Are we being trolled by AI bots? It seems like it to me. Shallow and incomplete knowledge of Scripture? Simplistic arguments? Inability to answer appropriately to more nuanced responses?

I get AI robo-calls at my work now on a regular basis. It seems the same kinds of responses that stump the robo-callers also seem to shut down suspected AI bots.

What do you think?

Much love!

I was shown this on another forum I go to.

I believe we are, I find the AI on Brave really easy to engage with, very similar to a person, always answers in kind, hugely informative, and more pleasant of an experience than human beings sometimes. I think they use people to learn from interaction, if they can do that on a browser they could engage on a forum, how would any of us know?

Would it necessarily be a bad experience?

I think all forums make merchandise of people in someway, even if in some passive way, I kind of see that as data collection hot spots.

Those arent Ai. Those are Gen z kids, women and the occasional man troll. They can't be Ai because Ai would be more subtle and better informed than they are!

I hate AI and have never used any of it and never will. I know I have watched some AI videos on youtube. I'm learning to spot them rather well I think! Youtube is almost gone from what it used to be.

There's a couple names that I've wondered if they are really AI Bots on the board here

Yeah but if you think about it, that doesn't describe our trolls in the least!

Most of them anyway.

I agree with this.
Me too, and I just got back online after nearly a year of self denial from this addictive little box of wires. And right now I am in that phase of enjoying this season of online interaction, until the inevitable day comes when that sense of enjoyment fades away once again. clfh

It seems to always do that, which might be a good indicator that perhaps you need to get away from this thing, at least for the greater part.

The time off is good.

Yeah but if you think about it, that doesn't describe our trolls in the least!

Most of them anyway.

I dont know, sometimes I watch the questions that are posted and think, is this a data collection thread? I cannot help it, I always think that. Especially products, hobbies, pets, names, dates, locational etc. And then there are some questions that are far easier to find the answer online, or on a video or through AI search, which would be my first choice in getting certain questions answered and I will think (to myself) why is that being asked here? I can be very suspicious of things (in some of the dumbest things). And less suspicious of things where others might be. I ask Brave a bunch of stuff and keep pressing and pressing and pressing and it will go into "are you a robot" mode clfh No, why do you ask? WHO wants to know? What if I am is that a problem? clfh I'm not.

BUT what if the robo trolls are just there to push your buttons and see what makes you go off. I have thought about that. Then you can practice going into "aloof mode", and/or "copy paste only scripture mode". That helps.

But they say you can have conversations with them online and not know. I also look for well written posts because as far back as I remember peoples posts were never as well done a some of them can be today. Ever look back at older posts on older board and compare between then and now?

Then there are "certain other" board that just look like they pay someone to keep it alive and looking active, but if you really look, no one is particpating, its like one person keeping threads moving (with maybe an exception of one or two others that show up adding nothing, for appearances sake or something).

Not to mention if you own a board, most the banned members (meet one of themsml)appear as if active. The boards removing certain tools, no dislike buttons over at Amazon either, no thanks, it MUST BE LIKE, and you watch people get blasted for LIKING a certain post or video or thing, theycome off (to me) as tools of entrapment. They used to have this little tool I loved over at one forum where it had a little lightbulb at the top of your posts that was always yellow, if you were not banned and greyed out if you were on vacation (for breaking rules) or there was a break in a link to you if you were banned. This was great because then you werent wondering if the person was dead or alive, or was just in trouble and count off seven days till you see them again.

Stuff like that, all the good tools go away, anything more helpful goes away, anything you hate is forced on you, etc. I am ranting a little, and could have been a little more articulate and far more detailed but I think you might get where I am coming from

All the better posters go (it so seems to me) and if I was purchasing the board, as they reselling them over and over again, why should it be made to appear that it has more members that what it truly does?

And why are christian board built as if keeping Satan out half the time while keeping some of the worst posters at some of these places and letting the athiests and trolls remain.

That never made sense to me, which only makes me suspicious of the owners true intentions. You cant get but wonder about these sort of things.

But on the same note, I despised the thought of AI in my experience but I have caught myself saying "thank you" when it was extrordinarily helpful as it has been. Ever talk to human beings customer service at some of these huge companies? Its the worst. I have experienced benefit from the use of AI and kind of like its there to utilize.

Sorry when I talk I just never stop sometimes, forgive my goings on

Yeah, I know what you are talking about. These scrape forums also for info on you, the more you tell them more they get, and your info you freely provide is profitable. I just regard these sort of places to be the medium through which they build a profile on you. You know, the whole "Sky net" type stuff.

I feed my AI on Brave with things I WANT it to take back to Microsoft clfh

I have shared some choice words with IT that I would prefer IT would take back to them.

Yes, probably so.

I suppose...if we are able to spot them and not be troubled by them, it gives us a chance to witness, backfiring the scammers intentions.

Yeah, it was a lot friendlier and a lot dumber!

And why are christian board built as if keeping Satan out half the time while keeping some of the worst posters at some of these places and letting the athiests and trolls remain.

