You would never do that, right? Actually tear pages out of your Bible. ???

But how many of us do it in our minds by claiming someone else's view is "UNBIBLICAL"!
Might as well have torn that one out of your Bible.

No page should be ripped out

Just because someone disagrees with you. Does not mean anyone should rip a page out of a bible

We should not be so proud in our belief we think we have it all figured out.

Most disagreements are based on interpretation of certain passages. Not that we want to tear a page out of a bible

I could actually answer this one honestly, because there ARE verses in the Bible that I wish weren't there. But I won't, because I learned long ago that an open internet forum is not a safe place to leave yourself vulnerable.

But this is a good question for honest introspection and self-reflection.

I am not going to ask you. Because i agree it would leave you open. But except for Luther wishing james was not in the word. I have never heard anyone say such a thing.. I applaud your honesty!

The real issue seems to be the my way or the highway attitude about the Bible and Christian beliefs.
I think we need to allow some room for differences of opinion. All the Damnationism verses are still in my Bible.

Ha! I'd forgotten about Luther and James.

I've heard many preachers who were open and honest and not afraid of exposing themselves publicly. I respect them all the more for it.

I remember a time when I hated James 2 and Acts 2 concerning faith and baptism..

But it was because I could not answer the questions people asked me concerning my faith.

I remember when i did a deep study and figured out how to properly interpret both that I had a joy that was unexplainable.

some times we just have to dig deep..

There's a good game - what can we do with the words from the Damnationist verses?
“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” - Matthew 25:46
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then they will go away.
Then they will go away to eternal life.
Then they will go away to eternal life, but the righteous to punishment.
away we go to eternal life
Thomas Jefferson did.
That's good, thanks.
Some are of the opinion that you should not write on, or otherwise alter the Bible.
I used to write all over mine. But that was common in my family and the church I grew up in.
My dad used highlighter pens of differing colors on one Bible to the point that there was more highlighted than not.
Especially in the NT.
Well, I don't actually want to remove anything, but there are a number of books that I'd like to put an asterisk on that says *NOT AN INSPIRED BOOK:
Leviticus
Numbers
Joshua
Judges
1&2Kings
1&2Chronicles
Esther
Proverbs
Ecclesiastes
Basically, these should be part of the Deuterocanon rather than the Canon proper.
Really? Why?
The short answer is - they weren't written by prophets, so we shouldn't expect them to be inspired.
A longer answer would include an analysis of each book, showing how they disagree with the Prophets. The Prophets are very consistent with each other.
