We can only learn from each other, if it’s Of the Holy Spirit....who is telling you that I love you in Christ...I would say my heart is speaking to you in love Sis...because my heart is Of God,he’s in our heart is he not...softening our hearts to be more like Jesus....just my opinion/ thoughts,

RJ,disagrees,we don’t go straight into spiritual understanding straight away,imo..we learn to communicate with God, via his Spirit, we are newly Born spirit children .therefore the Holy Spirit is our teacher regarding spiritual matters....we are Born Of The Living Spirit,we aren’t Born Of the Bible, the Holy Spirit leads us through the written word, brings it to our understanding “ in our spirit” that’s how he communicates with us Spirit to spirit ,my opinion/ belief.

It means everything we have (spiritual) came and does come the Lord, from His Spirit....it is not of our own but we receive it from the Lord.

God gives spiritual sight and hearing to us once we have become born again believers in Jesus Christ. The Holy Spiritis given to us to develop these senses in our life as we learn to walk in the Spirit (Gal 5:16).

Yes I agree with the concept of growth, certainly. But I would like to know what Stephen thinks about how we become newborn spiritual children. That is not of the carnal mind, it is of the spirit. How else can we become a newborn spiritual child of God, a new spiritual creation? We have been renewed in the inner man which is created after the image of He who created it.....a quickening spirit. Jesus said ye MUST be born again, to see and enter the kingdom of God.

Yes and Jesus often chided those who couldn't or wouldn't hear but presumably should have and would have if their hearts were right.

I don’t think we are supposed to be questioning who is Born Again are we...only God knows our heats at the end of the day..

RJ said imo...This spoke to me also, may I just say that only God can show us, that our hearts aren’t in the right place....he’s certainly showed me that...once I let go of self/ pride/ ego/ putting self on a pedestal.

I think it is more like a renovation project than a chemical reaction.

Granted, everyone may have a different experience with this.
Some are miraculously transformed in the moment, and others struggle to move forward.

I try to leave room for the experiences and understanding of others.
I don't declare "my truth" over someone else's experience.

Unfortunately, people interpret this as me not taking a stand.

A chemical reaction is instantaneous typically. But I don't think that is the norm for most believers.
Might be a good topic with a poll to vote on it.

A renovation project takes time. The demolition phase removes the unwanted elements.
Then rebuilding can occur. New materials are installed, improvements and upgrades happen.
And in time the project is completed. Those familiar with the previous dwelling may be amazed
at the marvelous transformation. Both a joy and a delight to owner and inhabitant.

Here it is again. Always happy to share.

This is a story worth sharing. At eight years of age I was attending a Summer Bible camp in Wisconsin. In a morning chapel service the man speaking did as they always did, he gave an invitation to receive Christ. He asked that all heads be bowed and all eyes closed. But I found myself peeking to see if any of these "lost sinners" would raise a hand. At that moment God spoke to me. Though it was a supernatural event, it seemed as natural to me as anything. I knew who it was and wasn't frightened, or disturbed by it. What I heard was mind-blowing. It came like a tap on my shoulder. The message was clear and direct. "If you think it is so important, why haven't you done it?" I was speechless. I answered with my feet. I knew the drill. I rose to my feet and pushed my way to the aisle to go forward before we were even asked to do so. When I was a young adult I made a connection about this event that had not been apparent to me at the time. The man who led me to Christ was the son of the man that led my father to the Lord. A Christian Alliance missionary that went from farm to farm inviting people to Sunday School and sharing the gospel in the area where my father grew up. Basically in the middle of nowhere. Such a wonderful mystery, the workings of our great God.

It didn't occur to me until decades later what a unique experience I had.
I assumed everyone got "saved" that way. Not true.
Even my own wife was transformed over a long period of time.
She can't point to a single moment in time when she was transformed.

Everyone comes to God in their own way. I let everyone have their own story.
I think this is a marvelous thing. The cookie cutter assumptions don't work for me.

I wasn't claiming that we "become newborn spiritual children" through our carnal mind.
My point was that our carnal mind remains, even after spiritual rebirth. We are transformed by the renewing of our mind.
This is not an instantaneous process for most believers. We need to crucify the flesh (carnal mind).
