There is a huge difference between using "common ground" simply for the sake of expediency so as to have a foot in the door in order to have a conversation for the purpose of evangelizing, as opposed to being unequally yoked with unbelievers. God calls us to be separated from the world, unto Him, that He might receive us.... that is what it means to be holy - separated to God. We are to be in the world but not of it. Friendship with the world is enmity with God.

My point termed “common ground” had / has nothing to do with, abandoning ones own Convictions, RATHER “acknowledging” others have “their own convictions”….

I have A GOD, I trust, believe, hold MY allegiance TO…

Others ALSO have a god, they trust, they believe, they hold their allegiance TO…

That is a “common ground” point….that EACH have…(even if it is not the same “god”, they EACH have an “established standing allegiance”.)

WHY would that BE a consideration to engage in conversation when such persons ARE NOT YOKED, (with allegiance to the SAME God?)

I appreciate your view, many might have it, just not me. I go against the grain of Pre-Tribbers and Post-Tribbers. I am Mid-Trib/Pre-Wrath Rapture adherent, It happens at the last trumpet (Rev. 11:15 - the 7th trumpet). From the Mellennial Kingdom on, your scenario sounds about right (the last paragraph). But that is another topic.

We better not underestimate the slyness and subtlety of the devil, and be not ignorant of his wiles. Take heed who thinks he stands lest he fall. We most certainly are in a spiritual war....the devil prowls around seeking who he may devour. There are churches that have brought in Muslims to preach to their congregations in the interests of "bridge-building", and many Christians join in praying with people of other faiths. This happens at the White House and have seen it in at least one of DT's campaign rallies too. That is all so misguided, deceptive and dangerous for true believers. Prayer is communion with the deity one is praying to. We who know the Lord must not eat of the Lord's table and the table of demons too.....or it WILL bring consequences sadly. Ecumenicalism/interfaith IS a falling away (apostasy) from the true gospel and I believe is leading to the strong delusion.
