I also miss the days when people knew about God and obeyed Him.
Some weren't even real Christians but they had morality embedded within them somewhere.

Today we're experiencing something worse even than atheism....

At least atheists had moral values....woke persons do not, and jugding by the polls,
people either don't know what's going on - or woke is dominating the world scene.

Just like the OP, I miss when people tried to be civil and respectful of each other instead of just thinking
about themselves.

I miss turning on the TV (which I don't do anymore) and enjoying programs I could watch with my whole family.

Perhaps you're hanging around the wrong people @Bob Estey ? We attend to those that have not heard the message of Christ and his Father and the Holy Ghost. We share Baptism, receiving the Holy Ghost, Bread and Wine, from proper churches. And the love, peace and joy of serving the Lord after those things have been performed.

To discern those which are ready for the message and when they will not hear the message is wisdom from God.

Matthew 10:11 “Now whatever city or town you enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and stay there till you go out. 12 And when you go into a household, greet it. 13 If the household is worthy, let your peace come upon it. It isn't a group thing. It's an individual moral way of life.

You are responsible to obey God. The rest of this world isn't in your control. Your living in obedience to God is what helps you navigate that rest of the world.

I miss common sense. Again,something we are responsible to display yet,seems not so common these days.

No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He was also big on promoting effective parenting strategies like: the adults are in charge (not the kids), and the three R’s (Responsibility, Respect, and Resourcefulness) are the most important lessons to be taught children. In his day Little League actually had tryouts, and not everyone made the team. Those who didn’t had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that! Some students weren't as smart as others, so they received poor grades. Horrors! And the idea of a parent bailing him out if he broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law! Common Sense survived such cultural and educational trends as body piercing, new math and instant messaging. For decades, petty rules, silly laws and frivolous lawsuits held little impact on him. But his health started to decline when he became infected with the wide-spread Do anything, just for the sake of doing something virus. And in later years his subsequently compromised immune system proved no match for the ravages of rampant irrational regulations. For instance, his health rapidly deteriorated when schools implemented and then mindlessly administered numerous zero tolerance policies: a six year old boy was charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate, a teenager was suspended for taking a swig of mouthwash after lunch, and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student. It declined even further when schools had to get parental consent to administer aspirin to a female student, but could not inform a parent when the same student was pregnant or wanted an abortion. And to make sure that they were part of the problem, parents attacked teachers for doing the job they themselves failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. Common Sense started losing the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband, churches became businesses, criminals received better treatment than their victims, and federal judges stuck their noses in everything from Boy Scouts to professional sports. When he was subsequently informed that “environmental” organizations like the Sierra Club were behind this profound pillaging of the environment Common Sense died of sudden cardiac arrest. Mr. Sense was preceded in death by his parents: Truth and Trust, his wife: Discretion, his daughter: Responsibility; and his two sons: Diligence and Reason. He is survived by three stepbrothers: Whatsinit Forme, Iknow Myrights, and Ima Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he had departed. I just know that they are performing sex change operations on children, allowing pornography into our school libraries, letting boys, who say they want to be girls, shower with girls at school, and pushing to change abortion laws so that abortion is legal during the entire nine months of pregnancy, and if a child survives an abortion, they are trying to remove laws that would keep that baby alive.

I understand Bob. I have follow the news articles as well. There seems to be a spotted nature to that beast of good and evil works among the USA states. I live in a democrat state and we have good areas and trash areas, let's face it. The good areas tend to stay out of the cities and into lesser dominated cities by crime people and wicked people. Some states are better than others. And the news reports reflect the troubling news and less often the pleasant news.

The large cities in my area and fully promoting GBLTQ and also having much problem with criminals including organized crime. It's a disaster. And they seem to, in the old days, be concentrated in the biggest cities. They appear to be spreading out more to the other cities that used to be pleasant.

Let's face it GBLTQ is often creepy to the normal Christian, sometimes not, but sometimes they are just that let's face it.

The problem I identified with society that caused it to degrade was in fact the school changes over time and also the media influence on the youth. They tend to harass Christians in an attempt to deter them from the media so they can get their promoted agendas all over the masses without Christian protection from their deceptions and murderous ways. I thought the school problems that did happen, which is not in all places but often reported on the news, started at the universities and taught to the teachers and so on.

I also noticed damage to the youth and the resulting mental illness and that seemed to lead to medications which masked the damage and also psychology which let's face it, doesn't even use God as a physician. They often promote eastern religion and other strange ideas that only further the damage and keep the ill people coming back for more reception of ill beliefs and they make a lot of money that way.

I could go on and on and on.

When I was younger we had much fun, I did notice the media TV and such were very ill back then as well. The people less ill. It would seem the TV shows, music on the radio were also "more" ill then the people that watched their money making presentations.

The good ol days of fishing, hunting and other fun things, does go on these days at football games and other fun events in a more rural and country setting probably, I'm just not sure people are going to get that from city folk.

@Bob Estey the problem I found in 25 years of that weird psychology they created that doesn't even describe a human and defined by God is this: They promote "beliefs" and those "beliefs" are false for the truth about human nature as created by God. That is true about GBLTQ lies and deceptions. Satan and his angels are powerful in deception and the convincing a vulnerable soul to believe in dark heart beliefs that leave a person farther from reality.

The areas I think that are reported on the news are the problem areas in society if you are watching a conservative Christian area of news. I don't know how much of problems exist in our nation as a whole. I know there are some often reported areas of certain states that seem to be the worst perpetrators.

Once those false beliefs are accepted by a human they becomes almost forcible attached to the heart and mind. They darken the eye of the soul. It can be difficult for a person to hear the truth after that and accept it. It can even feel depressing and painful. But that usually last only a small while and then the pain is gone. Putting the pain behind us and moving on is wise.

God is able to heal us of "false beliefs" and guide us back to sanity and light.
