adam was formed. When Satan appears in Eden as 'that old serpent' at the time of Adam and Eve, he had ALREADY fallen. Thus you are missing an element of time in your Bible understanding by not grasping God's parable about Lucifer in Ezekiel 28 when Lucifer was create perfect in his ways, before iniquity was found in him.

One of Satan's little jokes on many Christian brethren with their limited Bible understanding of timelines is how they are fed the lie that Lucifer was created evil, when God said just the opposite in His parable of Ezekiel 28...

Ezek 28:12-15
12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

13
Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

14
Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

15
Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
KJV

Thus it is ignorance to try... and claim Lucifer was being 'perfect in his ways' when he was tempting Adam and Eve in God's Garden. No, by that time he had already rebelled and fallen by coveting God's Throne for himself, wanting to be The GOD, which is one of the MOST IMPORTANT FACTORS of why and how Lucifer fell from his perfect state of following God in the beginning.

Thus Lucifer was NOT originally created evil, but became evil by coveting God's Throne which was his job to guard as a covering cherub. That is what is meant when iniquity was found in him later.

I believe that satan was cast out of heaven after Christ assention as shown below
That's a pop tradition from men, but it's not Biblically accurate. It shows you have not actually studied those events written in Revelation 12:7-17 which are ONLY end time events.

I offer the following Rev.12 breakdown, showing the actual timing it is for, for brethren who care to read it...

Rev 12:7-17
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not;
neither was their place found any more in heaven.

Only Christ's elect will understand the above statement in red, because one must first understand about the two separate dimensions of existence written of in God's Word, this earthly one, and the heavenly one.

When that war happens, the dwelling place of Satan and his angels will no more be found in the heavenly dimension. Now that does not... mean he and his angels are cast down to live upon this earth still in the heavenly dimension. No, it means being cast OUT of the heavenly dimension altogether. That has NEVER happened to this day, simply because Satan and his heavenly host still operate in the heavenly dimension, which is why they are invisible to our naked eye.

When this Rev.12:7-17 event happens, Satan and his angels will be seen in plain sight upon this earth in OUR earthly dimension. That should be no big shock, since per God's Word angels have appeared to men on this earth in Our earthly dimension (Gen.19).

9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world:
he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven,
Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

The kingdom of God ON EARTH has not yet come, for that does not happen until Lord Jesus returns to sit upon the throne of His glory, David's throne. Still today, Satan can approach God's Throne and accuse us. When his casting down to our earthly dimension happens, that how he will no longer be able to approach God's Throne (like he did in the time of Job), and accuse us before God. That is another confirmation that he will be cast OUT of the heavenly dimension altogether, and that his has NOT happened yet today, not even at Christ's cross.

(Continued...)

Rev.12:11
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

That is about the witnesses on the 5th Seal of Revelation 6, which is a definite end time marker about the saints that are to be delivered up that Jesus warned about for the end (Mark 13). No way could that have happened already at the cross, and definitely not back when Lucifer first rebelled.

12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

That "short time" is the time at the end of this world called "great tribulation" by Lord Jesus.

13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.

14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

That "a time, and times, and half a time" is about the latter half of the Daniel 9:27 symbolic "one week". That means the latter 1260 days when God's "two witnesses" will prophesy against the beast at the end of this world, per Rev.11. The first 1260 days was given back in Rev.12:6. This is actually very revealing, because when the "vile person" of Daniel 11 places the "abomination that maketh desolate" in a new stone temple in Jerusalem at the end, that event is what sets off the start of the "great tribulation", per Lord Jesus (Matt.24:15). So that means the AOD event will end the first half 1260 days, and start the latter half 1260 days of "great tribulation". That is actually what this Rev.12 Scripture is revealing to us.

15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
KJV

That above reference of those who have the Testimony of Jesus Christ means Christ's Church, all of it, not just believing Jews. That symbolic "water as a flood" and reference to the flood of Noah's day in verse 16 is yet another clue of the timing of all these events. Per Gen.7, Noah's ark was on the height of the flood waters for a period of 150 days. That is symbolic of a time of God's protection through Satan's casting symbolic waters as a flood after Christ's Church at the end of this world. Per the old Hebrew calendar of thirty days equal a month, the 150 days equals "five months", the Rev.9 time of stinging of those NOT sealed in the forehead with GOD's seal. This symbolic reference thus further proves this Rev.12:7-17 casting out event has not happened yet to this day.

John 12:31 is where many in the Church have traditionally missed this timeline, and instead wrongly thought that Christ's Kingdom had already come ON EARTH at the cross. This is why there's some denominations that believe Christ's Kingdom on earth is already fulfilled, when it is not, even with Jesus declaring that His Kingdom is NOT of this world (i.e., this world time), per John 18:36. Therefore, the casting out that Jesus said in John 12:31 is actually about this end time event when Satan will be cast out of the heavenly dimension with his angels, to start the end time "great tribulation". At the cross, the "judgment of this world" did NOT happen yet, for that event is still future and will only occur with Christ's future return.

John 12:31
31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
KJV

Even at today, Satan and his angels have already been judged and sentenced to perdition in the future "lake of fire". Their sentence is what is still pending today. So 'their' particular judgment did already happen, even back when Lucifer first rebelled per Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28. Isaiah 30:33 tells us Tophet (put for the future "lake of fire") has been prepared of old, for the king (Satan as beast king). Even during Christ's Ministry, He showed that Satan and his angels were already judged and sentenced to perdition in the future "lake of fire" (Matthew 25:41), and that was before... the cross.