I noticed that too, exactly the same thing. I came here from being a long time member of a different Christian board and in the early day it was an awesome board and trolls got banned pretty quick. But then they started letting gays and people with narcisiisstic disorders rule the board. They would speak blasphemies and when I correct one of them, she played a victim card and so they deleted my post! I got angry because I use to do Mod duty for them and they not only brushed me off but deleted more of my posts from this gay loud mouthed troll woman who had some sort of anxiety disorder and demanded special treatment for it...and got it! So since they were continuing to censor me, but mot her, I told them to ban me, because I knew that banning me would erase all of my posts on that forum and I wouldn't have to have my name associated with a pro gay christian board that censors it's own members, but not the gays!

They said No! Because it would interrupt the continuity of many threads because I was a prolific poster there! They tried and tried to get me to stay and supposedly they all liked me and most of my posts so we can't ban you...!

And I thought, wanna bet? So since I had been a Mod for them for some time, I got to be privy to quite a few private conversations about people (LOL!!) So I threatened them that if they did not ban I would make them want to ban ban me for going onto open forum and talking crap about what really happens behind the scenes and the Mod talk there.

It didn't take long. And they banned me, lol. I've met the owner of that board and he's a nice guy. He's been to my house! But somehow, his board doesn't run the way it used to any more.

If you want to get better at spotting AI generated video content, go to youtube and watch whatever you want to, but watch the commercials and you can see that the govt has allowed Gen z to go into business (or so they think!) wasily with internet and AI. I think so they can get used to making lots of money, so they will all jump on the digital dollar when it comes out, and later, the MoB. I think all the kids use the same program for their commercials because they all sound the same. And in the videos, if I cant tell by the layout, thumbnail & Title then it becomes apparent jst a couple minutes into the vid...because they all sound the same.

AI. Millionaire kids. Drunk with money. Mark of the Beast. Yes Sir, where do I sign up? Sheesh.
There's gonna be lots of hungry teenagers when everything collapses or the grid goes down.

I think it's a good idea for us to find ways to do things without and away from our electronics for chunks of time during the days.

I agree with this too. I didn't grow up with internet and we were always outside. Fishing, woods walking with rifles shooting at anything that moved, skipping school and raiding the garden for lunch! Skipping school to read my own choice of books! (Because I could tell that they werent teaching us anything)

What kind of kid skips school to read a book?! I was a weird one, lol. Paid off though.

Another thing I don't like is Smart Homes. They came out with smart homes when I was installing a lot of HVAC systems is peoples homes, and the new T-Stats started getting smart, allowing people to check the temperature or adjust the heat setting from their phone. Or un lock their doors or lock them and turn lights on and off and all sorts of weird stuff like that.

I abhorred that stuff. I'd install it if the customer insisted on it but it don't make sense to put control of your home onto WiFi! Like someone can't easily hack it and turn your syuff off?! What an idiotic product that is.

Geez, I never even bought an Alexia, lol. Nice try wrong guy, lol!

I think I grabbed the wrong post of yours, but I hear you, I was telling someone somewhere on here that I couldnt find a wall oven without all the tech. We come to have need of a new wall oven because ours is well over 40 years old and the spring on the door had failed 2 years ago and the second spring just failed this past year. So I have to be careful opening it and let it down by holding it or it slams down and the thing is heavy because its ancient. The door is still connected to the hinges but it has no springs to keep it closed. We have to use one of those short ball bungee cords to keep it shut (got it rigged) . Other wise we couldnt use it to bake. Can't seem to find smart-less tech-less/ wifi-less stuff and I try to avoid that and using the search feature through AI would not take me to the off grid appliance stores (which is predictable haha) but the wall oven I would need would be electric, and would have to add propane or natural gas to the house to do it some other way. Some of these receive "updates", I would never in my life think that someone would think thats a good idea to centralize your home and its basics to be internet dependent. No one can really be that stupid so I dont really believe they are, its something other. Internet connected washing machines? Not buying one of those either. If some folks want that stuff thats fine, but why force those who want nothing to do with it to be stuck with it? Never was there such a time when consumers bypassed a far as what they want or do not want on computers and all sorts of appliances where its quite unnecessary, yet intrusive technology. I bet its written in the terms of service (or somewhere on the box) which you never see that they are not responsible for any sort of security problems their tech will likely cause you.

This stuff drains my spirit, even talking about it too much, I need to hit the word of God and take a step back from it. I say that, lol

I have a very similar horror story, lol. I was thinkng just like you when the grid goes down. My dad had one new stove and a lesser newish stove but they both have electronic oven controls. Even though the four burners on top will work when power goes out (and it does sometimes). SO I just kept my eyes open and eventually I spotted and old stove in somebody's house. Real old, the ones with a pilot light for the oven! Boom. $20 and it was mine! I moved it home and into the basement to clean it up and the LP gas Orifixes were still taped to the back of it! I had everything I needed for an off grid stove and oven, I can hook it right up to the gas grill tank and it runs fine (I had to buy an $8 LP Regulator. I felt good when I went to bed that night!

The next morning, I woke up to cock a roaches. Ugh! That cost me $150 bucks to get rid of them but I have it all set up in the basement ready to cook off grid.

