As a non-Catholic, I don’t have an opinion one way or the other on whether or not it is time for Pope Francis to go. (Would I have an opinion on the matter if I were a Catholic? Yes.) I noticed in reading through the thread that none of the Catholic members of the board have commented on it. I wonder why that is as well as what they think about non-Catholics expressing the opinion that it is time for the leader of the Catholic Church to go.

Would you care to comment on any of this @asoul?

My X / Twitter “For you” feed is filled with Catholic tweets (which I enjoy reading). This, from yesterday - but I didn’t see until this morning - reminded me of this thread.

”Your choice is not Pope or no Pope.
Your choice is Pope Francis or Pope You.”

Just checking in...I'm not posting anymore...at least for a long time.
I think asoul is not around anymore...
and if he is...
the question about Pope Francis is rather complicated and most Catholics don't care to discuss it.
Too much to consider:
1. IF he's not a "real" Pope the succession would be broken and no one knows how to resolve that problem.
2. IF he's teaching incorrect Catholic doctrine that has never been taught before....(which he is) then we'll have to hold our breath, wait till he leaves, and then hope one of his chosen Cardinals doesn't take over.
3. If a Traditional Catholic Pope takes over,,,then the Catholics can breath a sigh of relief because he can undo everything this Pope got wrong. This will be possible because none of what he stated/taught was from the chair of Peter...or...ex-cathedra.

As to your feed:
Well, actually I'm going to have to agree with that.
IF...by that we mean that we are each our own little Pope.
This is why I'm tiring of this back and forth.....how is it possible that we could each have our very own opinion about EVERYTHING???
Maybe I'm a Catholic at heart?
Maybe.
Or, I'm just tired and may need a long break from these threads.
I respect you M....you didn't write Christian under your avatar.
Yeah. I'm on a rampage about this.
No Jesus = God
No Christian

I wish you a healthy new year.

His posts made under the username “asoul” now appear as posts made by ”LexMundy”. I don’t know what that’s all about.

Everyone needs a break from them from time to time. Recognizing it and taking a break is a good thing.

I respect you as well.

Many think, and some will boldly say, that I am a wolf in sheep’s clothing, when what I really am is a sheep in what appears to them to be wolves clothing. (I love irony.)

I’m a Jewish monotheist. Jesus is “God” in Jewish monotheism, but not in the same way that he is in trinitarian theology, binitarian theology and sometimes in unitarian theology.

I wish you a healthy new year.

Thank you. I wish you the same.

I agree with you.
What would make you a wolf?!
You're one of the most honest persons on this site.
You have the right to understand God in your way....
believing in the Trinity or not is NOT what is going to save a person...
however,,,if one wants to define themselves as Christian, then, yes, they must believe in the Trinity
OR it means they're following a man....
Isn't this how it is?
Am I fighting a hill that can't be won?
Are we allowed to make up our own rules for a definition?

God is God.
All it takes to spend eternity with Him is to know that He is (Hebrews)
and to obey Him (John - and really all the writings).
I don't like to place God in a box....I think He's too big for that.

Thank you. I wish you the same.
So kind M.

I think THE anti-Christ will require world-wide approval and Pope Francis does not have this....
He doesn't even have approval from all Catholics.

But he certainly is joining the ideology of the post-modern era and helping along the extreme left which is pure madness in an adult population. Many adults, it seems, have forgotten to grow out of the crazy ideas that teens usually have, and which they USED TO grow out of.

But, you may be right....who knows.
He doesn't have much time left though....I think he's 87 or so.
What other religions head meets with the world leaders and they even bow to him. Not hard to see..

Sorry Hobie, I don't get your point.

Which world leader ever listened to what the Pope believes? They're all for avoiding war...is war avoided?

If by anti-Christ we mean anyone that is against Christ...then there are many that fit this definition in world politics.
If by anti-Christ we mean that entity that seem to take from Revelation who will be a world leader that will be obeyed and whose ideology will be followed by all, then I just don't see the Pope fitting this bill.

Who did Biden bow to during the G7 meetings and give homage to. The President of the most powerful nation in the world genuflecting and bending the knee to a mere man who says he is God, infallible, and rulings cannot be questioned and claims to have the power to forgive or excommunicated unless you follow his false teachings and pagan doctrines...

I think you got a few things wrong there...and I do say wrong because they're not a matter of opinion.

People bow to the Queen and King and the royal family of England too. Do you accuse them of being the anti-Christ? It's a way of showing some type of respect....it's not they REALLY respect or honor him. It's just a formality.

The Pope does not say he is God. The Pope REPRESENTS God on earth.

The Pope is not infallible. He says a lot that is considered wrong by many. Why do you think I started this thread?
Many lay persons, priests, bishops and Cardinals heartily disagree with many statements he's made. He is only infallible in very specific circumstances and none have occurred with this Pope.

MANY of his rulings have been questioned. See paragraph above.

The ex-communication happens because the CC MUST remain intact and anyone who creates a schism is very suspect. Some Bishops have been ex-communicated because they're outrage over this Pope has been heard by many, agreed to by many - and, this idea does negate/deny your claim that the Pope cannot be disagreed with.

And I do agree that THIS Pope has false teachings which do not agree with doctrine of the CC and which is why he did not state them INFALLIBLY.

As to pagan doctrines, I hope you're referring to the Pacha Mama horror which he invited to the Vatican about 3 years ago...in this case I also agree with you.

Only God is infallible and you cannot set aside or change God's Word and put your own for holy, it's blasphemy and he will soon see the results..

You don't know what infallible means.
Although this one might be blasphemous....

He has double pneumonia.
He's on the news here a lot.
I don't see how he could get over this.
I pray God forgives him for what he did to his own church.
But he made many new cardinals and bishops.
He "packed the court" so to speak.
The Catholic Church will survive, no matter what.

Everything is controlled and filtered to present only what they want as we saw with Biden for four years, so they can keep it hidden, for a time...
