All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
While I believe this specific letter, was the second written letter by Paul to encourage and remind him considering what lies within the Old Testament. There are many wrong doings, and right doings within those documented pages. Even so, today as people who have Scriptures which include the New Testament, they are there to help us spiritually. Not to correct our flesh, however to encourage us to continue in the Spirit which is given to us. Now while I do not believe every single scripture in the Bible, are promises of God for us today due to some of the promises concerning the end of the age for the people of that time, and some of them do not pertain to us specifically. There are promises which are for us today. It would take a while to go through if I was to do a complete study, but I desired to put this out there because I do believe there are promises that do pertain to us, while some do not. The scriptures that we have today are protifable for spiritual maturity and growh, to teach us what is true, and to also make us realize what is wrong in our lives from the Lord Jesus/Yeshua. Like when he states what is residing in the heart is what comes evil thoughts, greed, hatred, etc... not what goes in the stomach. Some will use scripture as though you must stop eating meats, or something. Those things are not what matters, in the end it matters what is in the heart. Yeshua is our righteousness, and he will guide us to do what is right, and not what is wrong as some people may lead us to believe, that is why leaning on not our own understanding is something we cannot do, it's best to hold on to what the Lord Yeshua has stated. Though while some promises are not for us today, it is simply to understand that when reading the bible it opens us up to who we can be as a human beings. There are people who preach Christ out of love, some out of jealously and rivalry. What do you believe is correct? Well, trusting in God, and looking towards him in faith, is something that is highly valuable. The bible itself from the Old Testament, to the New, is ultimately about Love, while the people in that day were to be saved from Wrath itself in that day, today that is something we do not have to worry about. Worrying wont bring about an hour of life to us, what we do tend to worry about is where we are in this world, with God. If you are someone whom is a believer in faithful, of the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Yeshua, and have been touched with the holy spirit overall, you will in faith; love. Even with all the struggles that you have within yourself, struggles with the world, or other people. You have the LORD GOD to go to, the Father, in Yeshuas name to ask you to help you by and through the holy spirit, and its a unknowing walk of faith never knowing what tomorrow may bring.
