His lie was not intellectual dishonesty. His sin is arrogance. His behavior is a prime example of why Paul said, "knowledge puffs up." His condensation is based on his overconfidence, leading to the dismissiveness we both witnessed.
Judge and jury.

:(

Personally, I don't consider you to be a good general source for doctrine either. So I guess you can call me arrogant also?

It's too bad you cannot just own your behavior. You didn't like what he said and you snapped back. Can you just admit accept move on?

Much love!

Do you think that the Holy Spirit is able to empower a man to live sinlessly? So far as we can know?

Much love!
As a matter of his ability, the Holy Spirit can do anything. But what did Jesus promise with regard to the role of the Holy Spirit? In the latter chapters of John, Jesus specifies the role of the Holy Spirit in terms of our enlightenment. The role of the Holy Spirit is to bring us to a full knowledge of Jesus Christ, and to the degree that we follow him, we will put to death the deeds of the body. But we are not promised a sinless life.

John warns us against those who confess they have no sin. If I confess I have no sin, I am not in fellowship with the Father. Those who are in fellowship with the Father are willing to confess they are sinners.

No. I am not affended by those with whom I disagree. I am offended by those who treat me as unworthy of conversation.

I have already moved on. Johann and I are in conversation again. Thanks for your concern and your brotherly approach.

Have a look at the context.

Rom 7:24 Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?

Paul answering his own question -
Rom 7:25 Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.
Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.

At the last trumpet?
Rom 8:9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.
Rom 8:10 But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
Rom 8:11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

Does it mean we will never sin anymore in this life?

No.
Romans 8:11 takes place at the last trumpet.

I hadn't noticed. I thought his most recent post to you was prior. I wonder what's true?

@Johann

Much love!
@marks In John's prologue, is the Logos an "it"-a plan, a promise-or a Person?

I won’t engage in a conversation unless it’s conducted with mutual respect.

I believe the Logos is the Son of God, the Messenger of YHWH.

Johann and I are in conversation again.
Is it that important to you that I think of you the way that you want for me to? It's a fiction, and serves no one. Though we are all in fact revealed in our words, this is one of those times.

For myself, I prefer to engage with those who are honest, and fair, and respectful.

Much love!

Paul isn't suggesting that he can do ALL things. He can't jump off a cliff or rocket himself to the moon.

He raised the dead at least once that we know of and that wasn't in the list you speak of.

The fact of the matter is we can do ALL things the Lord needs us to do as it's the Lord's strength and ability that empowers us to do the things the Lord needs us to do.