You need to interpret Scripture with Scripture rather than interpret Scripture according to the late crackpot Arnold Murray.

2 Peter 3:6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

2 Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

The reason why I included 2 Peter 1:20 is because you need to remember what that says, the fact the late Arnold Murray, that is what he generally did with Scripture, provide his private interpretations. But anyway, the following in 5 verse below tells us exactly what 'the world that then was' is referring to in 2 Peter 3:6.

2 Peter 2:5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly

It is referring to the world of the ungodly during Noah's day. Therefore, 2 Peter 3:6 can be understood like such---Whereby the world that then was, the world of the ungodly, being overflowed with water during the days of Noah, perished. That is the correct way to understand 2 Peter 3:6 and not the way the late Arnold Murray deceived you and others with his private interpretation into believing.

Also take note that what is rendered 'world' in both 2 Peter 2:5 and 2 Peter 3:6 is the Greek word kosmos and not the Greek word ge. And it's not like Noah's flood is not mentioned in both 2 Peter 2 and 2 Peter 3.

Immediately you reveal you don't have much Biblical understanding when you fail to recognize the difference between my quoting actual Bible Scripture vs. your references to Murray which you obviously hate... for some reason.

This means, you are here... to PLAY POLITICS... and not actually share or learn with staying in God's Word as written.

How can you even begin... to understand what Peter was talking about when you just JUMP around his Epistles in a vain attempt to prove your point? Stick to the Chapter, line by line.

I don't know what Murry provided, you've only slandered his name without offering any... proof for your disagreements with him.

FOR BRETHREN NOT FULL OF HATE AGAINST SCHOLARS THAT TEACH THE GAP IDEA:

My post provided Scripture proof that Peter in 2 Peter 3 was declaring the existence of 3 world earth ages:

1. "the world that then was"
2. "the heavens and the earth, which are now"
3. "new heavens and a new earth"

With the 1st one, Peter referred to the time of Genesis 1:1 when God first created the heavens and the earth in the "beginning".

2 Peter 3:5-6
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of,
that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6
Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
KJV

"that by the word of God the heavens were of old" = Peter speaking of God's original creation at Genesis 1:1 in the beginning.

"the earth standing out of the water and in the water" = the condition of the earth with a flood over all of it, with God moving part of those flood waters up to form today's atmosphere around the earth, and the rest of the waters on the earth being moved with the dry land appearing (again) per Genesis 1:6-9.

"Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished" = the status of the earth at Genesis 1:2 "without form, and void", which per the Hebrew is actually 'a waste and an indistinguishable ruin' (Hebrew tohu va bohu). In Isaiah 45:18, God said He did NOT create the earth 'tohu' ("without form"). God ended Lucifer's rebellion between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2; that's what happened. And God used a world-wide flood over all the earth to end it, which was long... before Noah's day.

So those are NOT Scripture references to the time of the flood of Noah's day.

Furthermore, Apostle Peter said those who reject that destruction of a flood by God at Genesis 1:2 willingly are ignorant of it. The Jews, nor us Christians, are NOT ignorant of the flood of Noah's day, for it is well written of in God's Word. And I have never... met a Christian brother who thinks the flood of Noah's day didn't really happen, thus they are not "willingly" ignorant of Noah's flood. So which flood ARE... they willingly ignorant of? This flood upon the earth that God used to end Lucifer's original rebellion! In that "world that then was", which perished by waters. This is why you will NOT see any reference to God creating the earth again past Genesis 1:1. Moving the waters around UPON AN ALREADY EXISTING EARTH to cause the dry land to appear does NOT mean a creation of the earth.

There are many, many more Bible scholars that understand Genesis 1 as an old-earth perspective; not one supporting the theory of evolution, but a view that God had an original perfect creation that Lucifer's rebellion caused God to end using a flood.

This is supported in Genesis 1 by the revelations in Ezekiel 28; Isaiah 14; Jeremiah 4:23-28; Romans 8:18-25; 2 Peter 3, and many more Bible Scriptures about an ancient earth.

Well that is what I thought of him while he was still alive. Why would I think differently of him just because he is no longer among the living? I have been knowing about Arnold Murray and his many false teachings probably longer than you have. Since maybe the mid 90s in my case. And I know all about his misinterpretation of 2 Peter 3:6. From what I recall he used Jeremiah 4, for one, to supposedly support it. Arnold Murray basically had no clue as to how context works. The context of 2 Peter 3:6 is Noah's flood not what he decided to make it mean instead. Therefore, to use false teachings of Arnold Murray as arguments are not even valid arguments.

ahhhh, a question worth pondering!
Is this from God

Malachi

4 [a]“Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and the day that is coming will set them on fire,” says the Lord Almighty. “Not a root or a branch will be left to them. 2 But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves. 3 Then you will trample on the wicked; they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I act,” says the Lord Almighty.
4 “Remember the law of my servant Moses, the decrees and laws I gave him at Horeb for all Israel.
5 “See, I will send the prophet Elijah to you before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes. 6 He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents; or else I will come and strike the land with total destruction.”
