So many had commented recently about the now deceased happy thread being the best thread on the entire board. It was a help and a harbor in a sea of turmoil.

I'm getting confused. I thought the other Happy Thread was reopened by @rockytopva Is it still active?

Btw, I think Matthias should be allowed to post in more areas of the forum.

* Flashing back to that time my Hebrew language teacher asked me a question in the classroom when I said something in Hebrew that wasn’t supposed to be funny and the whole class laughed. This one is gonna give me a bad dream. *

And THAT reminds me of the time when we were first working with Japanese vendors. Hitachi's sales team came to the US and took us all out to play golf. Afterwards, their account team lead asked me how I did. We'd been learning some basic Japanese phrases, including numbers (useful for when price discussions are going on), so I decided to impress him by answering in Japanese. Now, I meant to say "百八", but instead I said "尺八". My host looked at me really strangely. Their local rep quickly took me aside and told me, "Lambano-san, you just said (common slang term for a certain sex act) in Japanese".

I don't know which was more embarrassing, the faux pas, or admitting publicly that I played double-bogey golf.

I opened this thread when the Happy thread was closed. The closed Happy thread was reopened a little while after I started this thread and remains active.

There is a superabundance of happy in the shadowland.

This is the area of the board where I want to be. This is the area of the board where many want me to be. I’m happy to be here and others are happy that I am here.

I recently read a book on the habits of peacemakers. The use of humor was one of the ten habits discussed by the author.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God“ (Matthew 5:9).

My work is in the shadowland. This is where my blessing is on this board.