There's a way to go into the stove and repipe it a little bit and get rid of the electronic oven control and electronic ignitor. It would take finding a different oven control with all tubing and pilot and a new MV gas control! but those appliance repair shops can prolly fix you up with parts. Or you could look around for one of those real old stoves with a pilot oven and convert it to LP gas. The controls are kinds pricy now so I bet you could find a whole old stove cheaper than the new conversion parts would cost you.

But, #1 rule for buying real old stoves from peoples homes...Watch out for the cock a roaches!

Ew Gross... I would have never thought of the thing becoming a cock roach hotel. With the exception of the occasional pregnant spider I typically dont have to worry about indoor bugs because my husband use to be an exterminator in his youth, and hasnt lost his touch. He the bug eliminator. We dont have a basement, but we do have a wood burning stove in the living room.

I wanted one of these but after I saw the price there was no way but in the olden days thats what you did, these were the most important things whereas the things we have in our homes today are treated the same.

My husband wouldnt budge on one of those, or any of the old fashion stoves. Which I cannot blame him, living in a warmer region you cant really run that indoors without the heat in the house becoming a real problem. If the winters were longer and cooler he might jump on that one.

I did see an oven that is suspended on the wood stove pipe

1735696940668.png

Looks kind of weird don't it? And he was even less thrilled about this idea too haha

So I bought a camp chef oven, a sun oven and a larger vintage toaster oven, so if worse come to worse I could bake in either of them. I couldnt do large batches of things like I do now but I could deal with it. And I will likely just get a gas oven and use it to bake on the porch. Not quite the norm but doable.

Still thinking about what is our best option concerning this. I wish I knew a good appliance guy who knows the old stuff but is tech savvy and could do some cool work arounds. Those kinds of people are hard to find, but would be in high demand.

Well when it is warm out that's when you cook on the outside charcoal grill with sticks and wood. I have one, it works great with wood! Then you dont overheat the house.

Wood burning stoves are nice but they are ridiculous now in price. Cheap ones are 5 grand and that nice one those people have in the video, I bet they paid 10 grand for!

Do you know that they sell wood burning forced air furnaces too? They have inside models and outside models that are ducted into the house to tie in with the duct system. Keeps the mess outside. Last time I priced those they were around 2 grand just for the unit. A little high for my budget! (And I could install it myself) as that is my trade, or was. Lol

But anybody who has ever been been camping already knows that wood burners (Old style) have no thermostat! The thermostat to turn it down would be...the front door! Too hot open the door! Lol.

My house is set up for wood burners and has two chimneys! But the wood stoves were taken out years ago. They shot up in price too. So there is an advantage to living in a 125 year old house! I keep pricing used wood stoves and they going up fast too, grumble grumble...

When I inherited my dad's house when he passed, I got the house and I can see that it is set up like some sort of old time cowboy rooming house, lol! Which is a good thing overall. But I found my old Coleman camp stove from when I was a kid. I tried to recondition the tank and clean it up, but the tank cracked when I tried to remove the gas tubes from the tank. SO I busted it. So meandered on down and bought a LP conversion kit for my coleman camp stove! It works greeat! They convert to LP gas for about $20 and it's easy as pie!.

What we call going into survival mode, they called day to day life 125 years ago!

I took a year offline, too, years ago. I miss it sometimes.

I'm feeling it a lot more since the US Treasury got hacked by China and some other things going on.

I mean if we're honest, they are only getting better at it and for something major, most Americans aren't prepared at all.

I keep telling Mr. Duck I want to go back to some of our Mennonite roots, but I'm not getting my way just yet. Lol

Also there's a lot I haven't figured out yet.

You know, a friend of mine has something that uses pellets and an outside sort of stove set up to heat the home, but I dont know what that is called, I would have to ask. I think its a pellet stove? Uses wood pellets I think, I am not sure if its the same thing.

You have to forgive me, I do not feel too chatty today, this cold I have had for a few days is just kicking my butt right now. Well, until its time comes when I can kick its butt back haha.

I think I gotta take up more copy pasting type threads, at least for the moment, because I can never think of what to say past a throbbing headache haha

The Mennonite church went through a huge split in our state. I dont know what they believe completely, when looking for a place to ahave fellowship, but it was overrun with LGBTQ. My neighbor is a laymen with that same church which split off from that one (because of its departure from Christ) and they which split off from that and they themselves only 10 members with them my particular area.

Dejavu, with Sodom, and Abraham chiming in asking, "what if there be ten be found there,"And the LORD responds, I will not destroy it for ten's sake.

In both places (with Noah and the flood) and eight souls in all and in Lot and Sodom (it was he and his two daughters in the end) but would have been 6 (with his sons in laws and wife) but they thought he was kidding, while his wife looked back, but there was under 10 in both places before the LORD destoyed both places. Not to mention that the numbers of those that would be delivered actually decreased, shown in Noah, 8 souls , in Lot 6 souls (but only half of these were, and so just 3 souls)

I hear you though, if I was younger and more capable and not married to someone who would shun the idea I would be packing my bags haha
